...| Overcoming The Challenges | What lies ahead for the new pediatric satellite clinic | | Abstract The purpose of this document is to discuss the opening of a new pediatric satellite clinic in a place of my choosing. For this document, I will be choosing Charlotte, NC; which is close to my hometown. This essay will discuss several challenges that lay ahead with this project, such as; recruiting and retaining staff; types of services and resources; building rapport with the community and surrounding counties; finances and profitability of the clinic; technology; and compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. These challenges will also be further broken down and explain ways that administration can overcome these challenges so that the project is successful. Lastly, there will be a discussion on specific skills and knowledge that administration needs to utilize when opening the new clinic and to manage staff. The decision to expand the Pediatric Community Care Center has provided other communities the chance to receive quality care close to their home. This decision also poses great risks and challenges. Overcoming these challenges will be no easy feat; however, with careful consideration and implementing the right course, this project should be a success. The new Pediatric Satellite Clinic will be located in Charlotte, North Carolina. This area has a population of around 773 thousand, with around 20% of that population being children...

...Health Care Terms In this paper I will go over various medical terminology that everyone in the medical care should familiarize themselves with. Any individuals that want to succeed in the healthcare career need to have a solid understanding of Medical terms. This allows the healthcare professionals be able to communicate with one another as well as patients. Thus medical terminology plays an significant role in the area within the health care field. The terms that I will be going over in my own words are: Medicare, Medicaid, Certification (for physicians), public health, and ambulatory care. Medicare is a federally operated health coverage program that serves various individuals who have limited income and resources. Individuals who are of the age of 65 and older, those who are under 65 and permanently disabled, and any age group whom has end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The program is divided into four specific parts Medicare Part A, B, C, and D to cover heath services. Medicare Part A is a form of hospital insurance and covers inpatient hospital care. Medical Insurance is covered by Medicare Part B to cover physicians, and other health care services. The advantage of Medicare Part C is that this plan option that renders health coverage benefits from both Part A and Part B. Prescription drug coverage is provided from Medicare Part D. ...Viewpoints On Corporate Wellness Plans When it comes to the topic of healthy lifestyle habits, many might agree that these habits should be goals for every individual. Where this agreement ends, however, is when employers have ultimate control over your lifestyle habits. Many corporations are forcing employees to stop smoking, lose weight and improve their health to maintain employment and not be penalized (Cavico & Mujtaba, 2013). The authors explain that wellness plans will decrease stress, anxiety, absenteeism, and increase overall job satisfaction. While Cavico & Mujtaba do mention a few of the drawbacks, they maintain that corporate wellness plans are socially responsible and beneficial to everyone, which is incorrect. Cavico & Mujtaba assert that voluntary and incentive based programs are utilitarian in nature, therefore, a positive move for employers and employees. Voluntary and incentive based programs, however, appear not to be the intent of corporations in the future. According to the authors, in the next three to five years, 60% of corporations intend to penalize workers who do not improve their health (p. 111). This leads one to question if penalizing employees will still remain a positive move for employers and employees. While monetary penalties will impact an employee’s paycheck, employers may be forced to lose highly qualified employees at the hands of wellness plans. If wellness plans must be instituted, involuntary programs would not be in the best...

...located has a affect on who is needing care and what their needs may be. Sylvan (2013), "One-fourth of the U.S. population lives in rural areas. Compared with urban Americans, rural residents have higher poverty rates, a larger percentage of elderly, tend to be in poorer health and face more difficulty getting to health services. The circumstance of where you live has a significant overall effect on the number of primary-care doctors, specialists, hospitals and other health resources available. In rural communities, lack of transportation and distance to an emergency room or a hospital can be important barriers to receiving prompt treatment” (Factors Affecting Health-Care Delivery). Personal and ethical beliefsof the community also determine what the make up of the facility will look like. Some communities are high in spiritual beliefs, some in home remedies, some in vaccinating, some in preventative care. Depending on what the community is like determines what kind of care they offer. At Ashton court for example these residents are high in spiritual beliefs and faith. Therefore, Ashton court offers a prayer room and spiritual support as well as the medical side of care. Sylvan (2013), " some factors affecting health-care delivery are related to an individual's circumstances....

...Ruth paredes 9/25/15 English composition What do you think about universal health insurance? Universal health insurance will inevitably lead to bloated, unsustainable expenses. This will be followed by rigorous attempts at cost cutting tailored to progressive values. The first six inevitable consequences deal with cutting costs by suppressing or destroying human life. We will have increased birth control and slower population growth. Why an inevitability? Because in itself birth control is a strong progressive value and because preventing birth is the cheapest way to curtail the cost of pregnancy and child care under universal health care. economic consequences will rise uncontrollably the price of living will be much extremely high and the taxes will be even higher because the money to pay for the universal health insurance has to come from some when and that will be from our food, gas, and real estate. Much worse, an eventual resumption of involuntary sterilization is a real possibility. In the 20th century, the same people who pushed birth control successfully promoted involuntary sterilization. Abortion rates will rise. Again this is inevitable because abortion is already a progressive program and because next to birth control abortion is the most efficient way of eliminating the costs of pregnancy, delivery, and infant and child health care. Patients will be pushed out of hospitals into homecare, hospice care, and custodial nursing homes. This will be done...

They provide training seminars and continuing education so can learn the newest procedure with having to rearrange your whole life. They even keep members connected with each other, which is great for networking. ...is not what we say, but it is how we say it. A quality education and career training are sound investments for a bright future, an illustrious career, and a successful life. Individuals who complete more years of education have greater access to higher paying jobs-such as management, professional, and related occupations than those with fewer years of education. “Where one goes to college can have effects on one's future education, occupation, and income” (Karen, 2002, p. 193). Self-discipline, sacrifice, patience, perseverance, and positive attitude should be sufficient motivating factors, and a reminder that a good education pays off eventually by reaping the fruits of hard work. Physical well-being, personal wellness, and good health are part of personal responsibility. “Participation in physical activity should remain a high priority to facilitate maintenance of healthy body weights” (Liebman, 2005, p. 95). Personal drive, ambition, and desire to succeed are necessary attributes that help in overcoming any obstacles. Volunteering, part of personal responsibility requires time, and flexibility to help less fortunate members of the community, and may work in homeless shelters, children’s, and nursing homes, hospitals, churches, correctional institutions, and schools. Learning from our past can help avoid repetition of mistakes in the future. Responsibility means doing the right thing and not blaming others for our actions. People who drink and drive risk getting...

...mostly define a child’s acceptance and good relationship with things within the environment. Good socialization skills are developed when humans are exposed to as many things as possible. The more events that a child encounters and has positive reactions to, the better response he/she will have when these events are repeated throughout the course of life. It is important that you make the socialization process as entertaining and rewarding as you possibly can. This means that during this process, your infant will need to accept being handled and being touched by other humans so that she will not fear strangers (healthcare providers, or people whom they are introduced to.) This will prove beneficial when you have to take the infant to the health clinic per se. Make sure that all the experiences a child is introduced to are pleasurable experiences. That way the child will build a good association between the event and the reward. Human contact us necessary not only for the infant’s physical well-being, but for healthy social and psychological development as well. As infants grow, their inborn...

...The weight loss industry is making millions every year on Americans. So why are so many Americans continuing to gain weight at increasing numbers? Could it be diets and weight loss supplements are detrimental to the overall health of so many Americans? The unhealthy reliance on appetite suppressants and the restrictions of certain food groups generally don’t work in the long term and can even be dangerous. The low cost of diets and the promise of fast results can certainly encourage many Americans to diet. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention more than 20 million Americans use dietary supplements, including multivitamins, minerals and herbs. The rise of diet supplements from 42% in 2006 to 62% in 2010 has only fueled the growth of dietary supplements and diet plans to a multimillion dollar industry (Center for Disease Control, 2011). The weight loss industry encourages individuals to improve their overall health by dieting. The industry approach suggest people can eat poorly and just take a diet supplement and have the same results of someone who eats well, exercise and takes care of their health by getting regular checkups. This is farthest from the truth according to a CNN report. Dr. Roberta Anding, a registered dietitian and director of sports nutrition at Texas Children Hospital, stated “while some supplements can be helpful in losing weight they are not match to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. “ Studies haven’t shown any significant difference...
