Whoosh, the wind outside, the pitter pattering rain. I was a dreary night on Cape Cod. I was playing with my cousin Georgie and my sister Holly. We were making up dance routines and giggling our hearts out. We were waiting for my Aunt Kathy to arrive. She had left Philadelphia after work and she had texted to tell us that she was only 10 minutes away! We had been looking forward to her arrival all day. We looked out the window and Holly yelled,
“She’s here!”
We all barreled down the stairs to get outside. We all ran out to her car and greeted her. I yelled,
“Hi Aunt Kathy! How are you?”
“I’m doing great,” she responded, “We are so happy to be here!”

Butterflies filled my stomach. I was trying to think of all the things that she could tell us. As we walked upstairs my sister whispered to me,
“ Do you Have any clue what she is going to say?”
“NO” I whispered back.
When we got upstairs we showed her to the room she would be staying in.
“Can Georgie hear?” I asked politely
“Of course” she replied
We walked into the room and sat on the bed. She gave us that look that something was up. We were all waiting anxiously, after what seemed like ten years, she blurted out,
“Girls there is something I need to say.” she said with a sweet tone in her voice
“Ok what,” we replied in unison
“Have you been certified in babysitting?” she questioned
“OMG! YOUR PREGNANT!” we exclaimed
I burst into tears. I thought to myself, Is this really happening. I have been dreaming of this for so long. I thought back to the time when my mom told me about the age difference between her and her sisters. My mom was 11 years older then my Aunt Kathy and 15 years older then my Aunt Liz.
To finally actually have a cousin become a reality was amazing. I felt as if I was on cloud 9. I had always wanted a cousin on my mom’s side. Also they lived close, which was an added bonus. This was going to change my
