...The Characteristics of a Good Boss as Opposed to a Bad Boss Stacy Giroux COM/155 February 13, 2014 Anne Cox The Characteristics of a Good Boss as Opposed to a Bad Boss In the property preservation field, having the characteristics of a good boss as opposed to a bad boss is very important to the success of the business. Property preservation is a tough field to be in for several reasons. First, the competition is high because, in this economy, there is a high demand for vendors to clean up the foreclosed properties for the banks. Second, there is a fine line between quality and quantity. This is because there are so many foreclosures that the need to get them done quickly is great, but the need to pay attention to detail is of equal value as these properties need to be in tip top condition and ready to hit the market within five days from the day a preservation company receives the first work order. Quality and quantity do not stop there. Once the house is on the market then the property preservation company is to maintain the yard weekly and the interior monthly. The maintenance list can grow very quickly, again making the line between quality and quantity a very fine line. Third, property preservation companies rely on their crews to do a majority of the work. If the crews are trained and their quality of work is up to standard, then everyone makes money, if not it can break a business. In the property preservation field, a good boss handles employee challenges...

...1. Discuss how personal differences and preference can impact organizational ethics. To discuss how personal differences and preference can impact organizational ethics, one must first define organizational ethics. According to Wikipedia, organizational ethics is defined as “how an organization ethically responds to an internal or external stimulus.” Personal differences and preference of people can create biases and conflict of interest since people have different likes and dislikes as well as different attitudes about culture, morals, and the way an individual carries theirself. If organizational ethics are not clearly defined within an organization, then chaos can occur. Companies need to make sure that there is a set standard of ethics and codes of conduct to assure an organization remains consistent and compliant. For example, preferences of a high-level manager on the gender of the people of whom he/she would like to work with, a specific type of educational background, or a certain income bracket of a person can lead to discrimination and prejudices against employees within that company. Personal differences of one’s culture, race, or even their appearance or characteristics should not come into play when working at a company. Diversity of an organization is vitally important and if someone is bias to a person’s personal difference, then someone can be treated unfairly or overlooked when that said person may have valuable input and resources that could help a...

...company based off of the financials provided by the accountant in order to save money for their son’s college fund. If they are provided with financials that make the company look more profitable than it truly is because the accountant cooked the books, then this family is entering into a dangerous investment that could ruin their son’s college fund and his future education. This shows the level of responsibility and ethical decision making that accountants are faced with. As a recent graduate of Providence College with an undergraduate in Accounting, I landed a job with a small automobile company. It is midnight and my boss is looking to sell the company. He has a meeting with Warren Buffet at 9a.m. tomorrow morning and has asked me to provide a spreadsheet with the company’s sales during the past six months. The ethical dilemma that I am faced with is that my boss has also asked me to account for the 15% of products that are typically returned due to defects and other reasons in our sales even though he knows that this will overstate our sales for the past six months by 15%. I am running out of time and I need to make a decision. First I am going to...

The Trump method of deportation, I really don't think is a option to solve the illegal immigrants issue, my point is when we look more at the economic cost and really that boss at the labor market it, he said everyone has to go and when we look at it, if everyone has to go that will cost America 8 million workers and that a significant amount that's 5.2 per of our labor market will be affect. John has to pay £150 for this. John is not an outstanding student, his writing is very poor and john knows very well that if he pay £150 pound then he will get good mark for that assignment, which will help him to finish his graduation. Now the question rises whether john will pay £50 pound for good result or he will submit his own written assignment. Above scenario helps us to understand the basic concept of Ethics. Ethics comes from ethos, which is a Greek word means “character” (Wikipedia). Definition of ethics can be described in many ways as ethics varies in different sector. Ethics helps us to understand the difference between right or wrong, good or bad. Ethics describe some standards of right and wrong which tells us what to do in terms of rights, obligations, benefits to society, fairness, or specific virtues. Ethics also provide the opportunity to study and development of ethical standards (Velasquez, 2010). ...Film Analysis: The Corporation University/Institution Name: Student’s Name: Professor’s Name: Course Name: Date Submitted: Film Analysis: The Corporation Introduction The Corporation, an infotainment by moviemakers Jennifer Abbott and Mark Achbar and authored by Joel Bakan, explores the legal standard, basically inquiring: if corporations were people, what manner of people would they be? Making use of psychiatrical main beliefs and FBI forensic technics, and through several case studies, the motion picture ascertains that this “being”, the corporation, which has an ever-increasing power over the daily existence of almost all living creatures on earth, would be a sociopath. The case studies consist of a story concerning how two reporters were sacked from Fox News for declining to downplay a story about the risks of a product of Monsanto given to dairy cattle, and another regarding Bolivian employees who confederated to guard their rights on their own water provision. The commonness of corporate control over our lives is looked into by analyzing efforts to manipulate behavior, together with that of children. The key argument of the infotainment is that, as the corporate legal “body” under current law is regarded to be a person, founded on its characteristics and personality, is a sociopath. Bakan establishes this standpoint on several things but letting the Psychologist tackle the question while the expert deals with psychosis. The major problems of a corporation discussed...

Unethical acts could include lying, cheating, misrepresenting the company, and other deceptive acts. b.
