...Meagan Koltes Shoes for Moos Case Brief Section 02 March 6, 2014 403286237 A. Problem Identification and Justification The problem in the Shoes for Moos case is the lack of definition of the Target Market. Jim isn’t sure who exactly his target audience is, which could be broken down either by type of cattle, or by geographic location. B. Alternative Identification A decision needs to be made between the alternatives of targeting towards a specific type of cow, for example, dairy or beef, Or if the product should be targeted towards a geographic location, for example a particular province. A combination of the alternatives is also available. C. Evaluative Criteria Size of the Market: The number of cows in each geographic location, and the type of cow will be evaluated against each other to figure out the best target audience for this product. Potential Sales: The sales potential of each segment of the market will be compared against each to find out which market segment is going to be the most profitable. D. Alternative Evaluation In table 1.1, I compared how many of each type of cow existed in each province. From there it was decided that the worst case scenario would be that two percent of the dairy cows from each province would become infected with a foot disease and require treatment. This number would help me determine how big of a potential market Shoes for Moos could have. As you can see in table 1.2, Quebec has the potential for having the...

...Brief Psychodynamic Therapy This paper deals with my preference for Brief Time Limited Treatment vs. open ended treatment vs. open-ended or extended treatment. If I were to enter counseling I would prefer this treatment because it deals with the presenting problem quickly and would not require me to continue to come back and stay in treatment for an extended period of time. I am a person who prefers to deal with the problem head on and not draw it out through continue discussion of my family background and how this effects me today. I feel that this type of treatment promotes mindfulness and keeping me focused on what is pertinent in my life. However, the obvious limitations of this type of therapy would be that in the future I would not be able to engage in counseling again without changing therapist. I would have to start again perhaps, with a new therapist with whom I have no rapport and who is not familiar with my case. Open-Ended treatment would allow me to discontinue treatment when necessary such as during a latent period in my life. When a life crisis arises again I could start back up with a therapist who would understand my case and history without having to repeat these details again. Limitations with this type of therapy would be that there is no formal set goal of termination. I feel that this is so necessary as I have experience so many clients who are dependent on their case managers and clinicians to make most decisions in their life. Extended therapy...

...Rodman v. New Mexico Employment Security Department, 764 P. 2d 1316 (N.M. 1988) Facts- Ms. Billie J. Rodman worked for the Presbyterian Hospital as a unit secretary for eight years. February, 1987 she was terminated from her employment due to continuous, disruptive phone calls, visits, and disruptions that caused her and her co-works many distractions and distress. She was reprimanded twice for these incidents. On the day of her termination, she had an incident with her boyfriend outside of the hospital, which caused her to rip her shirt. She apparently left with her boyfriend, went home, changed and returned to work station 35 minutes later. After this incident occurred, she kept getting disruptive phone calls and the supervisor, tired of the disruptions and her behavior, decided to send her home and later was terminated. History- The case was heard at The District Court, Bernalillo County, holding up the decision of the administration, denying the unemployment compensation to the claimant. The case was then appealed to the New Mexico Supreme Court. Issue- Did the misconduct of the employee leading to termination, rise to the level of misconduct as defined in Mitchell v. Lovington Good Samaritan, Inc., 555 P. 2d 696 (N.M. 1976)? Holdings- Yes, it did because she had prior history of being reprimanded for disruptive, continuous phone calls and visits. Rule- New Mexico Supreme Court finds this rule under the “last straw” doctrine, which a series of incidents constituting...

...Sweatt v Painter Essay In 1946, Heman Marion Sweatt, a African American man, put in a application for a University known as The University of Texas Law School. On the other hand the school wanted WHITES only. Theophilus Painter, the president of the law school, sent him a letter denying his application because of his race. The school also offered to make a University for all black students, furthermore said it would be separate but equal, that didn’t make it exceptional. So in May of 1946, Heman Marion Sweatt filed suit against Theophilus Painter and all the members of the University's Board of Regents in a Texas District Court. The court denied Heman Sweatt’s suit for an order directing his admission to Texas Law School,...

...Must Read: The Underlying Principle behind the Proposal and Presentation A proposal serves the purpose of selling an audience on something. It attempts to sway a group of people to your way of thinking. A proposal is not a term paper or a study strict. It’s supported by studies but isn’t a study in itself. It has to be structured in such a way that the reader can easily read and quickly process the information. Oftentimes the proposal is accompanied with a presentation. So, the reader will have to do double-time when it comes to information processing. Let me share with you a recent presentation horror story: A company salesperson came to my organization trying to persuade us to buy the product they were pitching. The product was a fairly good product but the pitch was horrible. The proposal was written like a study. The font was much too small and the line spacing was much too close. Additionally, the slide presentation had no pictures to set the mood and the presenter read from the slides… boring! This happens much too often. The "A" Paper example is a good proposal structure that has been used in business by me and other instructors that are business veterans. Please print out the example and follow its basic format. If you have problems creating text boxes or proper alignments please get assistance from the library staff or a friend. Changes here and there are OK. The presentation should contain between 8 to 12 slides and to be accompanied by a one-page executive briefing...

...Royale Family essay I found numerous frameworks in the extract from The Royale Family, however the first one that I noticed is lexis and within lexis, the first feature i found is taboo with the lexime "arse", this word along with "shite" and "bloody" helps me to understand the genre of the exract which in my opinion is an adult comedy because the sentences in which the words are used are written in an informal manner for example, "crab's arse my arse" , this style of language would not be appropriate for a children's TV programme or a documentary so it gives me the impression that this particular show is aimed towards people between the ages of 25 and 60. These words can also be linked to ideolect because the character that uses these words the most is Jim so i would say that it is a language style associated with that particular character which enables the audience to connect with that character and understand him. A second main feature i found used is slang with the words "mates" and "P.". Slang is a very informal language mainly exchanged between people who know each other which is why I think it is a very effective feature to use because the script is written for an acting family so the producers/authors may have used slang to engage and attract the audience and also to to allow them to connect and it takes and formal views away to create more of a humorous scene. Both of these words can link to abbreviation as well with "P." being an abbreviation of pence and "mates"...

...Chapter 5 Key terms Consumer Learning- is a process that evolves and changes as consumers acquire knowledge from experience, observation, and interactions with others and newly acquired knowledge affects future behaviour. Cues- are stimuli that direct motivated behaviour Response- is an individuals reaction to a drive or cue. Reinforcement- is the rewrd - the pleasure, enjoyement, and benefits - that the consumer receives after buying and using a product or service. Behaviour learning - is sometimes referred to as stimulus-response learning because it is based on the premise that observable to specfic external stimuli that learning has taken place. Classical conditioning- is viewed as a "knee-jerk" (or automatic) response taht builds up through repeated exposure and reinforcement. Unconditioned stimulus- feeling sad when you think about a best freind from whom you are now seperated is a natural, human response ( a stimulus taht occurs natually in response to given circumstances) Conditioned stimulus - stimulus taht become associated with a particular event or feeling as a result of repetition.
