...Marketing Plan Comparative Analysis: L’eau a la Bouche & Sustainable Sanity Marketing 301 The following is a comparative analysis of two marketing plans for the start-up businesses of L’eau a la Bouche and Sustainable Sanity. Spelling & Grammar L’eau a la Bouche Correct spelling and grammar are imperative when presenting ideas to an audience in a clear, concise manner. The spelling and grammar for L’eau a la Bouche’s marketing plan could be improved upon – in some cases words were misspelled or misused. While the plan was easy to read through in general, the style, word choice and spelling/grammar errors were a bit distracting and as a result it took a bit more time to read through. In all, the author’s message was conveyed and the depth of detail provided more clarity. Sustainable Sanity The spelling and grammar for Sustainable Sanity’s marketing plan was overall very good. There were very few spelling errors but there were some noticeable grammar errors. In this plan, however, the errors weren’t as distracting as L’eau a la Bouche’s plan which made it easier to read through. Executive Summary L’eau a la Bouche Overall, the author did a very good job of highlighting the key areas to be included in an Executive Summary: * Company Profile * Mission/Vision * Target Markets * Relevant Trends * Company Form * Management * Short- and Long-Term Objectives * Financial Goals One key area that could have been...

...some of the information on teen sex frightening. It is a subject I read, talk, and learn as much about as I can. The information I gather will help me filter fact from fiction. I want that knowledge to help my teenager thrive in this difficult time. In reading about this problem, I have learned that there are many sources of information. This information helps understand the scope of the problem, the consequences on youth, and the effects on families, schools and the community. It also explains the relationship between sex and other at risk behaviors and, thankfully, ideas on ways to prevent it or at least intervene if it has already happened. When I read the 2005 Wisconsin Youth Risk Behavior Survey Executive Summary and found that 40 percent of teens surveyed have already had sex, I was astonished (Wisconsin). The survey is a questionnaire that 2,389 students in 52 public high schools completed anonymously. Although the statistics are frightening, the reality is that many more teens are experimenting with sex. One way they are experimenting is with oral sex. In fact, oral sex is more common than intercourse. “Oral sex is often viewed so casually that it needn’t even occur within the confines of a relationship…it can happen at parties, possibly with multiple partners” (“Teens” 1). Donna Jolley, a psychotherapist who treats families, agrees that oral sex among teens is on the rise. She believes teens view oral sex as “less...

...KUDLER FINE FOODS PROBLEM STATEMENT Kudler Fine Foods Problem Statement Paul Caruso University of Phoenix Kudler Fine Foods Problem Statement Kudler Fine Foods is a premiere gourmet grocery store established in 1998 by Kathy Kudler in La Jolla, California. Kathy’s vision was inspired by her passion for gourmet food and the inability to complete her gourmet shopping at one location. Kudler Fine Foods gourmet shopping experience intends to offer the highest quality in products with highly paid specialists on hand to assist the customers and provide the largest selection (i.e. 16 different varieties of apples are stocked) all at one location. Other revenue sources for Kudler are a very basic web site and a catering business that has yet to be properly promoted. Currently, the upscale gourmet grocery store has three locations all handpicked by Kathy and she has plans for further expansion. Although Kathy has no experience in operating a gourmet grocery food shop, she hires and fires, places weekly orders, review vendor payments, and is expected to meet and greet customers. The problem Kudler Fine Foods has is that its management has no time for strategic planning and the company does not have a dedicated visionary leader; instead, the leader is consumed with operational planning and middle management type responsibilities (i.e. short term planning). Kudler Fine Foods must consider taking on outside management to assist in running the operation and expanding...

...Early Education Rizal’s first teacher was his mother, Teodora Alonso. As a tutor, Doña Teodora discovered that her son had a creative and in-depth talent for poetry so she encouraged him to write poems to reduce the monotony of memorizing the ABC’s and to stimulate her son’s imagination. As Rizal grew older, his parents employed private tutors. His first private tutor was Maestro Celestino, followed by Maestro Lucas Padua and later, an old man named Leon Monroy. Monroy lived at the Rizal residence and instructed Jose in Spanish and Latin. Unfortunately, after 5 months of teaching, he passed away. After Monroy’s death, Rizal’s parents decided to send him to a private school in Biñan. Life and Studies in Ateneo (1872-1877) In 1865, college began to function in the Philippines when the Jesuits returned. Jesuits were considered as the best educators in Spain, and perhaps in Europe. So they established an institution called the Ateneo de Municipal. The Instruction of Jesuitical system was considered advanced. Their methods were less mechanical and rigid in discipline. Jesuits introduced physical culture as well as art cultivation, such as music, drawing, and painting. Agriculture, commerce, and mechanics were part of their vocational courses. Being a religious institution, Ateneo’s principal purpose was to mold character. Rizal entered Ateneo de Municipal in 1872. He describe his first professor, Fr. Jose Bech as a “man of high stature; lean body, bent forward; quick...

...fascinating culture filled with centuries of customs and etiquette built “brick by brick.” With America being a much younger nation, I think it would be very important to accommodate and adapt to their techniques and business communication strategies as opposed to Americans attempting to force our techniques and business communication strategies on them. Based on my research, it doesn’t seem like we would be given much choice in the matter. The French are so adamant about their deep culture and manners that one would basically have to accommodate them or face a failed attempt to obtain a business relationship with them. The report goes into greater detail about these issues. Feel free to contact me with any further questions. Executive Summary This report gives a brief comparison of business communication between France and the United States. Speak French Fluently, or Not At All The French are very proud of their language. It is one of the most endeared languages in the world, and widely known as “the language of love.” Therefore, one must be able to speak French very well in order to communicate successfully with them, especially in business. Style, or be profiled Paris may be one of the fashion capitals of the world, but France in its entirety is a very fashion driven country. The French pay more attention to the details of their dress than most other things, so you can bet they’ll be paying attention to yours as you arrive for a business meeting. Keep it Light ...

...responsibility. The focus is on leaders rather than on a general treatment of business ethics, and includes a summary of the theory of ethics. Skill building is also incorporated into this chapter. CHAPTER OUTLINE AND LECTURE NOTES Being ethical and socially responsible is part of being an effective leader even if many financially successful executives are unethical and socially irresponsible. I. PRINCIPLES OF ETHICAL AND MORAL LEADERSHIP Ethics is the study of moral obligations, or separating right from wrong. Also, ethics are the accepted guidelines of behavior for groups or institutions. Morals are an individual’s determination of what is right or wrong and is influenced by his or her values. A moral leader will practice good ethics. Edwin H. Locke argues that ethics is at the center of leadership because the goal of a rational leader is to merge the interests of all parties so that everyone benefits and the organization prospers. A. Five Ethical Leadership Behaviors 1. Be Honest and Trustworthy and Have Integrity in Dealing with Others. Trustworthiness contributes to leadership effectiveness. It appears, however, that trust in business leaders is low. Integrity refers to loyalty to rational principles, thereby practicing what one preaches regardless of emotional or social pressure. (A criminal can have integrity by consistently engaging in criminal behavior.) 2. Pay Attention to All Stakeholders. Maximizing shareholder wealth is not a...

...Patton (2006), television commercials have long been an effective means of advertising products. Today they are less dominant in the television landscape due to the rise of TiVo, commercial free cable and other forms of video entertainment. New types of advertising like sponsorship of sporting events featured on television and the placement of products within shows are growing, but traditional commercials still take up significant airtime and account for a large amount of broadcaster revenue. Few television viewers have not been exposed to television commercials. Advertising involves programming that is paid for by companies and institutions and that relays a message to viewers. Often, they helped shape popular culture and succeeded in both engaging and defining audiences (Byrne, n. d.). There is no strict definition of an independent short film, despite being an established form of art. In the broadest sense, an independent short film is a production that is less than 80 minutes in length and is produced outside...

...“A Scrap of Time” An Emotional Take on the Holocaust The work of Ida Fink, the author of “A Scrap of Time” has been characterized as cold, showing a lack of compassion, and stating facts which only appeal to your sense of logic. While Fink could very well be stating facts, she draws the reader in with emotion. From the title of the story to the very last sentence. I, in the next few paragraphs will open your eyes and show you how Ida Fink is undoubtedly appealing to your sense of emotion and not just simply describing a day in the life a Jew in World War II. It’s not that simple. Can someone possibly write a story about the Holocaust and not have an inkling of emotion? The answer is no. The title “Scrap of Time” to me is an emotional title, meaning a seemingly small part of a big, drawn out time in her life. Yet she holds onto it. Keeping this scrap in the back of her mind as a reminder of what once was. An unwanted scrap of the character’s life, a life of segregation, humiliation, and anguish. The narrator recalls, “We had different measure of time, we different ones, always different, always with that mark of difference that moved some of us to pride, and others to humility. We, who because of our difference were condemned once again, as we had been before in history, we were condemned once again during this time measured not in months nor by the rising and setting of the sun, but by a word- “action,” a word signifying movement, a word you would use about a novel or...
