In this assignment I will be covering the role of effective communication and interpersonal interaction in a health setting which could be places such as a care home, gp settings and so on. I will also be demonstrating the effects of the communication on an individual this will also help to demonstrate the forms of communication and which one can be most effective.
Communication is the sharing of ideas. Communication is the way we put across our thoughts and ideas. The simple act of transferring information from one place to another. There are many different types of communication these all bring out changes in our and other’s attitudes, motivate the people around us and establish and maintain relationships with others. In fact communication makes up most of our life and nearly all of our social activity, an example of then it is used in our social activity is when you go out for a chat with your friends this communication is verbal. In the health care setting different types of communication can be more common such as a group informal conversation. A group has to consist of three or more people, whilst in a health care setting this could be a gathering of the service users chatting. The conversation can be about anything and does not have to use the Queen’s English it could simply be in a colloquial form. An example of what could be said could be things such as “hey, what’s up, how ya doing”.
