In fact, a lot of cases of domestic abuse have found that most women in an abusive relationship are not even physically hurt until the moment they attempt to leave. If the woman has the impertinance to leave, and deny the male that power, then his sense of entitlement becomes alarmingly magnified. That’s when the danger can begin. And sure enough, if we look back to September 2014, we can see the murder case of Lisa Harnum. Lisa Harnum and Simon Gittany were engaged and had been living together in Sydney for two years. Lisa had no bruises or black eyes to show for her abusive relationship, as it was all psychological. However when Lisa decided to break off the engagement, Simon threw her off the 15th floor of their high rise apartment in Sydney. He had gained control of her. The control principal can also be applied to the examples of Nigella Lawson and Rosie Batty. Rosie Batty had left her husband, depriving him of his entitlement to her and her son. Greg Anderson did not like that, so he deprived Rosie of the thing she loved most- her son. Similarly, Charles Saatchi had taken away Nigella Lawson’s only vice – her publicity. Charles had chosen to bereave Nigella publically, humiliating...
