At a recent monthly staff meeting various topics were part of a discussion but mostly the areas of concern were areas, which involved following procedures in regards to certain matters pertaining to the conduct of how an employee should perform and always demonstrate proper and best practice. The communications varied from making sure employees punched in on time to making sure employees followed proper procedure when exchanging shifts. I would like for consideration that this is a new department under my Management, which did not have any form of Management for almost five years. The department ran on it’s own with no direction other than the basic operation and procedure. All the communicators were all line employees for the department with myself now being the only form of Management they had to report to. This being the case, my method of communication was more set on a getting to know you format which would allow each employee to demonstrate what their level of expertise would be and how they can intake instruction and follow through accordingly.
Scheduling a staff meeting with everyone in a roundtable session felt appropriate so everyone could share their perspective, thoughts, and ideas. Also, this allowed an opportunity for an open forum to let everyone’s ideas be heard and then discussed. Each of us in a roundtable session allows us with opportunity to have a visual of each others reaction and body language to get an understanding of how we learn to recognize each other as well as it gives me an opportunity to be able to see what individuals demonstrate some form of sincerity and ability to allow opportunity to announce a certain practice and or method which could be of a concern. Communication, the way I demonstrate it here sees it and shares it, is all about coordinating action with others. It’s all about the ways in which we human beings do anything and
