...Administrative Controls Paper Ericka Kelly SEC 578 Professor Costantini Introduction Administrative controls are very important to a company. They are formalized standards, rules, procedures, and control disciplines to ensure that the organization’s general and application controls are properly executed and enforced (Laudon, K p308). Administrative controls demonstrate due care and have an impact on corporate liability. These controls influence the choice of Technical and Physical controls and will affect projects in the IT department if missing. All of these areas will be addressed further in this paper. Administrative Controls & Due Care To understand if administrative controls demonstrate due care, there has to be an understanding of what due care is. Due care is a standard in which one must act in good faith and in a prudent manner. The goal is to avoid negligence. Without administrative controls it would be very difficult to demonstrate due care. For example, a company working with personal information such as a client’s social security or bank account number, it would be wise to have administrative controls in place. This will reduce the chances of corporate officers and any other employee being liable for failing to exercise due care. This brings us to the next section on corporate liability. Corporate Liability Many companies have to go through an audit. The audit will determine if the company...

Administrative law is a branch of law governing the creation and operation of administrative agencies. Administrative tribunals are concerned with the law governing the implementation of public programs specifically where they have the most immediate impact on people. The power delegated to administrative tribunals to regulate governmental power was created by a statute. Meaning a statute was created that authorized powers to administrative tribunals by designated actors. Administrative law is a set of principles and concepts common to all these different areas of law: Human Rights, Immigration, Law society, Health and etc.. Procedural Fairness: Procedural fairness otherwise known as ‘Natural Justice’, is an implied common law duty to act fairly in decision-making by exercising statutory powers which may affect individuals right. It is more concerned with the procedures used by the decision-maker, rather than the actual outcome reached. The requirements for procedural fairness have developed primarily through the common law. Procedural fairness requires a fair and proper procedure when making a decision. The rules of procedural fairness are enshrined in the two latin...

...The Research Branch, a small non-profit management development form, has employed Sue for the past 6 months. Sue’s responsibilities can be categorized in 3 major tasks; (1) Keeping track of the branch’s budget, (2) making your travel arrangements and providing you with graphics and work processing support, (3) providing administrative support for the other four members of the research branch. Although Sue has 15 years of secretarial and administrative experience her performance has been described as less than stellar for the last six months, and specifically over the last month has been unsatisfactory. Sue is chronically behind on the branch’s budget and not able to complete it without repeated help, travel arrangements are not always in line with the workshop schedules, workshop materials are not arranged in proper order, and she’s routinely needs help with any graphics that are not identical to what she was exposed to in training. These issues are complicated, or perhaps created, by the fact that Sue’s personal life can be distracting. The other four competent members of the branch are frustrated with Sue, feel drained by her constant need for assistance, and need to focus more on their own projects and job responsibilities. Sue does appear to recognize the importance of the completion of each task as she puts in a full eight hours day, sometimes with overtime, and is not afraid to ask for help when she needs it. Since it is explained in the case that Sue is very good at...

...Adminstrative Ethics Paper Lonijoy Gardiner HCS/ 335 June 13, 2010 Tyler Zerwekh Adminstrative Ethics Paper Today we are going look into a commissioner that is fighting to keep his job despite having a felony. Is this ethical right? What are some issues with employing an individual with felonies? These are all questions that we need to ask ourselves. This article talks about a Kentwood Commissioner Ray VerWys, in 2001 he was convicted of embezzling between “$20,000 and $50,000 involving his employer” (Lafurgey, 2011). He was also convicted of a second case and pleaded guilty later in the year. He did not tell the public when he ran for commissioner that he was convicted of felonies. His co-workers want him out of office. They feel that he was honest and that as a public official there are certain standards that need to be maintained by a public official. One unethical issue that is an issue is VerWys was not honest. In a public standard it is improtant for a person to be honest and let the public know what happened any why. We have seen many cases in government where politicans are not honest and it all comes out later in life. Take John Edwards for example, took campaign money and spent it on his mistress. He claims he does nothing wrong and should not be charged with embezzlement. According to a federal jusdge in North Carolina “We will not permit candadiates for high office to abuse their special ability to access the coffers of their political supporters...

...This report is made possible through the help and support from everyone, including: parents, teachers, family, friends, and the Almighty Allah. We would like to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude and deep regard to Ashraful Arefin for the chance to do this project. We would also like to thank him for his exemplary guidance, patience, motivation, and immense knowledge. Working under him was an extremely knowledgeable experience for us. We would also like to thank our group mates for their support and hard work throughout his project. For the preparation and the completion of the report, we have chosen a tea stall that we will base our report on. The reason behind choosing a tea stall is that it includes most of the information needed to prepare any kinds of budget starting from sales budget to the budgeted income statement and balance sheet. Every tea stall uses raw materials for production, incurs labor costs, variable and fixed manufacturing costs and selling and administrative expenses. This is why we found tea stalls the most reliable stall to prepare this report on. The tea stall we have chosen is known as “Mamun er Malai Chaa” which is located in Shantinagar bazar. Mr.Mamun, owner of the tea stall, started this stall about two years back in Shantinagar with the idea of serving people with a new taste of tea by selling Malai chaa rather than just normal tea. Within a short time, many people liked his tea and service and were impressed with the new kind...

Post your response to the following: What is DNS? How do users benefit from it? Provide a brief description of the DNS process to resolve a URL to its IP address. DNS stands for Domain Name System and essentially operates like a phone book. It keeps a list of computer names and IP addresses. Instead of typing a numerical address into his or her web browsers address bar, a user can input the name of the computer (www. hotmail. com). The request is forwarded to the users computers DNS client, and from there to the DNS server, which then forwards the user to that specific address. For users who are not mathematically inclined, it is easier to remember and input the name of a computer than it is to remember and input all of the numbers and decimals in an IP address. Also, there is no reason for DNS to rely on TCp because usually, only a single data packet is used to send messages...

And the three sources from which law is derived is common, statutory, and adminstrative law.
