An arrest and conviction for driving while intoxicated (DWI) can be a devastating experience. Not only does driving drunk place other drivers at risk, it can also ruin a driver’s reputation, employment, and relationships, not to mention the potential for hefty fines and jail time. Although few people who would condemn an occasional drink or two with friends or co-workers, it’s crucial to practice responsible drinking habits in order to avoid a DWI charge.

If you are grabbing a night cap or attending a social function where drinking is involved, the following tactics will help in preventing a DWI:
• Include Food: Drinking on an empty stomach will allow your body to absorb alcohol more quickly. This will raises your BAC (blood alcohol content)
