...Career Advancement or Waste of Money? Michelle Boldt MGT/521 Career Advancement or Waste of Money? Obtaining a masters degree is an honor than many people may never experience. In addition to the honor of holding the degree, an MBA will generate greater chances for promotion, accelerated leadership opportunities, and best of all, higher pay. This decision is not without its drawbacks. After completing 26 undergraduate courses to obtain a bachelors degree over the last three years the choice to return to school after a two week break was not without trepidation. However, the two main reasons I have chosen to return to the University of Phoenix to compete my Masters in Business Administration are financial and self-worth. I can not afford to pay my finical aid back yet, so by continuing my education I can defer my payments two more years, until I complete the program. Second, I never thought I would accomplish an associates degree let alone a bachelors degree, so by accomplishing an MBA, I will surpass any personal goals I previously set for myself. As this gathers the crop, it discards the waste. If there are any spoiled crops, it separates them as it does the waste. Recently there have been advancements in a newer method called Precision Farming, which has been suggested for preserving resources, preventing excess waste, and reusing old waste (Precision farming rewards at hand). This new method can be used by satellite so farmers know their surroundings at all times, and will know where they left off in the field the previous day(Precision). Another beneficial factor of this method is that it notifies the farmers where their crops are (Precision). The great improvements in farm tractors allows farmers to be able to maintain larger properties in the same amount of time it used to take to maintain smaller properties. Consequently, many people are against the billions of dollars spent in space exploration and related subjects. However, space exploration is an important activity that plays a crucial role in advancing the human race. The activity contributes significantly in furnishing people with knowledge, developing various technologies, and discovery of new elements and other matter that can be used to improve lives on earth (Harris, 2010). The money spent on space exploration is not a waste because it advances the human race through civilization. Firstly, many people are against the large funds allocated to space exploration programs, as they claim that the money can be used to end poverty and improve the environment. However, these people fail to recognize the significant contributions made by space exploration in increasing people’s knowledge. In the olden days, people believed that the earth was flat. Through exploration and scientific proof, this theory was proved wrong. This brought a new perspective to life and encouraged people to venture into scientific experiments that helped to improve human lives. Presently, no one knows whether there is life on other planets (Harris,...

Russ Bush APOL 500 (Summer 2013) Introduction to Apologetics Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary Edwin S. Krzyzek (ID# 25767621) June 16th, 2013 Introduction The scales of theology have shifted. The balance of human epistemology has shifted from a higher creator to cosmic accident. The vast majority of history has shown humans to be theistic; the most recent dot on the string of time has been that of naturalism. Where Christianity has dominated western thinking for so long, it now finds itself in the minority voice of reason. Even Christians themselves have taken to blending their views to remain contemporary. L Russ Bush addresses this proliferation of naturalism in The Advancement. An employer will be more quickly to relieve an employee of his or her position if the employee’s attitude is poor or skills are outdated. Even with the changes in the economy and job market there are opportunities to become a leader, project a positive attitude, and update current skills by acquiring higher educational certificates or degrees. “Leadership comes in many forms, and it is a behavior, not necessarily a position or job title” (Cavallari, 2012, p. CL1). Create change by simply making suggestions. Equipment budgeting may be a challenge for a company, so finding ways to eliminate waste and teaching others to do the same will save the company money. Becoming a leader means becoming trustworthy, listening to others, and sharing experience and skills. When employees lead by example, they can make small or even large changes. We all come with different skill sets, and we have the opportunity to share that with others and also to learn from others. This can make us a valuable team player. Recently, an employee was fired by my current employer simply because of a bad attitude. Of course, this was over several months and several attempts at coaching the behavior. ...that women did not even have the right to vote. Today women are allowed in nearly every field of competition and their rights, at least on paper, are equal to men’s rights. In 1986, the Wall Street Journal made popular the term “glass ceiling” which described the invisible barriers that women have to face as they approach the top of the corporate hierarchy. This glass ceiling has even branched out into “glass elevators” and “glass escalators”. This ceiling enables a woman to move ahead in the working world, but only so far, and no farther. Hence, the new terminology allowing women the opportunity to move upward but never reaching the very top. The complaint was that women were not generally allowed to be as successful, nor make as much money, as men in the same, or similar, occupations. Today many would have us believe that the glass ceiling is no longer a reality, with women demonstrating that they are just as successful as men in all occupations...
