Throughout his article, “Does Fiction Matter”, Brad Meltzer certainly did not fail to prove that fiction is truly meaningful. Although our world would be exceedingly dull without fiction, these make-believe stories contribute much more than merely simple entertainment. According to Meltzer, “Fiction is how we share - and not just how we share our dreams - it’s how we share ourselves. And perhaps more important, how we connect” (paragraph 8). Fiction provides both a perspective that society conceals, and a compelling understanding of the many hard hitting realities. Fiction teaches us of morals and lessons that cannot be taught in a classroom or found on the Internet. For example, Harper Lee transformed a story of racism and inequality into
