...Bargaining Power of Buyers Bargaining power of buyers is really high as there are many ways to buy books and cd’s online provided the options of Barnes and Nobles website and Apple’s i tunes. But Amazon has a high customer loyalty as it attracts customers by offering low prices (Chaffey 2009). Bargaining Power of Suppliers Amazon has a very favourable relationship with publishers because of the wholesale model it uses allowing it to set the price for the consumer. Some time back when Amazon was not buying directly from main distributors. They wanted to sell the products below market price as Sony and Panasonic didn’t do direct selling. However Amazon had a unique position and advantage as it came up with its own distribution centres. Bargaining power of suppliers The power of suppliers is medium-high. Suppliers have a medium power in the sense that much of Amazon’s own inventory could be obtained from numerous suppliers across the country or even across the globe. Suppliers have a higher power given that Amazon.com cannot compete with suppliers. Amazon.com does not run any production plants. Bargaining power of buyers The bargaining power of buyers is high. Amazon.com’s customers have the option of buying the products and services they desire on the hundreds of thousands of other retail web sites on the internet. If Amazon.com does not offer low prices to satisfy the customer then the customer will search the Internet until they find that low price. Rivalry among competing...

...Why is the correct attitude essential to resolving conflict? Anne Frank had a positive attitude and so did her father. Responding to conflicts hard so be sure to have the correct attitude. People best respond to conflict with the correct attitude which is a positive attitude. The people in the book Black Ships Before Troy do not think that keeping a positive attitude can resolve conflict. They think that fighting is the best response but they lost a lot of lives. “ half of them lay slain” (Sutcliff 111), they kill each other so much. They also think that careful planning will get them what they want, but the other side thinks that also. Fighting doesn't resolve conflict. The Diary of Anne Frank and dear miss breed shows how a good attitude can help you survive. People in the Diary of Anne Frank respond well to conflict. Anne responds well, so does her father, ”it’s funny”. The conflict is big yet they can think of other things. Louise managed to find good things about the trip to the Japanese internment camp. She talks about the beauty, “most beautiful scenery” (Dear Miss Breed 19) Anne's father like anne responds well to conflict. Mr frank gave anne a present to make her feel better...

...origin The name of the breed comes from the Alani, nomadic pastoralists who arrived in Spain as part of the Migration Period in the 5th Century. These peoples were known to keep large livestock guardian dogs and pursuit dogs which became the basis for the many regional Alaunt types. The first formal, written reference to the breed in Spain is in a chapter of the 14th century "Book of the Hunt of Alfonso XI" (Libro de la Montería de Alfonso XI) in which hunting dogs called Alani are described as having beautiful colours. Dogs of this type travelled with Spanish explorers and were used as war dogs (as was their role in Eurasia before migration) in the subjugation of Indian (Native American) peoples, as well as in the capturing of slaves. ...religion Bokonon. It is established from the beginning that it is all based on lies, but the whole city of San Lorenzo worship it and follow what it says, even though it is forbidden and you will get the “hook” if you do. “Nothing in this book is true.” These were the first words given in the prologue. Immediately after this, the main character says, “Call me Jonah. My parents did, or nearly did. They called me John.” Jonah began to collect things for a book he was going to write called The Day the World Ended. It was going to be about what Americans did on that very exact day the first atomic bomb was deployed on Hiroshima, Japan. This book will never be completed. This book was meant to be a Christian book, but Jonah is now a Bokononist. If someone would’ve told him about the “bittersweet lies” the book told, he would’ve became a Bokononist from the very beginning. Bokononists believe that civilization is shaped into groups that do God’s work without ever knowing what they’re doing. A karass is what they call themselves. “All the true things I am about to tell you are shameless lies.” The warning in this is any person who can not comprehend how a useful religion can be based on lies then you will not understand the point to this book. So be it. Jonah’s karass includes the three children of Dr. Felix Hoenikker. Who is known as the “father” of the first atomic bomb. Jonah wrote a letter to the youngest of Dr. Hoenikkers children, Newton. Newton wrote back to him and explained...

...linked to the modern dog's lineage date to approximately 33,000–36,000 years ago.[4][6] Dogs' value to early human hunter-gatherers led to them quickly becoming ubiquitous across world cultures. Dogs perform many roles for people, such as hunting, herding, pulling loads, protection, assisting police and military, companionship, and, more recently, aiding handicapped individuals. This impact on human society has given them the nickname "man's best friend" in the Western world. In some cultures, however, dogs are also a source of meat.[7][8] In 2001, there were estimated to be 400 million dogs in the world.[9] Most breeds of dogs are at most a few hundred years old, having been artificially selected for particular morphologies and behaviors by people for specific functional roles. Through this selective breeding, the dog has developed into hundreds of varied breeds, and shows more behavioral and morphological variation than any other land mammal.[10] For example, height measured to the withers ranges from 15.2 centimetres (6.0 in) in the Chihuahua to about 76 cm (30 in) in the Irish Wolfhound; color varies from white through grays (usually called "blue") to black, and...

She then goes on to tell them that Kaede is the only one who can kill her, and she must. After killing the queen’s daughter, things do not return to the way they should. ...10/26/15 English 11 PD 6 Thematic Understanding of Ceremony In the book Ceremony, the thematic understanding that resonates with me the most is the one about not knowing where you fit in. In the story, the theme of Tayo being lost due to not knowing where he belonged devolved. Many of the Native Americans he knew, such as Emu, discriminated against him due to the fact that he was a “half breed.” The general population treated him differently because of the stigma and racism that was associated with Native Americans in the time period of the 1940-1950s. I as well can feel like I don’t belong sometimes. High school is a big place with many small groups and you can sometimes feel unwanted by many. I also have the cultural identity problem in that I am a first generation from Israel and it’s hard to really put me into either America or Israel because I’m a mix of the two cultures. The reaction from ourselves is understandable. As a people, we strive to fit in somewhere, it is only natural. But the fact that there will always be a part of me that is different from others helps me understand that it is ok for me to b different and to accept myself. But the truth is that there is so much hate to people that don’t fit to a particular group and this shows that in the world we live in today there is still a fear and a hate for anything that is different. As a society...

...The Underdogs by Mariano Azulea is a captivating story about the perils endured during the Mexican Revolution. It is a stunning portrayal of events given through the point of view of the main character, and leader of a rebel faction named Demetrio Macias. The book is an interesting look at how the revolution was played out between the rich elite federal government, and the poor famers of the country. Giving a unique perspective of a rebel who does not truly understand why he is fighting, but has no choice since he rebelled against the government and was now on the run. Demetrio and his band of rebels are by no means a perfect group, nor are they necessarily good people. All the men left their homes without the ability to return, all for various reasons given in the book, which leaves them no other choice but to fight to survive. The men range from many different backgrounds, from the educated to the very poor. During the first half of the book we see the perils and at times the fun the rebels are having while walking through the forests. Taking bets on how many people they have killed, or will kill during their marches, at times betting...

...because it is recognized, respected and trusted by the general body. (2) The story presents the findings in a calm manner, but still represents the findings as relatively novel. The findings are reasonably believable; the author put it nicely by saying, “The most interesting finding comes after the dogs had proved that they could distinguish happy versus angry seeing only the upper or lower half of the face. When they were next shown either the other half of the face used in the training stage, or the other halves of people's faces not used in training, the dogs could still discriminate between the happy and angry expressions.” What came as a surprise to me was the fact that the dogs could distinguish a human’s emotional expression just by seeing the upper or lower half of their face. The reason I believed this story the first time I read it was due to the fact that it was written by Stanley Coren. In the middle of his article Stanley would back up things he said with other articles written for that specific topic. He also writes almost exclusively in the canine corner section, and has many books published related to dogs. There was no specified control group,...

...Video Case: Bad Bosses If you saw the movie Office Space, character Bill Lumberg may have reminded you of someone. While many of us have encountered an unreasonable boss like Lumberg, bad bosses are no laughing matter. Having a bad relationship with a boss is one of the major reasons people seek other jobs. Half of all workers say they can do their bosses job better. Unfortunately, says Brent Rasmussen of CareerBuilder.com, leaving is usually the only way to get rid of a bad boss. Just what makes a boss bad? Generally speaking, they lack the people skills necessary to be effective leaders. Bad bosses have been characterized as greedy, condescending, even thieving, stealing good ideas and taking credit for them. Through finger pointing and yelling, bad bosses also create a stressful environment. In fact, studies have shown that stress levels and days lost to illness are lower in work places that are managed fairly. Justin Racz, in his book, 50 Bosses Worse than Yours, provides a profile of bad bosses, some based on his personal experience. The chair thrower, as the name implies, likes to through things. Racz’s advice: duck. The micromanager doesn’t give workers much breathing room, while the back stabber takes credit or places blame. The screamer is pretty much self-explanatory. Then there’s the boss who wants to be your buddy. A recent survey conducted by CareerBuilder.com found that most workers (49%) have buddy bosses; 23% reported having bosses that are never around;...
