Alarcon who is a senior judge and Paula M. Mitchell who is a professor in Loyola Law School, so the audience can trust the data and notice the expensive death penalty system in California. I also cited and analyzed the information from the Death Penalty Information Center (DPIC) and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). For AP, I did a rhetorical analysis to answer “who persuade whom for what and how”. I quoted credible resource claimed by professional attorneys, officials and professors to analyze the criteria of Prop 62 and Prop...

...Romeo and Juliet During the course of the past few weeks my group and I had been working on a modernized version if Romeo and Juliet. We had taken a scene from the book, and chose a theme to base our scene on. In order to make the scene modern we edited many lines, and made them similar to the way the characters from our theme actually spoke. We designed new props, and changed the characters clothing. Throughout the 1590’s Shakespeare wrote many plays and sonnets. Some of his work included Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, etc. His way of writing was, at that time, the way people actually spoke. People back then used to speak, what we call today, Elizabethan dialect. Elizabethan dialect is not very different from Modern English. With Elizabethan dialect, word order was pretty flexible. And Shakespeare wrote dramatic poetry, not standard prose, which gave some greater license in expression. However, Elizabethan remains a sibling of our own tongue, and hence, accessible. Although the Elizabethan dialect differs slightly from Modern English, the principles are generally the same. There are some (present day) anomalies with prepositional usage and verb agreement, and certainly a number of Shakespeare's words have shifted meanings or dropped, with age, from the present vocabulary. The English language has varied a lot since the beginning of time. Now day’s meanings of words have been changed. Many slang words have been created to adapt to the different cultures, and...

...Production Designers are the visual artists and storytellers, who, in consultation primarily with the director, create and develop the overall look, atmosphere and emotion that move the story. They do this through the conception and creation of stage sets and the selection and alteration of practical locations and backgrounds. Production Designers also collaborate with the visual effects team and provide the designs necessary to maintain a coherent blend between the look of the production, cinematography and the post-production visual effects footage. Production Designers are more than just motion picture architects and engineers who build sets. They are involved in the overall production design and/or selections of visual effects, lighting, props and set dressing. They communicate regularly with producers, directors and cinematographers and collaborate consistently with the second unit, stunts, special effects and numerous other departments. They also provide all necessary backgrounds and ensure that all sets are well photographed and contribute to the totality of the film. Production Designers are artists who adapt their style to all types of films. The scope of their talent is limitless. Their imaginations soar within a practical and economic framework. They make seemingly impossible things possible for filming, all the while under the pressures of money and time. The Production Designer typically has a staff that often includes an Art Director(s) and/or Assistant Art Director(s)...

...you relax (even though you earned it by finishing your assignment faster, right?). What do you do? Quit? File a complaint? Or slow down? These instructions are here for if you decide to reward your own efficiency by using that extra time you earned for R&R--without your boss noticing. Know what the standards are. At the end of the day, you still have to meet those standards if you want to keep your job. The main thing you should know is how much time your manager or boss expects you to spend on a particular project or assignment. Spend that amount of time on it--no more, no less (unless, of course, efficiency is actually rewarded in your position, not punished). If, for example, your boss expects you to spend 40 minutes on a task but you know you can get it done in 20 minutes, you should be able to sprinkle another 20 minutes of "fun time" in (broken up into 3-5 minute intervals) and still get the job done in have a totally clean desk. Fill your work area with several projects that you are in the process of doing (or not doing, as the case may be). Cover your desk with open binders, highlighted reports, and sticky notes all over the place—make your workspace look like a war zone....

...of rules governing interaction between other players (consider a war game) (Kimball, 2012). James Kimball has the single most popular LARP in the area, housed out of Sparta New, New Jersey. My first experience with the business was being brought by a friend at age thirteen and lying about my age to get in. These were the early years of the business before LARPing had become popular; At this point of the business, weapons for combat for the majority of players seemed silly; they were pieces of PVC wrapped in foam and covered with duct tape. The enterprise rented weekends at camps and charged players admission to play a game under the rules created by the business and provided a place to sleep and one meal in a fantasy setting, as well as props to keep the game running such as masks, weapons to use or rent, and various medieval costuming. Over the next ten years, the game grew so popular from its original cast of 20 dedicated players, to over 200 a month; and generated enough profit to fuel the purchase of an entire national park, Camp Sacajawea in Sparta New Jersey (Kimball, 2012). Staffing At the start of every LARP, the creation of the business and the product are hugely done in part by donations of players to the business. This includes time it takes to enforce the rules, create scenarios or challenges for players to overcome,...

...Dry Powder One Chart That Shows How Petrified Everyone Is Over China * $236 billion spent boosting stocks, reserves down $286 billion * Mizuho sees fixed asset investment of $1.6 trillion in 2-3 yrs Share on FacebookShare on Twitter When Premier Li Keqiang took the stage Thursday at the World Economic Forum’s “Summer Davos” meeting in Dalian, he told business leaders that although China faces challenges, growth is on track and fundamentals remain sound. The upbeat message is all part of a ‘New Normal’ narrative from China’s leadership as the economy transitions from relying on heavy industry and debt to one driven by consumption and services. What Li didn’t mention was the spiraling bill associated with keeping the economy on course to hit the Communist Party’s growth target of about 7 percent for this year. From building bridges and highways to shoring up the nation’s currency and stock markets, China is rolling out hundreds of billions of dollars in its biggest stimulus since the package that followed the 2008 global financial crisis. More spending is coming, with the finance ministry...

...Themes, Entertainment ________________________________________ The theme park, as an experience design, differs from amusement parks in the critical design intent of its architects. Theme landscapes are developed to distill a glimpse of world /out of this world locations, not unlike a world's fair, at a single location. These entertainment complexes are familiar vacation territories for generations of the world's travel public, as theme parks are deliberately designed to be internationally-focused attractants. The successful dynamism of these landscapes designed for appeal and dependable itinerary offer assurances of what can be expected, with safety and value for the expense of time and money. Generally, themed landscapes perpetuate and promote folk history and cultural traditions, as these are exploited, yet celebrated, simultaneously. Perception of space in the themed environment, without apologies, is inauthentic, but never-the-less successful, and delightful moments for the viewer. Intentionally, architecture is manipulated in order to impart the necessary factors which will aid in promoting happiness by use of ironic realism. Despite pretentions, everyone enjoys themed experiences at some level. Ambivalent designers are not undermined by the pristine and ineffectual notions the design profession propagates on what characterizes good design. Rather, the successful destination architect gives social value and art to underappreciated human elements in architecture. Human...
