Introduction
Kudler Fine Foods is a specialty food store which provides fine foods, wines, and related needs to the San Diego metropolitan area. The company has three locations and offers bakery and pastry, produce, meat and seafood, condiments, packaged foods, cheese, and specialty dairy products. Kudler is collecting data to determine the business and cost relevance toward a revenue increase through a frequent shopper program.
Considerations
To properly decide the value of a frequent shopper program, Kudler is relying on tracking purchase behavior at the individual customer level as well as providing high value incentives through a loyalty points program (University of Phoenix, 2010). This process will show Kudler purchase behavior patterns of their customers and, in turn, can modify its processes to satisfy those valued customers. The bottom line is quality over price value to these special customers.
Establishing a point of sale system is the first step in developing this program, along with an online shopping history database, and creating altered communications between the point of sale system and the loyalty points program through the frequent shopper program. In creating a frequent food shopper program there are legal, ethical, and security considerations to take into account to make sure the development of this program is handled properly. Part of the development of the frequent food shopper program is to offer a loyalty points program where the customer can trade those points in for high end gift items, airline first-class upgrades, or other specialty foods.
To enable Kudler to provide this program through e-commerce several legal concerns need to be addressed. Careful research will provide information regarding electronic contracts for online business transactions. These contracts are legally bound all around the world. Another point to address is
