Are Homosexual Parents Harmful?
I would first like to say that though I’m not homosexual this is one of the stupidest and most prodigious article I have ever read. It seems to be written by a “better than thou” type Christian. The part that made my jaw drop the most was when it stated that domestic violence was more prevalent in homosexual relationships. Where is this evidence? I would definitely like to see it. Heterosexual couples take a lot of things for granted that homosexual couples do not because it is not the norm for them. This will be the main argument for my reflection.
In my opinion, children do not need a male and a female parent in order to be successful adults in the future. Looking at statistics, children in a gay household are oftentimes more loved than a child in a traditional family. The reason for this is because homosexual parents are often more appreciative of the child, plan better, and go through great lengths to get a child. It does not matter if the child has a male and a female parent; only that both parents love the child and are completely open with the child about their life and the difficulties the child may encounter in school. Because the idea of a homosexual household is still a relatively new idea, a lot of people still haven’t accepted the idea of a homosexual household. Therefore, a child in a homosexual household may have to deal with more bullying at school. Those parents of a child in a homosexual household must deal with these issues as soon as they surface and monitor a child closely who may not express these things are happening at school.
As a teacher, my business would not be with the parents and their sexual life but only how it affects the child. I have no problem at all with homosexual parents. My only and singular issue comes with homosexuals who identify themselves as gay men but dress flamboyantly as “loose” women. This type of behavior would not be appropriate for a woman and most definitely should not be accepted from a male. I feel like I’m a fairly open person but in my blatantly and honest opinion there is no reason for a gay male to feel he needs to express himself in that way. That is not a good impression to leave upon.
This is an example of the people who are born gay and choose to be gay. I believe that men and women who go out of their way to appear to be of the opposite sex are doing so because of the rising trend. Of course, homosexuality has always existed but it would not be a stretch to say the percentage of homosexuals in the world is growing rapidly. Which could of course be a good thing! The more homosexual families decide to adopt children, the smaller the orphan population gets, and the more those orphan children find a loving family.
