INTRODUCTION

Welcome back to Unleash Your Wild Side Camp! Did you remember to bring your parka? Today you’re exploring polar habitats! From blizzards to igloos, it’s sure to be a chilling day of activities! The art project has two parts, so the normal order of activities has been shaken up a bit. Before trekking through the snow, lead campers in a short group discussion:

What do you know about the Arctic and Antarctica? Where is each located? What kinds of animals live in each area? What is the weather like? (On the north and south pole, winter animals like penguins and polar bears and it is very, very cold.)
Explain that the polar habitat is both really cold and snowy. It’s so cold that the ocean water freezes into ice! What would it be like to walk across a frozen ocean? What kind of …show more content…
If the paper is not square, fold one corner across to make a large triangle. Cut off the excess paper.
Fold the triangle in half to make a smaller triangle.
Place the triangle on a flat surface. The edge that was cut off needs to be facing away from you and the point on the opposite end towards you.
Fold the triangle into thirds. Fold the right side of the triangle towards the right so the fold lines up directly at the bottom point. Fold the left side over the right side. Try to get all of the folds to line up so the snowflake is as symmetrical as possible. It should look like the head of a fox.
Flip your folded paper over so you’re looking at the back. Cut off the top at an angle.
Keep the paper folded. Use the scissors to cut our small triangles and other shapes. Be careful not to cut all the way across or completely up the spin, otherwise the snowflake turns into multiple pieces.
Compare snowflakes. Are any two exactly

Comparison Paper of Isd Models

...INTRODUCTION What is an instructional Systems Design model? According to Smith and Ragan (2005), instructional design is the entire process: from the analysis of learning needs and goals, through the development of instructional materials and activities, to the evaluation of all instruction and learning activities. Spector and Muraida (1997) refer to instructional design as a structuring of the learning environment for the purpose of facilitating learning or improving learning effectiveness. Instructional design is the systematic process of translating general principles of learning and instruction into plans for instructional materials and learning (Seels and Glasgow, 1998; Morrison, Ross and Kemp, 2004). Instructional design is the application of theory to create effective instruction (Jonassen, 2001; Reigeluth, 1999). An instructional design framework focuses on the creation of a learning experience that delivers knowledge in a more effective, interactive, and engaging way, and that can be measured, managed and directed for maximum impact (Piskurich, 2000:7). Smith (2001: [online]) states that instructional design focuses on what learners are to know, the information to be provided, while the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) (2001) emphasises that instructional design is the process by which an educator determines the best teaching methods for specific learners in a specific context, in the attempt to achieve a specific goal. There are two classes...

Design for Instruction

...Nathan Clark Design for Instruction Task The information gathered from my contextual factors and pre-assessment inform me of what type of students I will be teaching. The contextual factors help me to have a better understanding of the type of demographic my students belong to and what type of learning styles they attain. This information will also allow me to know of any outside characteristics that may inhibit learning for an individual student and the students as a whole. For example, some students may have learning disabilities and the student’s as a whole may react negatively to artworks involving polytheism. Giving the pre-assessment allowed me to fully understand what level my students are performing for that particular unit. I have found that I need to focus a lot of time on vocabulary definitions and how to apply the terms to artwork. Prompt Results of Pre-Assessment The students in this introductory level drawing class consists of students that are required to take this class as an elective or students who have an interest in drawing and wish to pursue it. The students in this class have limited experience with the concepts and skills in drawing. The pre-assessment results allow for an analysis of where the students are in terms of general knowledge. The pre-assessment for learning goal one allowed me to have a base quality level of the students’ performance. It enables me to see what each student is capable of in terms of skill and...

Bilingual Education

...MEDINA-ALBAY, Ph.D Psych Professor : DR. MARY ANN VILLENA INTRODUCTION BILINGUAL EDUCATION involves teaching academic content in two languages, in a native and secondary language with varying amounts of each language used in accordance with the program model. ➢ “Bilingual Education Policy (BEP) in the Philippines is defined operationally as the separate use of Filipino and English as the media of instruction in specific subject areas.” As embodied in the DECS Order, Filipino shall be used as medium of instruction in social studies/social sciences, music, arts, physical education, home economics, practical arts and character education. English, on the other hand is allocated to science, mathematics, and technology subjects. ➢ From the above description, it is quite evident that there is confusion for some educators who defined BEP as the actual use of both languages (English and Filipino) inside the classroom. As stated above, BEP clearly states the scope and limitations of English and Filipino use.  History of Bilingual Education in the Philippines ➢ The language of instruction in the Philippines has been strongly influenced by its colonial past. ...Transmittal: Venice Art and Ceramic Titles Company Ltd. 692500 Sovetskaya Avenue, Ussuriysk, Russia 75226 8 924335 95 55 April 29, 2010 Mr. Alexey Morgunov, the Managing Director Venice Art and Ceramic Titles Company Ltd. 17 Pushkina St, Ussuriysk, Russia 6925191 Dear Mr. Alexey Morgunov: Enclosed is a copy of an Inventory Management System proposal that I completed during the fall of last year upon a request that was made to me by the IT Department Board. The main objective of the proposal was to analyze the operations of the Inventory Management system that is currently in use and come up with some its weaknesses and strengths. An integration of both would then enable the department to come up with a conclusion of a completely different system that would cover up for the shortcomings of the current system and add more value to its strengths. According to the proposal approved by the IT management Board, the proposed system would take at least three months to complete before implementation is done. The whole project would cost $1,500,000 to complete and implement. Some of the limitations as per the proposal included lack of enough capacity within the current PCs in use to accommodate the new system and so an upgrade to all the PCs was suggested. The user level of information was also to be upgraded to enable them use the new system effectively. The purpose of this letter is to request your office to consider the viability of this project in terms of cost...

Problem Solving

...Making a Tutu Chandelier Having daughters can be a wonderful learning experience. Children are always coming up with new things to create. One day in our quest for new ideas for arts and crafts day, my girls and I came across an interesting picture of a tutu chandelier. The instructions seemed simple enough so we decided to try it out. We were so pleased with the outcome that I thought it would be a good idea to share with others. To complete this project you will first need to gather all your materials. * A solid ring (I got mine for $2.30 at Hobby Lobby) * 6 inch spool of tulle * lace or decor ribbon for the outside of the ring * 8 flowers you can pop the heads off of * spool of beads for the droop * hanging bead string for the middle * ribbon to hang the chandelier * hot glue gun * hot glue sticks * scissors First lay out four ribbons on the four sides of your ring. After this, use the hot glue gun to glue the ribbons onto the ring near the top, bottom and both sides. This is what you will use to hang your tutu chandelier, so make sure they are as long or short as you need them from the destination, leaving a little room for trimming and error of course. The next step in the process is to cut all your tulle pieces out evenly. For this step, feel free to use the entire spool of tulle. Cut the pieces at about 12 inches per length. Then add to the ring in a standard no sew tutu knot. After, from the inside of the ring, add...
