Embarking upon this extensive journey, my fellow pilgrims and I felt nervous, because we did not know what we would find there. While I felt anxious upon leaving, I could tell the mariners felt excited and confident which caused me to feel better. Our leader was also hopeful about the trip because we had God on our side. At first, the journey was pleasant with calm seas and we, the pilgrims, were thinking, "It's a pleasant journey.", but then a horrendous storm came, which caused all of us, pilgrims, to become scared. We, the pilgrims, saw enormous waves and powerful winds, which caused the vessel to steer off course. While inside the ship, my fellow pilgrims and I all huddled together for warmth in this freezing weather.We were all terrified by the sound of the waves crashing into the ship. While in this crisis, everyone that was well was needed; I, myself, took care of the unwell and gathered food, water, and wood to help out in every way possible. However, the reverend elder, William Brewster and the Captain, Christopher Jones, were still well and helping all of the sick. All of the fishermen were ill and all they wanted was beer from the Governor. All of the company was completely miserable and had no hope; we went from prosperous times to poor times. Many of our people, became hostile to one another and would not help one another through this tragic time. I did my best to stay positive and kind throughout this time.
