...COMM107-1501 Informational Interview Journal Entry For the interview assignment, I interviewed Ms. Julie Nguyen, senior internal auditor at Watkins, Meegan LLC. I was not as nervous for this interview, because I met Julie few times before, during the career fairs at Smith Business School, and also prepared carefully all the questions to ask Julie. Overall, the interview went very well and Julie was a helpful person to talk to about physical therapy because she has had a lot of experience in the field. The interview took place not in an office, but in Robert Smith Business School, where Julie also graduated, which made the interview feel relaxed and laid back. A lot of question I asked Julie were about the kinds of classes I would need to take and the academic plan to achieve 150 credits. Her responses mentioned Taxation, Business Law II, Governmental Accounting and Cost Accounting. Moreover, Julie also stressed the importance of networking, for which she was able to get her current job position. Julie currently works more as a CPA where it is a one-to-one interaction with the client. I asked her if it were possible to work with other specialists as a team while working with the client and she said definitely. Because of a great amount of interactive work with the clients, Julie said communication is key to developing successful client relationships. The accountant must communicate the expectations of the services offered and how the results will be quantified. If you...

...must create a program that would meet the standards and retention in the BSA program. Admission to the BSA program should be restricted to students who can demonstrate a high probability of success in the study of accounting through satisfactory academic performance, a qualifying examination, an interview, and/or other appropriate means. The school is given the privilege to require standard admission requirements to the program as reflected in its manual of regulations for students (CHED, 2007). The Accountancy program is presently known for its tough retention policy which becomes a challenge to prospective students. A retention policy is a set of guidelines in which a certain school follows a minimum grade for accountancy students in order for them to advance in the next level. Today, retention policy is a common practice in most colleges/ universities. With the increasing pressure to meet the minimum proficiency level, students who are developmentally unprepared to handle the curriculum requirements may simply require an extra year for their ability level to match the expected standards or just shift to another course. With this in mind, the study aims to propose an improved retention program to School of Accountancy and Management. Background of the Study Bachelor of Science in Accountancy is a quite difficult course. Many students end up in to other courses because they...

...Mathematics: An Integral Discipline Mathematics is one of the most foundational and elemental principles and disciplines to any educational institution. With the basic components of all mathematical disciplines and areas of studies being equal, there appears to be an inherent, social need to master this study of a seemingly complex nature, particularly since this subject is ingrained into so many important and relevant aspects of the world economy. Without the understanding and overall comprehension of at least some basic, elementary mathematical principles, it would go without saying that countless workforce employees and job seekers would fail to find the most meager of professions. It is also an unfortunate prospect to understand that mathematical principles and the study of such major applications is no longer a popular social trend. On the other hand of the social and professional spectrum, the vast majority of college students seeking future majors are leaning towards other convenient modes of study, including those in the healthcare industry and other related sciences and studies. Now understanding how modern culture had become so predisposed to ascertaining studies unrelated to heavy mathematical analytics, despite the obvious need to otherwise acquire, it will be important to frame this expose’s subject matter around the need to further explain and analyze how different regions of scholastic establishments have come to define mathematical disciplines in completely different...
