Application Project 3

A cooperative orientation is based on the realization that an individual’s success is dependent on the success of other team members. To reach shared goals, everyone must do her or his part. (Johnson 148) I am engaged in a very active role in my children’s school, as the participating coordinator in the parent’s teachers association. I am involved in the social/recreational aspect such as fundraisers, planning field trips, school events and any extra socializing involvement amongst parents, teachers and students. The school is privately own, therefore they rely on all of the events for their financial assistance. I became a group member because I believe in creating a positive, productive and fun learning environment for children.
In this large group of over fifty people, I demonstrate cooperative orientation and I display openness and supportiveness. We all have one aim in the group and that is to accomplish success in everything we do. We are all assign different tasks through the school year and making time to do so can be very challenging. Most of the parents work full time jobs and meetings are usually after work. For this we try to help each other by working around everyone’s schedule and planning ulterior methods or substitution.
We all do our fair share in the group. We are all solely responsible for different areas within the committee. We are all mature, family orientated, motivated parents who come together to set leadership examples to our children. Therefore social loafing is minimal to none. We do socialize with each other also there are some friendships that came out of the group but we do have boundaries and respect other. Like everything else there is time and place for everything. We all take full responsibility in monitoring each others behavior, this helps in preventing unwanted
