...Qs- 2 ans------ A company trying to establish its product or service in today's market now has the benefit of the web as an efficient marketing tool. Quicker than ever, the web can help a company determine if its new products or services will be a success versus a flop. For many products and services the web can directly facilitate the traditional "Four P's" in a marketing strategy: Product, Price, Place and Promotion. Every marketer needs to consider how the web will play a part in guiding the growth of the company through marketing its products or services. The job of media planning is to determine the best combination of media to achieve the marketing campaign objectives. In the process of planning, the media planner needs to answer questions such as: * How many of the audience can be reached through the various media? * On which media (and ad vehicles) should the ads be placed? * How frequent should the ads be placed? * How much money should be spent in each medium? Media planning's major steps include: * 1 - Targeting, * 2 - Environmental scan, * 3 - Understanding the audience, * 4 - Determination of content, * 5 - Control.[1] The word Media came from the Latin word "Middle". Media carry message to or from a targeted audience and can add meaning to the message. Media Planning, in advertising, is a series of decisions involving the delivery of message to the targeted audience. Media Plan, is the plan that details the usage of...

Decisions are made every day to keep the organization operating. Most organizations start from the top making decisions and send the decisions down the organization chains to achieve the goals the organization wants to accomplish. 1. Outline a plan that will assess the effectiveness of the market structure for the company’s operations. Note: In Assignment 1, the assumption was that the market structure [or selling environment] was perfectly competitive and that the equilibrium price was to be determined by setting QD equal to QS. ...Executive Summary The Internet has opened up a new horizon for trade and commerce, namely electronic commerce (e-commerce). E-commerce entails the use of the Internet in the marketing, identification, payment and delivery of goods and services. This paper highlights the status, statutes, potential and constraints to e-commerce development in Bangladesh. Both the statutory laws as well as the challenges in implementing them are discussed. Major legal, regulatory and institutional constraints to e-commerce are identified. The paper also lists specific policy changes aimed at bringing improvements to the legal and regulatory environment affecting e-commerce. Dimensions of E-Commerce The three dimensions of e-commerce are Business-to-Consumers (B2C), Business-to Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G). B2C e-commerce is unlikely to be of much use in the near future in Bangladesh because of low per capita income, a weak infrastructural and legal environment, lack of trust between business and consumers. B2C for cross border trade is also limited by the factors suggested for the domestic front. In addition, non-availability of international credit cards, foreign currency remittance restrictions, delays and informal payments at customs clearance even for small value and quantity items will discourage B2C. The B2B application already exists in the export sector of Bangladesh, especially in the Ready Made Garments (RMG) industry. RMG has the lion’s share of the...

...AFTER READING THIS CHAPTER, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO: 1 Discuss price elasticity of demand and how it can be applied. 2 Explain the usefulness of the total revenue test for price elasticity of demand. 3 Describe price elasticity of supply and how it can be applied. 4 Apply cross elasticity of demand and income elasticity of demand. 4 Elasticity In this chapter we extend Chapter 3’s discussion of demand and supply by explaining elasticity, an extremely important concept that helps us answer such questions as: Why do buyers of some products (for example, ocean cruises) respond to price increases by substantially reducing their purchases while buyers of other products (say, gasoline) respond by only slightly cutting back their purchases? Why do higher market prices for some products (for example, chicken) cause producers to greatly increase their output while price rises for other products (say, gold) cause only limited increases in output? Why does the demand for some products (for example, books) rise a great deal when household income increases while the demand for other products (say, milk) rises just a little? Elasticity extends our understanding of markets by letting us know the degree to which changes in prices and incomes affect supply and demand. Sometimes the responses are substantial, other times minimal or even nonexistent. But by knowing what to expect, businesses and the government can do a better job in deciding what to produce, how much to charge, and, surprisingly...

...FedEx Corporation Strategic Audit May 14, 2004 MGMT 449 Prepared by: Clement Chen Lisa Duong Hideo Yang Marny Susanty Mario Vellandi Andrea Betro Forward: This company for this case analysis was chosen by me, Mario Vellandi. I found FedEx interesting because they are one of the top four logistics companies in the world with 2002 group revenues of $24.2 billion. Since I was studying the transport industry, I found them to be an excellent company to analyze while in Strategic Management. Research Process To prepare for this case, I had performed primarily all the research for this case. This process involved first going to the firm’s SEC filings on its website, then downloading the .rtf version of its 2003 10-K, and the following 10-Qs and pre-announcements. After having read and highlighted some 65 pages and notating applicable data for each section of the strategic audit, I copied the data into individual Word documents titled after each respective category. I also utilized company info from the investors section of its site. Next I used the standard and news search functions of Google, among other sites, by combing the term fedex with a combination of various business terms such as competition, weaknesses, swot analysis, and commercials. I had also used combinations with competitors’ names and specific business functions. Next, I had used the advanced features to limit my searches in two ways: by data type, and by domain extension. I found relevant existing secondary...
