Current IT Position Electronic Points of Sale (EPOS) | AEON uses such machines as EPOS in all of its supermarkets and hypermarkets. EPOS is self-contained, computerized equipment that performs all tasks of a store checkout counter. It allows payments by credit cards or bank, provides sales reports, verifies transactions, coordinates inventory data, and performs several other services normally provided by employees. |

CCTV cameras and fire alarm systems | Supermarkets AEON uses CCTV cameras to enhance the job of security guards and keep track of customers who may do illegal actions (stealing, damage of property, not suitable behavior). In many cases CCTV cameras played the key role in determining the perpetrators of various incidents. Fire alarm system is “must have” technology in every AEON supermarket. It is a device designed to alert people from visual and audio alarms when smoke or fire is present. These alarms may be activated from heat detectors, smoke detectors, or from a fire alarm pull station. In case of fire, it automatically calls fire service and turns on emergency water pressure system and sprays water all around the facility to extinguish probable hearth. |

Digital weighing scale | Another technology used by AEON is digital weighing scales. It is a device used for weighing the product (meat, vegetable, cereals, fruits etc.), and printing the price based on the weight. It is widely used device that enhances buying process and simplifies job of employee. These are universal machines that are not hard to use. |

Current Market
For halal-wide target market AEON offers mainly halal products in Malaysia. The basic strategy of the company is low price products, because the analysis and understanding of consumers led to this. Secondary strategy is “Promotional products”; many customers peck on advertising and want to save money, albeit in small quantities. Since the AEON Company expands globally, aggressively, it creates competition for many food retailer companies.
SWOT Analysis
Strengths
* Pricing Power. AEON has good price formation; customers continue to buy products in the supermarket in comparison with others. * Cost Advantages. In the price of products the company can undermine competitors; price of products exceeds the competitiveness of AEON. * Customer Loyalty. Variety of selection and choice can promote customer loyalty. * Brand Name. AEON has a well-known company among the people. It belongs to the category of 10 global retail food companies.
Weaknesses
* Less Space. To store their goods AEON has a small space and capacity. * Weak Management. Even if the company takes a good place among competitors, AEON management system is not strong. * Customer Service. Many customers, clients of AEON consider that the company is lack of customer service.
Opportunities
* New Markets. In nowadays, people want to have everything is near to their house, so AEON will open new selling points, to satisfy all customers’ needs. * International Expansion. AEON Company opens new possibilities because expands globally. * New Customers. In order to acquire more customers AEON improves sales performance.
Threats
* Intense Competition. AEON is in competition with TESCO Company in Malaysia, because TESCO supermarket provides online shopping and home delivery. Many busy people with busy schedule prefer TESCO more than AEON. * Similar Products. Competitors, from small supermarkets to large hypermarkets, offer the same products as the AEON.

Problem
It not a secret that in many supermarkets, many settlement cash desks are simply empty, and the AEON company to it confirmation. That is not a lack of labor force; many companies simply try to save money on labor. Proceeding from this, we know from experience, such cases create a huge amount of queue thread.
On the average, in one supermarket, there only 4 of 10 settlement cash desks are busy, and basically the minimum number of checks on one cashier is about 350 per day, on the average 874 (Kira and Ruben Kanayan, 2014). 56% of 8000 visitors are real buyers, 25% are people who came with buyers, and 19% are who decided not to buy because of the queue (table 1). | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday | Sunday | Week 1 | 3464 | 3579 | 3628 | 3884 | 4169 | 2506 | 2150 | Week 2 | 3891 | 3968 | 4111 | 4037 | 4503 | 3008 | 2490 | Week 3 | 3660 | 3450 | 4631 | 4844 | 4934 | 3300 | 2642 |

Table 1. Average number of buyers on days of the week in a supermarket in OFFICE AREA. Work done by Union Standard Consulting.

Solution

In the case with queue creates a question of how to improve the situation, how to keep these 19% of people. For this purpose it is necessary to work as the worker much quicker, or buyers have to pay quickly.
Recommendation for this problem is to use a Wireless Barcode Scanner (or Wireless Barcode Reader), which gives customers separately. Wireless Barcode Scanner is not stationary; device can be easily put in your pocket. Can be said that it is a common procedure of buying; you only have to scan the barcodes of the products that you choose to purchase by pressing the trigger (scanner button) and add to cart. The numbers of scanned products are automatically saves in the device memory.
The scanner device consists of five main parts, which are: 1. Infrared Scanner 2. Screen 3. Control buttons 4. Scanner Button 5. Figure 1. Wireless Barcode Scanner
Figure 1. Wireless Barcode Scanner
Connectors
On the screen of the device it will be shown a name of a product, quantity and its price; the total price of all products also will be written. AEON buyers can also remove those products from the device that he decided not to purchase. At the end it is necessary to give the device to the cashier and to pay for the bought products. Connecting Wireless Barcode Scanner to the Electronic Point of Sale system (EPoS), earlier installed on cash desk, transfers data of the purchased products of the buyer for only a few seconds.

Risk
Many of the risks to the supermarket, within the acquisition, occur on the client side. No man is really honest; none of us is above the influence of gain (Aristophanes). AEON buyers, Wireless Barcode Scanner users can scan a cheaper product than a real or at all get it without scanning.
The hidden cameras in such supermarkets as AEON can record not all "thefts", and the buyer can bypass system such simple way. Since the device is small, it may also be stolen; many people can steal something that they do not even need.

Security Measures
In a case with theft of goods or the device of calculation, it is necessary to AEON Company to install at an exit from cash desk Electronic Article Surveillance (electromagnetic systems of safety or EAS). An Electronic Article Surveillance is more sensitive; that allows finding labels and tags of the smaller size. Antennas create a magnetic field of the low and high frequency, and allow detection of the label executed from a certain alloy of metals. The longer the label, the easier it is to detect. In the same way it is necessary to install data of the Wireless Barcode Scanner into a database of Electronic Article Surveillance; so clients won't be able to steal goods, products, and devices.

Recovery Procedures
All devices are not durable; they can break at any time: the system can malfunction, someone can break or somewhere will be lost. Situation it is possible to tell the ticklish: buyer can scan all the products that added to cart and the device is not in working condition.
If the system of the Wireless Barcode Scanner is broken, it does not matter; data stored in the removable memory card can be read on other devices. If the device broke down completely with the memory card or lost, then by the old system barcodes will be read at the cash desk.

Aeons: A Short Story

...Aeons passed... worlds span and whirled... Time was motionless... It stood still―it passed through a thousand ages... No, it was only a minute or so... Two people were standing looking down on a dead man... Slowly, very slowly, Vera Claythorne and Philip Lombard lifted their heads and looked into each other's eyes... II Lombard laughed. He said: "So that's it, is it, Vera?" Vera said: "There's no one on the island―no one at all―except us two..." Her voice was a whisper - nothing more. Lombard said: "Precisely. So we know where we are, don't we?" Vera said: "How was it worked―that trick with the marble bear?" He shrugged his shoulders. "A conjuring trick, my dear―a very good one..." Their eyes met again. Vera thought:...
