...Running head: BOTTLENECK IN AM ROUTINE Bottleneck In AM Routine Ruth Martinez OPS/571 Operations Management January 28, 2013 Ashley Carr Bottleneck in AM Routine A flow chart was created in week one of class to see what improvements that could be made to my daily morning routine. For the following week I monitored the process and see what improvements if any could be made. Looking over the metric system I realized that I continued the same pattern each week, but realized what I could do on a consistency bases to improve my time. I will go over the bottleneck in my process and also reflect on how I can am able to apply The Goldratt’s theory of constraints in order to identify and finally overcome the bottleneck in my routine. Process Bottleneck Being able to the bottleneck can become a very important aspect of the analyzing the process because it allows for capacity to be identified in the process as well as the opportunity to increase it. Looking at the flowchart and the metric system I determined there was a few things aside from time that became my bottleneck such as over sleeping by hitting the snooze button and if I had my clothes for the day ready. A result of these two either gave me more time in the morning or delayed me to have a crunch on time. It seems that these are my two major problems in the morning everything is else is simple and flows quickly as the time permits it and allow me to rush to work on time or have time to...

Pneumococcus hits infants, toddlers, and elderly people hardest. Meningococcus targets children younger than 1 year old. Cause Before the 1990s, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) was the leading cause of bacterial meningitis, but new vaccines being given to all children as part of their routine immunizations have reduced the occurrence of invasive disease due to Haemophilus influenzae. (www.cdc.gov, 2010) Hib meningitis can cause: pneumonia, and throat swelling, and can literally infect the blood, bones, joints, and the covering of the heart. It can cause blindness, deafness, mental retardation, learning disabilities, and death. About 5 percent of kids who get Hib meningitis die even if they get treatment. Pneumococcus causes: high fever, severe headache, nausea and vomiting, stiff neck, sensitivity to light, and mental confusion. Meningococcus symptoms can start suddenly. Within a few short hours, an...

...bunnies, cats, dogs, hamsters and other friendly potential family pets. For decades, animal testing has become a routine practice for brands all though it costs billions of dollars every year. Well-known brands such as MAC, make-up forever, Benefit, Maybelline, Revlon and Marc Jacobs support animal cruelty and by buying products from these brands you are supporting the inhumane practices that these companies allow. I mean how could any sane person look at the savage experiments they conduct on unsuspecting, innocent animals and think that this is a moral thing to do? For the sake of make-up? Cosmetic testing is just animal cruelty, disguised by a label on a foundation bottle, I believe it must be discontinued....

...crucial for the infant to realize the most growth through each stage of development. When working with children, it is best to use developmentally appropriate practices (DAP), because this brings the activity into the realm of the where the child is able to work and receive the most benefit of learning for their effort. There may be little purpose in trying to train children to enhance motor skills before they are ready. Once they are ready, however, teaching and practice make a difference (Rathus 01/2010). An infant needs to be given ample time to practice his gross motor skills in order to gain control of his body. Supporting a new baby's head while they learn to control their neck is important so that they don't receive injuries to their neck or head. Once they have gained control of their neck, they need time to practice lifting their head, this can be accomplished by allowing them 'tummy time,' where they are placed on a firm surface and allowed to move on their own. As a child grows, they rapidly progress through the stages of development; they learn to hold up their head, roll over, sit up, crawl, walk and then run all of this usually by their second year of life. As the child gains confidence in his gross motor skills, he begins to focus on developing his fine motor skills. An infant starts out...

...Twenty years cannot handicap your mind for your future English 219 Jan. 28, 2015 It was time. It was overdue. She tossed the empty water bottle into the trash and opens the front door to leave her home, in the quiet neighborhood. As Laney walked into a clean updated looking office, with her scarf around her neck, she didn't want to be too late for the job interview. After all, these years, a real job interview first time in a long time. She handed the security guard an appointment card and went into the elevator, she exhaled noisily. "I'm never doing this again, I can’t believe I’m doing it now." she said, closing her blue colored eyes for a moment. Now on the second floor, she opened the glass door to Suite 2 and glanced at the welcome sign of the Medical Facility. The receptionist looked up from her desk with a smile and asked Laney to hand over her resume. Once she took Laney’s resume the receptionist let her know that it would be a few moments until Rachel, the head of HR, finished with a client and invited her to sit in the lobby to wait. With her sitting straight in a modern mustard chair by the door, Laney folded her hands on top of her legs to wait and couldn’t help but ponder her past. It was May of last year, three months after she had turned 45 and over 20 years since she had held any kind of a job. Laney never intended to become a stay-at-home mother for this long. "I loved the whole thing," Laney...

...Acid Reflux: New ways to treat an old issue Stacy C. Darracott NS304 Professor Linda Flowers Park University For my position paper I plan to discuss the several techniques used in treating acid reflux. Since the majority of the population suffers from some form of Acid Reflux, myself included, I thought that this would be a great opportunity to do some research on the different treatments, and find out exactly why and what causes it. My paper will take a closer look at the non-pharmaceutical approaches that are surgical in nature or homeopathic in nature. Lastly, my paper will not only help the reader to understand what acid reflux is exactly, but will help to inform them as well as myself, to the every changing techniques and practices of physicians who are trying to help those who suffer from acid reflux, a better a ray of choices when discussing their treatment plans. Gastro esophageal reflux disease is a consequence of the failure of the normal anti reflux barrier to protect against frequent and abnormal amounts of gastro esophageal reflux. It is the gastric contents moving effortlessly from the stomach to the esophagus. It is a normal physiologic process that occurs multiple times each day especially after large meals. Possible factors determining whether reflux occurs include abdominal straining, presence of hiatal hernia and degree of esophageal shortening and duration of transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxations. Pregnancy also increases the...

This redesign came about after careful years of market research against the conventional “brown bottle” used for 90% of all medicine dispensed. We believe that our “color coordinated” bottles for Male Adults, Female Adults, Male Children and Female Children are exactly what the public has been asking for, thereby meeting market demand as well as metrics for predictable revenue. In addition, a patented “dosage control” mechanism will allow for “as needed pills” to be properly dispensed. Included you will find a SWOT analysis including redesign Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats. The Ralont Pill Bottle will offer customers a new shift in paradigm in the way medicine is identified, dispensed and maintained in storage. No longer will there be any kind of confusion as to what medicine belongs to what person and most importantly the differences between adult and child medication. Our goal is simple, to change public perception and trust in medication bottles and create a “new standard” which will in and of itself become a product by which other products can offspring. ...You Are an Investment Analyst Accounting Management ACC 557 December 10, 2012 Analyze each company’s history, product / services, major customers, major suppliers, and leadership and provide a synopsis of each company. Pepsi-Cola began as a drink developed by a pharmacist named Caleb Bradham in his drugstore in 1893. The soft drink was made to be a tonic to aid in digestion and as a refreshing drink that gives an energy boost. This concoction made of pepsin and kola nuts was originally called “Brad’s Drink” named after its inventor, but was later changed to Pepsi-Cola to be more marketable. Originally, this beverage was sold in drug stores and at soda fountains, but was later sold in bottled form to facilitate mass distribution. The Great Depression was a major setback for many American companies and there was no exception for Pepsi. However, the company strived to remain strong and offered its product for five cents in the mid thirties while touting that their product offered twice as much for half the price of Coke’s product. During this time their ad campaigns and marketing tactics worked and their company continued to remain profitable despite a harsh economic climate. Pepsi marketed its products to virtually everyone, young and old, but they often utilized creative marketing tactics to entice new customers to try their products. In the mid 1940’s Pepsi began a marketing campaign to gain more popularity with African American customers whom the company...
