As a restaurant manager I experienced the same lack of respect, theft and general lack of urgency regarding customers and the importance of customers. My employees and managers were always trying to skirt around their perspective duties. I had to constantly check after 90 percent of those who worked for me. I am no longer a restaurant manager due to the lack of respect and lack of urgency as well as work ethic in the food service industry. I had a question for the employee, so I hadn’t taken my hands off of the merchandise and this made him stop talking and make eye contact with me. He apologized and I asked my question.
