English assignment ’Section A’ 1. Write a summary of "Bad stress, good stress" in about 150 words. Text two.

Bad stress, good stress by Sacha Bonsor is an article that deals with the issue of coping with stress. Stress is your body's way of responding to any kind of demand, it can be caused by both good and bad experiences. Sacha Bonsor starts off be saying that stress has become a too common word and an overrated term in modern language which she highlights with the growing statistics over stress from the UK economy. The article also mentions ‘psychological flexibility’. This is a term increasingly used by academics and psychologists, to describe people who use their fearful situations for a constructive end. Some people tries to avoid stress in their lives, in some situations its damaging but it’s also vital to our health and well being.

2. Outline of the various stress-related problems.

Stress is your body's way of responding to any kind of demand; it can be caused by both good and bad experiences. The least stressful jobs could be dinner ladies, unlike teachers who experience it daily in the class.

“Mind and body this week”: Danger: “Stress at work” by Eilish O’Reagan. Eilish O’Reagan tells us about which jobs have the biggest stress hold and the lowest. The least stressful job could be dinner ladies, because they don’t interact with children the whole day, only during break times. One of the most stressful jobs is being a teacher, because they unlike the dinner ladies have to interact with children all day. Jobs in which you have to hide your true feelings and emotions are the most stressful, like public service directors and managers.

Bad stress, good stress written by Sacha Bonsor deals with stress. First of all stress can make you do ridiculous things, like Pier Morgan who punches the wall. The UK Governmental economies spend £13.5 billion on lost productivity and the increased illness at work. Some people try to avoid stress in their lives, but they will never build up the experience that would allow them to cope better with the next stressful situation.

3. Comment on the statement: “If you want to live long and healthily, don’t settle into routines”

Routines can go either way really. A routine is like schedules and schedules don’t have to be your life. Sometimes scheduling is a good thing, because you have a bunch of specific things, you have to do and you also have dates and plans under control. But in my opinion if you are staying in the same routine day after day, it can be hard to learn new things and achieve your goals. This could very well be a destroying thing, because then you have to push yourself fathers to reach your goals. But if you are truly flexible and go there is really very little you can't accomplish in your life.

4. Write an article for a school magazine in which you discuss how to manage stress as a student

Reduce stress by setting realistic goals, be flexible and don’t avoid the stress factor which really can help you even further. My life as a student is like everyone else’s, I have school, some homework and of causes my after school activities. I learned everything about how to cope with stress by experience what stress can do to you and your motivations. Knowing your limitations and being able to admit them, you’re halfway to a stress free life. Don’t let unimportant appointments go in your way of your routines on a weekly basis. One way to cut down your schedule is to become good at saying no to appointments. Learning to say no to appointments can be one of the biggest favors you can do yourself. Why say yes to a tic talk when your schedule is overbooked? Be consistent and say you don’t have the time, because you cannot handle being stressed. It’s OK to say; ‘let me think about it and get back to you’.
