...Change Management Memo Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which is why we are pleased to announce this major change to our corporation. Taco Bell will now be open for breakfast! Our breakfast is going to be launched started in mostly the western states and a select few states in the south that will be on a trial run. Breakfast is going to start around 9:00 o’clock a.m. and we are going to stop serving at 11:00 a.m. The main breakfast item on the menu will be breakfast burritos. Burritos will be filled with eggs, cheese, and the customer’s choice of bacon, sausage, or steak. We will be teaming up with different partners such as Cinnabon©, Seattle’s Best Coffee©, and Johnsonville©. Type of Change Involved The idea is to bring breakfast to the daily menu. Millions of customer visits different fast food restaurants to get breakfast in the mornings and with millions of dollars in profits back in 2014, the purpose is to create a new market and extend our possibilities of growing financially and create a different image that will attract a targeted number of new customers. Ever since the establishment of the company, the growth on popularity was attracted a great percentage of Male customer leaving a great number of possibilities to grow on different demographics. Not only did the menu introduce completely new tastes to the brand, but it’s also helping tap into previously hard-to-reach demographics—women in particular. “People who … may not have been attracted to Taco...

...different readings I noted one specific passage that resonated with me due to the nature of my profession. ‘Changing Higher Education Institutions and Nonprofit Organizations’ spoke constant change in both the nonprofit and higher education sectors (Burke P. 18). As I highlighted and starred this section I knew that’s where I wanted begin the search for my voice in OD. Throughout this reading time relevance was a constant bookmark for me in understanding the thought process of the current state of OD in which ideas were being presented. I found myself jotting down the years where change occurred and what insight it brought to OD. After I noted the year I made a reference to historical events happening during that era to really get a sense of the national or even global perspective of where OD evolved. * 1939 the emergence of OD practices lay its foundation * 1940’s the birth of T-Groups to learn about human behavior * 1950’s, OD was an “intellectual crusade” and reached its peak * 1980’s OD focused on profitability and not people, saw its decline * Today is more academia focused and endless possibilities (Burnes & Cooke ) The actualization of OD for me was the emergence of T-groups. The concept of individual development and growth to bring about true change speaks to the social understanding of...

...Accounting Memo Summary BCOM/230 Accounting Memo Summary The time of an Executive is extremely valuable, thus the information you’re going to present must be equally as valuable. The information must be presented to them in a manner that is easy to understand and comprehend. This will be what they use to base they their decision on, or at least explore the possible benefits further. This summary should be started off with the same change that has greatly benefited a competitor recently. (i.e. the news about $9M in tax refunds for Macy’s) This would be enough to spark this person’s interest for sure. Then, data and figures should be provided regarding how this change would directly affect our company, not just “because someone else did it.” Be sure to list the advantages and disadvantages, to show that this has been looked at in an objective manner. Is the overall and ongoing benefit worth the cost of changing the way we account for inventory on our P&L’s? (i.e. IT work, reporting changes, legal fees for case vs. U.S., etc.) Making a change like this will have an impact on more than one department. Information like this would be most easily communicated with the use of Powerpoint slides and graphs for quick and easy analysis. This isn’t just an interoffice memo and shouldn’t have that look. It should be presented in a more formal manner. The information should be concise. If it’s too wordy, the actual point of the intended message may not get across, especially...

...Managerial Communication Writing Exercise In this exercise I was given two different examples to critique. I will list all my changes below on how I think each of these could be changed to make them better. Example one is feel is written better than example 2 and there seems to be less changes that need to be made. Proof reading your own work and even asking someone else to do it for you can help ensure that your writing piece is professional. Example 1: The first part of this example is the header or greeting. This is located in lines 1-6. The order of each line should be like this: who the document is to, and then who the document is from, who the document should be carbon copied to, the subject and then the date. On line six, you can remove the person's name since you have already listed this in the header on line one. In the first paragraph, the date in line seven should be listed to read June 11-22, 2008. This provides a full and complete date for the recipient. The word not doesn't need to be capitalized in this sentence. If this word should stand out underline would look more professional. Lines 10-13 is the middle paragraph of the document. This paragraph should change the beginning of it to read as this memo is about the addition of Silent Watch to our company systems. Then the next sentence should be changed to read. Inform all employees that they should limit their computer use and e-mail to work projects only and that their work would be monitored. ...

...Business Writing Portfolio Outline Chapters 1. Cover page 2. Outline of Assignment 3. A Business Letter 4. A Business Memo 5. An E-mail Message 6. Reflection Dear Store managers: The company is writing this letter to inform every one of the new changes in the company that are effective immediately. As we all know the economy is changing and gas prices are on the rise and it is causing issues amongst our workers. In order to comply with these issues we have developed a plan to alleviate this situation. The company has decided to cut the hours of the full-time employees and managers. The store has placed them on a 10-hour, four-day work week. The store has placed the part-time workers on a minimal schedule. Their schedule will consist of one, two, or three day work week depending on the full-timer’s schedules. The stores hours of operations have also changed. We will no longer be open on Sundays. Monday through Saturday the store will open an hour later, and the store will close an hour earlier. The reasoning behind all of this is due to the downturn of the economy in addition to keeping business cost down. As a member of the team I know we must place the well-being of our workers first. Our workers are the backbone of the store, if they leave, then where would we be as a retail store. Our workers are who keep the business running. During these hard economic times, adjusting the schedules and changing hours of...

Use these ideas to develop reader benefits for memos, survey questions, or content for the bodies of a report. Talking to your audience can also help involve the audience in the planning process and help to understand the social and political relationships among readers. In this paper Team B will set up a plan to implement the operational changes set forth by Desert Communications. Presenting and training for the change Due to the Desert’s declining communications market they have decided to add additional services to boost their profits. Some of the new services will include phone insurance, additional minutes, and road side service. There will be a meeting to present the proposed changes to the team. ...The Ways Nestle Managed Its Environment Over Time Nestle used different ways to manage its environment. It did this through expansion of the product offering, expansion of the customer base, and by developing lower-cost ways to make and sell products. Early on, Nestle managed its environment by expanding into new markets, in both developing and emerging nations. As trade barriers fell, the CEO of Nestle Barbeck-Latmathe seized the opportunity and decided it’s the right time for Nestle to expand geographically into the developed and emerging markets such as those in Eastern Europe, India and Asia. By doing this, Barbeck drove Nestle’s performance dramatically, taking into consideration the massive number of potential customers in these regions and the enlargement in Nestle’s customer’s base. In the 1990’s; Nestle managed its environment by acquiring other companies. The companies which Neslte acquired at that time included U.S. food companies Carnation, Buitoni Pasta, Ralston Purina, Dreyer’s ice cream and Chef America, the British chocolate maker Rowntree, the French bottled water company Perrier, and the Mexican food maker Ortega. It is noticeable that Neslte regards acquisitions and efforts at diversification as logical ways to supplement their business. Nestle only acquires food making companies, the business it has special knowledge and expertise in. After all, Barbeck’s intentions were to customize these products to suit the tastes of customers in different countries...

...A Raisin in the Sun Act III-A Lesson Learned In the final scene in “A raisin in the Sun,” some very important and much needed lessons are learned. Life changing decisions are made and for the better. In the last scene, Walter calls Lindner over to agree to take payment in lieu of moving into the all white neighborhood. Walter, as usual, can only think of money, and in his mind believes the large payoff from Lindner will be well worth selling out his family’s pride and honor. Lena decides, as Walter’s mother, to force his son Travis to stay to witness this life changing moral decision, in hopes that Walter will come to his senses; to everyone’s surprise he does. Walter looks into his son’s eyes and can’t sell his family short with his son watching. He decides to do what is best for the family’s morale rather than do what will put money in his pocket. That one decision shows the enormous lesson learned by Walter and how he changed. Character: The characters are well illustrated for us by the way they speak, their actions, and reactions to things. It is clear that Lena (Mama) has very little education and comes from a different time than the others. Ruth and Walter, the next generation, are slightly better spoken but still lack the educated speech that Beneatha and Travis, even younger, display with their current educations. Mama (Lena) is described as a big, strong woman, which is shown by how she reacts to the other characters, steering them the way she wants and mothering...
