For example, in the picture book, the text of Honey bunny was very sad because Eddy Bear did not like her, is clearly shown in the picture - (sad face, drowned eyes, walking slowly in gloomy evening) which conveys the meaning of the text that links directly to the “English / Year 1 / Literature / Literature and context / ACELT1581” (ACARA, n. d). ...WHAT'S YOUR STYLE—SENSER, INTUITOR, THINKER, FEELER? Individuals differ in the way they interact with others and the way they gather and evaluate information for problem solving and decision making. Four psychological functions identified by Carl Jung are related to this process: sensation, intuition, thinking, and feeling. Before you read further, complete the Problem-Solving Diagnostic Questionnaire (Part A), and then check the scoring key that appears in Part B. Website Comparison

...Website Comparison: An Analysis of Two Online Health Resources Stephanie Elliott Governors State University Website Comparison: An Analysis of Two Online Health Resources The internet provides a wealth of information, and can be a very important tool when it comes to research. However, it is essential to note that just because something is available online, it does not automatically mean it is true. Anyone can create a website and post content. It is up to the individual to evaluate websites for themselves to determine their authenticity. The use of the internet to access health care information is becoming very common as well. A quick google search for “health information” lists https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ (MedlinePlus) in the top three. I chose this site as being reliable and credible because the information I find is similar to the content in my textbooks, and most of it is also supported by research foundations and clinical trials. On the other hand, there are many websites providing health-related information that seems legitimate, but sometimes hard to believe. An example of such a website is http://www.doctoryourself.com (Doctor Yourself). I chose this site because I wanted to learn more about the author’s claims that vitamins can cure diseases. This paper compares and contrasts MedlinePlus with Doctor Yourself and examines each website’s potential credibility. Discussion To determine a website’s credibility, it is necessary to evaluate...

Textbook Evaluation

...Introduction The learners and teachers of English and EFL (English as a Foreign Language) textbooks are three major inter-related elements in the process of present day education. Hutchinson, 1994 cited in (Evaluating an EFL textbook - A new English Course) states that, “The textbook is an almost universal element of ELT teaching”. Therefore, a textbook can be mentioned as a useful instrument which serves as a guide or an instructional manual for studying a particular subject. Against the common belief that students are the key in this direction, many scholars hold the view that textbooks are the heart of education with regard to the fact that both teachers and students are to a large extent dependent on the books (Sarem, S. N., Hamidi, H., Mahmoudie, R., 2013).Therefore, it is clear that a textbook facilitates the teaching and learning process and thus, is helpful both for the teacher and the students. Textbooks are compiled and developed because they are the most convenient means of providing the structure that the teaching-learning system requires. Textbooks are a good solution to overcome the weaknesses in teaching materials. Ansary and Babaii (2002) cited in (An Evaluation of English Language Textbook 'Say it in English' for first year intermediate Grade in South Arabia, 2012) state that, “Although the textbook is not the only tool for the teaching and learning process, it is still of a significant impact for achieving the language learning objectives...

...Advertising consists of the activity of attracting public attention to a business or organization, usually by means of mass communication such as paid announcements, print, broadcast, or electronic media. Advertising for businesses, especially small companies, can be essential to surviving in a highly competitive market. Furthermore, it can consist of a significant percentage of a company’s budget, so effective, not necessarily high quantity, advertising is important. Advertising is just part of a company’s overall marketing strategy, which includes everything from promotional programs, signage, specials and sales, as well as, word of mouth and location, with an overall goal of reaching the maximum amount of people with maximum impact. Due to the effectiveness and power of advertising, the FTC has enacted laws directly affecting the manner in which companies can advertise. “Under the Federal Trade Commission Act, advertising must be truthful and non-deceptive, advertisers must have evidence to back up their claims, and advertisements cannot be unfair” (Facts for Business). There are many types of advertisements, which make it difficult to regulate, but some include catalog, children’s, alcohol, contests, credit, and even weight loss or other health advertisements. Through the variety of advertisements, there are also many ways for advertisers to participate in deceptive advertising including those that are just outright untrue, over exaggerated, and the practice of bait...
