Professor Carol S. Dweck, psychology at Stanford University, well known for her work on mindset in the psychological characteristic. She was working on a study whether a child way of thinking is fixed or changeable. To her belief contrasting the two ideas of mindset can help us understand how much it shapes our lives. Dwerk input on our two ways of thinking are fixed mindset and a growth mindset. The terminologies for these words applied in their nature of the behavior of psychology word, a fixed mindset is someone who thinks people are born with the skill, don't take challenges and pessimistic. The other growth mindset is someone who believes there can always be an improvement, they work hard, take challenges, put in effort and optimistic. …show more content…
Because I had a goal in mind, I was persistent despite the obstacles. For example, students in ESL were taken out of the classroom at a certain time around of the day and be placed in a small room. We would miss fun activity because of our thick accent. Instead, we would practice our speech with each other. I felt it was more of a punishment to be in ESL than getting the help that it was supposed to provide us. I want to be able to be with my classmate, so I forced myself to read out loud anything I can catch a glimpse of from a sign on the street to my older sister's book. I had my sisters take to the library on the weekend. Even come to a point that I beg my father to buy me books. It had taken a year for me to lose my accent; however, my hard work paid off. I was taken out of ESL and was able to join my peer. Considering at the time my desire to participate in my class pushed me to practice my word. Giving me the effort to challenge myself had helped me improve my verbal skills. Because I realize my accent was so thick, I was placed in ESL for a reason. This led me to practice speaking out loud every day at a younger age. To sum up, I believed in myself by taking the challenge it took a great deal of practice and time but I accomplish my …show more content…
To simplify, I have anxious. I start to shake followed by sweating when I give a presentation. Feeling threaten at the time as well as a failure had me second guessing myself. To illustrate, my unsupported teacher discovered I was scared to speak in public decided to help by picking on me every day. I was called on and asked to write and talk in front of the class. As a student, I did as I was told. Sadly my anxiety just got worst. One day my unsupported teacher couldn’t take it anymore and told my classmate because I am timid I won’t make it in life. I was given I/F meaning my grade is incomplete with a Failure. I accepted the grade she gave me except saying I would not make it in life, wrong. I know it’s not true I told myself even if I am a chicken I always push myself. I was able to walk to the board in front of people. I might have been walking slow and scared but I did it. By the end of the day, I know I will be fine just because I have anxiety I made sure it won’t interfere with my goal. Considering my outcome, I should be discouraged by unsupported teacher nonetheless I did not it just make me accept and move

People with Autism usually have communication deficits such as inappropriate responses in conversation or difficulty interacting with people their own age.
