REPORTER: The reporter (Kelly) called with concerns for the victim, Preston (special needs child). According to the reporter, the child began eloping (running) from the teachers, and he becomes aggressive when they try to stop him. There is a concern regarding the child being physically aggressive towards self and others. Also, there is a concern about the dangers towards self and others. The child becomes uncontrollable when he gets into a rage. When all of this began, the child received a Complete Psychological Assessment by Dr. Linda Bell. The child's developmental status was tested by Shawn Ladnier. Bell said the child is running away (everywhere/ even at the doctor's office), but he doesn't know where he's running to. The child believes that these characters are going to get him, and he tries to runaway from school (and wherever he goes). During the meeting on Wednesday,the mother stated that Jason makes a panting sound right before he gets somebody. The reporter stated that the mother was very nonchalant about it when she said it.The paternal grandmother (Glenda Bates) reported that the parents are allowing the child to watch scary movies. The father is explosive, and he has lost his temper on several occasions (on the phone with the nurse practitioner and another nurse on yesterday). In the meeting, Dr. Bell told the mother to get rid of the doll, and the mother said she paid 60 dollars for it. The reporter said the child is in a state of trauma. During the IEP meeting, the team recommend that he be referred to the Gulf Oak Therapeutic Day School (James Baldree), and a tour was scheduled for Thursday morning (10/19/2017) at 8:00am.
