Refining
My chosen research project topic is Endometriosis and my topic question is “How does Endometriosis impinge on well-being?” I have chosen this topic because I would like to research in depth about this disease as I have always had an interest in the health field and would like to have a career in this industry once I finish year twelve and university. Aside from having an interest, I know someone who is suffering from Endometriosis and I would like to gain more knowledge about the detrimental impact associated with the disease.
By utilising the ‘general to specific triangle’ task sheet, I was able to get an idea of my possible research questions. The research questions I came up with were ‘What are the physical and social impact of Endometriosis?’ and ‘How does Endometriosis impact the female body?” After discussing the potential questions with my Research Project teacher, I refined the question to ‘How effective are the current treatment options for Endometriosis?” However, after submitting the approval form, there were suggestions made by my teacher to refine and change my …show more content…
Capabilities
The capabilities I will be developing throughout the Research Project are Literacy and Ethical Understanding. I have chosen to develop Literacy as one of my capabilities because English is my second language. To develop this capability, I will be communicating and engaging with a wide range of people such as gynaecologists and women who are suffering from Endometriosis, analysing primary and secondary sources, asking questions and collating people’s opinions and answers.
