When Scott came into my office I had a brief bio on what he was going through, by listening and observing I could see that Scott was physically and mentally being abused by his parents, and emotionally detached and lack of control over his anger due to his childhood. Scott diagnoses was bipolar depression and his condition is workable but it will take time and constancies. Scott’s faces lack of feelings and is emotional detached with his wife.
The issue that Scott has is being verbally and physically violence to get his point a crossed and be known, and the reason he is that way is because of how he was raised and how his parents treated him. The goal here is to help Scott find positive reinforcement in getting his point across and not build things up inside The third issue that Scott has is that he has no relationship with his family, and his goal that we had agreed on was going to support center therapy that could help guide him in ways on how to slowly get a relationship with his family.. Next, as me and Scott was continue to talk, I had brought up some resources that help men who batter their spouses. I could see the look on Scotts face as if he wanted to change but didn’t want to lose control and he mentioned that he liked his method of getting what he wanted. I approached him in another direction and asked him “do you want to see your children again”? And his response was yes. Then I asked him one more question and that was “are you really happy with verbally and physically hurting others to get your point across”? The room was silent for a good min or two and then I see tears come down his face, and he said that it will take time but I’m ready to try out your resource because I am not happy with the way I get my way. Nevertheless, my first resources was Crisis Connection that has a man’s intervention for program, and this program is a 26 week program and what the program does is talk to men who batter their spouses’ that violence is the root of desire in control. The topic that will be disused with Scott are Non-violence v. physical violence, Non-threatening behavior v. using intimation, and Respect v. using emotional abuse and their other topics that will be discusses too. The reason why I strongly think that this program will be good for you Scott is because with this program they also help you with your anger and there is no counseling or therapy, but they do is teach you and work with you to help maintain your control in anger and physical and verbal violence.

It all goes back to the root of his family and how his parents, not only physically, but also mentally abused him; as well as, from encountering that as a child and even with his siblings, which he did not really have a bond with them. Furthermore, gradually when he was growing up he became emotionally detached and did not know how to show love towards his former spouse. In addition to not having any remorse Scott would stack up all his frustrations and anger inside, until he then blew up and by that time he ‘black out’; and then physically or verbally abuse his wife at the time. As time went on, Scott had two children with his wife and Scott was working to make ends meet for his family, because he wanted to provide for them and he did not want his children to have the same childhood he had. His wife did not like that he was not home, so when he came home she would go straight to tell him that she was not happy. In addition, he was never home and he already felt bad because he was never home and always working. Nevertheless, everything was going downhill for Scott. Scotts angry was not getting better, he lost his brother due to a heart attack because of drugs. He wanted to a relationship with is family that he never had, but it is very hard and he does not know where to start.
