...M1- Asses the implications of health and safety and security legislation and regulations for a business role in a work place. This covers different roles with Super Group, I will be looking at the health, safety and security legislation and regulation have different implications. Ever since health and safety has been introduced into the work place they have to have set up and complete risk assessments due to the management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 legislation, for example if an employee at Super Group was set up a risk assessment and the first implication is to make sure they include all possible hazards and risks. The next implication of the risk assessment they have to make sure they involve is every employee that works for the business and for example if an employee was injured and was in a cast and on crutches they would have to make a whole new specific risk assessment for that employee and everything that was going on around including other employees. This is very important because if the worst possible outcome was to happen at work then they would have to able to get that injured employee out safely for example making sure all first exits were clear and all the alarms are tested and working correctly. The next legislation I will be looking and what implications is causes is the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 which was put in place to make sure all employee are safe at work and our working in a healthy environment, this is important for Super...

...Unit 4: Understanding how a retail business maintains health and safety on its premises Task 3 Understand the employee’s responsibilities in reporting hazards and accidents that typically occur on the premises of a retail business The most common types of risks, hazards and accidents to staff and customers are: * Lifting and pushing - eg. Handling heavy or awkward sized objects * Slips/trips and falls - eg. Slipping on a wet surface or falling from a ladder * Machinery - eg. Using ladders, trolleys etc... * Occupational violence - eg. Abusive customers or dealing with robbers * Chemicals - eg. Using cleaning products * Electrical incidents * Poor housekeeping- eg. Products being left lying around Overall, slips/trips and falls or damage caused by manual handling/lifting remain the main culprits of injury in the retail workplace. It is important to try minimise risks, hazards and accidents in the workplace. This is easy. You can make sure you have good signage in your shop. Not just in the back of the shop warning of chemicals or how to dispose things but also in the front of house. As if you had had a spill of a substance on the floor there is a hazard that customers might not see it so you need to put up a sign to warn them ad work on minimising or getting rid of that hazard before an accident happens. It is equally important to report a hazard for the sake of employees and customers safety to reduce the risk of harm towards them. It...

The product I researched on was Rimmel London eyeliner which was from boots. There was a range of marketing techniques they have used. They have advertised the product on television and also the internet (YouTube). When it comes to advertisements Rimmel exaggerated eyeliner got over fifty seven thousand two hundred and fifty eight views. The customer reviews that were received for Rimmel London ‘’exaggerate eye liner’’ was last year in 2012(11 November). They only got six reviews; out of six people four people rated it five stars; one person rated three stars and one person rated it one star. However, from March to October 2013 they have got 101 views mostly giving back positive feedback. Also forty-four people gave a star rating of four point five and five. This has had a major effect over time because before Rimmel London wasn’t that recognised and now the views and ratings have rapidly increased. Furthermore, Boots have used a market relationship technique. For example if you buy the Rimmel London exaggerated eye liner you can now get the second one half the price. Another offer which you can get is when you spend ten pounds or more on any product that belongs to Rimmel London you can retrieve a free gift which is Rimmel London scandalize mascara...

The educational lecture and the question and answer session was provided for us to help us with our business work. (Unit 1: The Business Environment) This helped us, by answering some of the questions that would have been asked in the later assignments. A visitor had come, from Islamic Relief to tell us about the charity that helps millions around the world. I also gained information and knowledge regarding this business. It was fascinating to find out the difference between the registered charity and the football club. This was because I think it’s amazing how two different businesses can achieve different aims and objectives, yet they both can be so successful. The two businesses have different organisational structures, an organisational structure is designed and created to, divide up the work that needs to be completed thus making it easier to complete. It is used to establish control and communication; for example, dealing with retailers to organise suppliers to shops and cafés. There are different types of organisational structures, these include; Function, Geographical Area, Product Group, Type of Customer Function- The organisational structure determines how the business is operated. Unit introduction It is important, when working in business, to ensure compliance with organisational procedures and legal requirements, as the consequences of non-compliance can have serious implications for employees and employers. It is important, therefore, for learners to appreciate that those working in business must understand the principal issues which affect the working environment, for all individuals and the organisations that employ them. This involves keeping up to date with information on the legal issues that affect safe working practices. Safe working conditions and the ‘welfare of employees’ can contribute to the success of an organisation. It is important that organisations take steps to prevent accidents...
