Behaviour Issues In Health And Social Care Essay

At Moorlands Primary Academy when dealing with behavioural issues, we are to be following the set rules in how we manage the behaviour of all children and that we are to agree to these procedures.
Our approach to behaviour management is based around the six core values and that each classroom has 3 posters showing the guidelines principles, the awards and the consequences. We are to use these for each child no matter what class that may be.

The guidelines for the consequences are as followed:
• Warning
• Break time or lunchtime minutes lost (1-5)
• Time Out
• Sent to Senior Leader and the class teacher contacts the parents to inform them.
• Senior Leader makes contact with parents and child has severe consequence depending on the investigation.

In my opinion these set consequences are very simple rules that all staff and even children will learn must not be broken, they are also short and sweet as to not waste too much time in the classroom when using these consequences. At my time in the school I have notice most of the time this works extremely well for quite a lot of the children and that they will usually start behaving more appropriately straight after they have …show more content…
I say this a good because it will show the children that we mean of what we say and do in the classroom and to allow children to understand this and to not carry on the behaviour. For e.g. if a child was to have 1 minute of his/her break, then they will lose that time even if they have shown better behaviour throughout the rest of the time in class. I have noticed this working and that usually the child won’t behave in that way again for at least a few weeks or the rest of the year. The only time these consequence go away is after they have done of what consequence they have been given and then they have a sort of a restart after break or lunch
