...worked on children’s games which do not hold the same level of prestige as the adult games in the company because the adult games produce more revenue and have more extensive marketing. ii. During a brainstorming session, I came up with an idea for our company to create a game that people could play over the internet, everyone liked the idea and decided on a gambling team. The Vice President of programming, Jamie Jackson, allowed my team take over the project. iii. My team worked grueling hours on the “Casino” project, making the endeavor more stressful after losing two team members (one due to the sickness of his wife and the other to another department). Although it was tough, I feel as if this is the best project I have ever worked on. Unfortunately, my peers and other managers disagreed calling the project “too cutesy” and “for wimps”. They believe it should involve the “cigar smoke and dancing girls” theme of Vegas, but I know modern Vegas has abandoned this theme for a more family friendly atmosphere. iv. I feel as if I may be discriminated against because I am the only female manager. This could be the reason why in the past I have only worked on children’s games, and currently am receiving much criticism for my work with my first adult game. I am not invited to all of the events with the male programmers, and make $7,000 less than they do. v. I also feel as if I am being left out of the decision making process for my own project, as another manager...

...goal for this project was to create a 3rd person game in a jungle and learn to create a game because I thought I had the background knowledge do so. To accomplish this I used Unity and researched. I spent many hours crating the game so that I would be perfect. I created a game that I felt satisfied with because of the terrain and the movement mechanics, but I also thought that this game did not meet my standard because of the errors and the village that I was unable to complete. Since I needed to learn about creating games in Unity, I read articles on the web, and I watched videos. The articles taught me the different functions of each code and the videos had the step-by-step process of how to do it. Since the only thing I knew how to do was programming in C#, I needed to research how to create a terrain. When I looked at some articles in Unity, I found that creating a terrain does not require any programming skills, and the articles also showed that when programming in C# the terrain was classified as a game object. After I learned the codes for writing a game,...

...An evolution of Vietnamese game industry Individual report on innovation Introduction The world has witnessed the significant growth of game industry over the last 10 years. There have been major changes in all aspects such as graphics, gameplay and along with it come a great number of big firms in this industry: Ubisoft, Square Enix, Crytek, and so on. On contrary to this rapid growth, there have been little or none game producers that come from Vietnam. This can only be explained by the fact that game piracy appears in every corners of Vietnam and that Vietnamese governments, as well as the societies, have a negative point of view in games. The situation made it nearly impossible for any game developers to set their feet in such field. However, a new and young company, Emobi Games, realized their opportunities and decided to take a risk with the goal is to prove to Vietnamese people and the whole world that Vietnamese games are able to compete at a global level. ...Trading Card Game EXECUTIVE BRIEF Carlos P. Depante AB-MMA 10452451 PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project is a Trading Game (TCG) based on Philippine Literature particularly during the Hispanic period which includes classics like Ibong Adarna, Florante at Laura, Noli Me Tangere, and El Filibusterismo. This project seeks to encourage the youth’s appreciation of both the literature and the language through the use of a medium that is appealing to them. It can serve as an aid in understanding these classics and renewing the interest of the Filipino youth in their own literature. RATIONALE The proponent observed that most of his classmates love to read English pocket books and novels. The proponent also read this kind of literature, in a way they are magnificent and interesting, but nothing can replace literature written in one’s native tongue and representing one’s native values. When he entered college he was little bit disappointed because only a few of his classmates appreciated Philippine literature. Most of them are into graphic novels, poetry, stories and novels in English. They view Philippine literature as old, boring, and uninteresting compared to foreign-made literature. Upon browsing on game titles, most of them were inspired by children’s stories, literature, myth, fiction and history. Most of these games are top hits in the market which beat their competitors. Stern (2007) believes that most game developers partly...

...Sony PS4 – 100 Summer Day Challenge Executive Summary 3 Introduction 4 Project Aim 5 Project Objectives 5 Market Analysis 6 SWOT Analysis 10 Practical Point of View 11 Financial Projection 13 Conclusion 14 References 15 Appendices 16-18 Executive Summary The PlayStation is and has been a dominating force in the area of gaming consoles ever since its debut in 1995. Sony has created the ultimate entertainment magic box for young people, and the number of people who own a PlayStation 4 is close to 20 million as of January 2015, just over a year since its release. Our project focuses on one certain aspect: the health of people aged 13-21 who owns a PS4. Our proposal is that we include a Sony SWR10 fitness smart band in the PS4 box, launch a marketing campaign before Christmas and on Boxing Day in Australia the console plus smart band will go on sale together with a game from EA games. Then we introduce the 100-summer days challenge. This is the core of our project, we will offer rewards to people who use their smart band in healthy activities, and based on walking distances or calories burnt that will be recorded in the smart band, and after implementing the software to synchronize this data to the PS4, users will be able to claim their rewards on the rewards website that Sony has. We are giving gamers the incentive and encouragement to get out there and live a healthy lifestyle...

...Analysis Does the different genre of a video game effect the time it takes to react? A scary video game would make the time it takes to react less than a calm game. The independent variable in this project was the genre of the video game and the DV was the reaction time of playing a videogame. There were many control variables like the location, the participants, and the video games they played. Experimental group contains the calm and scary games and the control group is the reaction time of a person who does not play video games. Timing the participants on their reactions was easy while using a camera to record the reaction and time it that way so there would be more accurate data. In this experiment there were lots of things that could of messed up the research data. The average time for calm games was 0.26 seconds and for the scary game’s average was 0.22 seconds. The first step is to gather participants and get the first person ready. Then to start the test with a calm game. To time the participants use a stopwatch or a camera for more precise data. The participants will either be jumpscared in a scary game or be frightened by an upcoming object in a calm game. Then you time...

...Littlefield Technologies Game Strategy- Group 28 I. PROJECT MANAGEMENT: We can apply multiple project management concepts to planning the project, scheduling the project, and controlling the project. First, the project was planned and scheduled by setting a goal of completion. Considering the group’s total allotted time, our goal was to have the description of the game strategy completed 48 hours before the deadline, and to work collaboratively on the statistical spreadsheet 24 hours before the deadline. The game strategy was divided amongst team members (work break-down) within the group in a classroom setting. After defining the objective of the assignment, two team members worked together on question 2, and two team members worked separately on questions 1, 3, and 4. The fifth question in the game strategy was d givided between all five team members, and solutions were collected in one spreadsheet using Google Docs. Second, during Phase 2 of the Littlefield Technologies game, each team member will rotate equal turns monitoring and controlling the processing system every 3 to 4 hours every day during the 4-day phase. Revisions made to the system will be decided as a group, and implementation will be communicated through e-mail. Considering previous experiences in group projects, communication is imperative in the successful completion of the Littlefield Technologies Game. Every group member must commit to taking initiative and being involved in the project, and respect their...
