American Apparel is a worldwide U.S. clothing line company, created by Dov Charney. According to the findings the author made, it was revealed that when Charney was setting up the business around 1997, his design ethic was ‘Classic Design’. Yet, his campaigns are award winning amongst the most respected competitors in the industry. American Apparel has been critiqued for starring young, innocent, teenage models. The ads are very visible in how the models are sexually used through provocative poses.
