A forced referral means putting patients into a situation where they are practically compelled to talk about you because of the experience. Referral appreciation events, where patients bring friends and neighbors, is one type of forced referral. They are also popular and fun, and they let people see you in a different light. People will get to know your personality more as a result of attending a party where you are mingling and having fun instead of working. The forced referral happens because to invite a friend to an event sponsored by their orthodontist, they are almost certain to talk about the orthodontist....

...The Benefits of Online Shopping Online shopping is becoming increasingly popular for a variety of reasons. There are certainly outside factors such as increasing gas prices, difficulty getting to traditional stores and the hassles often associated with shopping in malls and other traditional stores may contribute to the increased interest in online shopping. However, there are also many benefits which make online shopping an excellent option for many busy shoppers. Some of these benefits include convenience, comparison shopping capabilities and express shipping options and this article will discuss each of these benefits in further detail. The Convenience of Online Shopping One of the most obvious benefits of online shopping which cannot be overlooked is convenience. One of the most enjoyable conveniences of online shopping which is enjoyed by many is the ability to shop for products or services at a time which is convenient for the consumer. Online retailers accept orders twenty four hours a day while consumers who wish to shop at traditional stores have to be available to visit the store during normal business hours. This can be a major inconvenience especially for shoppers who work long hours or shoppers who work odd hours. Online shopping eliminates this concern because shoppers can simply access online stores from their computer whenever they have free time available. Another convenience of online shopping is the ability to order products from around the...

...Olivia Scanlon Mrs. Smith Christian Morality 7 October 2010 Gifted For Mission We have been created in God’s own image and likeness. We posses the special gifts of free will, God’s love and salvation in God’s son , Jesus Christ. Each one of us has special, gifts talents and values given to us by God to enable us to fulfill His mission for us. It is our obligation as moral Christians and human beings to use those gifts to spread God’s message and influence others. Great books often inspire me. A captivating book can put you in someone else’s shoes and it is always interesting to ask yourself, “What would I do in that situation.” Recently, I was inspired by the epic novel, Gone with the Wind, although Scarlett O’Hara does not always make the most moral decisions, her unyielding courage and indomitable spirit are inspiring. These are Scarlett’s talents and she uses them to get through tough times and help her family. I use my own skill and talents as a good student, sister and friend to strive to be successful in life and take care of those I care about. Executing my talents wisely has enabled me to achieve balance between academics, extracurricular activities and my part time job as a hostess. As I like to be the very best I can possibly be and receive recognition for my hard work, I was disappointed to learn that I did make the required grade to qualify for Nation Honors Society this past year. I have interest in learning and would love to expand my knowledge about the...

...Budget Tips Very few of us are disciplined budgeters. We are used to spending our income and not really ever checking how much is being spent. This is a list of tips to help control and/or tighten a budget. This list is not exhaustive and its purpose is to show some of the mechanisms you can use. A. Groceries/Housekeeping etc. * When you are going shopping write a list of the items you need. Do not fall for the “impulse buy” when you are in the supermarket. Additional purchases should be limited to items genuinely omitted from the list. If much-used items, such as toilet rolls etc. are on sale at bargain prices then purchase a supply of them. * There is no denying that “fast food” and pre-packaged meals are quick and easy, but they are also very expensive. Cook a larger amount of your own food and if necessary freeze it. * Rather than buying lunch at uni or work take a home-prepared meal. * Look at the store brands as these can save you a lot of money. Most are just as good as name brands. * Watch for the 'use by date’ mark down. Especially in the meat or dairy sections. * Bulk buying can be a good way to save money if you can store and use the goods before spoilage. Maybe you can share the costs with friends or relatives. * Widen the variety of fruit and vegetables you eat so that you can take advantage when prices are seasonally lower. * Try and buy your petrol on those days when it is cheaper. B. Telephone/Internet...

...Name Date Comp I The Bear is moving in, what will the Eagle do? On February 28, Russian troop aided by the pro-Moscow militant group occupied strategic sites and building across the Crimean Peninsula under the pretense of “protecting Russian people.” Now Crimea is under the direct control of Moscow. The Russian parliament has voted to annex the region into the Russian Federation. There was a mass rally in the capital of Ukraine. The demonstration brought down the Russian backed President Viktor Yanukovych. Moscow could not tolerate this. So they decided to violate the Ukrainian territorial integrity and invaded Crimea. Soon after the invasion there was a dubious referendum in Crimea under the watchful eyes of Russian troop. About ninety six percentage of the population voted to join Russia. So now the Crimea is an independent province of Russian Federation. This is a failure for the Obama administration’s foreign policy in Europe. U.S reduced its forces in Europe in the recent years and this led the Russians to be more aggressive toward their European neighbors. Let us look at some of the article for proof. The editorial “After Crimea” published in April 2014 in the magazine America, says “the United States and the European allies are in no position to push the Russians out of Crimea.” This editorial suggests that the United States and NATO should increase sanction against Russia. Rather than going to war with the Russians. Impose sanction to bring down the Russian...

...Of A Greeting Card In Interpersonal Communication Can a Christmas Card or a Birthday Card be better than a gift? I’m sure many people would answer that question with a resounding NO! My answer would be a resounding YES! How many times have you heard someone say “don’t buy me a card, they’re a waste of money”? Maybe you’ve even said it yourself. Well, I simply cannot agree with that thought. No matter what occasion or what holiday is being observed or celebrated a card is a special remembrance of that moment or place in time. But you may say, you can remember a day or a time without a card to remind you; or perhaps you may say you should live in the moment and not be concerned so much with remembering the past. After all a card is just a few lines of sentiment that can be delivered in person without the bother of making or shopping for a card. True but the card you spend time shopping for today may become very important in your future. Now Christmas cards are a special category and the days of sending cards to just about everyone you ever knew seem to be part of the traditions that are slowly fading away. Greeting card is not just a small piece of printed paper or hand painted card and it has got lots of importance. Traditionally, it has been a medium to express love, affection, care and lot more emotions to the friends and family members. These cards provide a gentle way to express the feelings towards the receiver in the most appropriate...

...The Four Loves is philosophical Literature based on the different loves described in Greek thought. Consider what Lewis indicates about each one of the four loves, familial or affectionate love (storge), friendship (philia), romantic love (Eros), and spiritual love (agape), and present your own philosophical treatment for each of these. Incorporate 2 to 3 scholarly research sources for this argument essay. Use MLA citation. Create an argument that is 4 to 5 double-spaced pages, exclusive of the work cited page. Consult the Writing Rubric. Proofreads thoroughly. 15th Century philosopher, Francois De La Rochefund stated, “There is only one kind of love, but there are a thousand different versions.” In The Four Loves, C. S. Lewis presented his philosophical view on The Four Loves as described in Greek thought. They are, namely, Familial or Affectionate love, Friendship, Romantic love and, Spiritual love. Lewis led the readers to reflect on his interpretation of each type as he tried to prove that the real glory of the natural loves lies in the divine love of God. This divine love is the highest form of love, and all the other loves are its offspring. Lewis first discussed the affectionate love also known as Storge. According to Lewis, “almost anyone can become an object of affection It ignores the barriers of sex, age, class, education” (p. 55 -56). There are different types of attachment that may develop between two persons or between an individual and an object. This affection...

...Topic 3 Jieni Peng 2/15/2015 http://blogs.wsj.com/pharmalot/2015/02/12/sanofi-shrinks-cancer-research-and-revamps-rd-cutting-100-jobs/?KEYWORDS=changes+in+organization 1. Sanofi, a drug company, is having issues trying to change the company. The change involves the company eliminating 100 research and development jobs in Massachusetts by trying to shrink its oncology unit and moving it into the Genzyme unit. This change is due to the company struggling to strengthen its diabetes business as well as trying to find a new chief executive. The former chief executive lowered sales outlook after unexpected pricing discounts arose. This caused the board members to become unhappy because of a lack of communication of the chief executive informing them of his decision. This is causing the current chairman to try to shift resources away from cancer research by performing damage control and trying to refocus the company as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, the board is struggling to find a replacement CEO with various pharmaceutical executives declining the position. The struggle that Sanofi is encountering in trying to implement their major change programs signals a failure in creating a powerful enough coalition program. In order for a major renewal program to be successful the chairman plus another group must come together and develop a strong commitment in creating a strong renewal program and implementing it properly. Sanofi lacked this communication with their former CEO and the...

...widely recognized cultural occurrence as Christmas. “Christmas is a mixture of celebrations, personal behaviors and attitudes, rituals and myths, the selling and buying of gifts, and public and private get-togethers. They all are brought together from ancient pagan festivals, various ethnic traditions, the biblical stories of Jesus’ birth, historic religious traditions, practices and beliefs, and material business strategies that are all focused around December 25th” (Sherbondy). How much do we actually know about the history of Christmas? Some might be completely surprised that December 25 is an approximate date of the birth of Jesus Christ. The exact date of his birth was unknown, so early Christians chose that date “to correspond with the day exactly nine months after they believed he was conceived” (Crock). The current culturally accepted forms of consumption behavior became established over time. “For centuries it was common to give Christmas gifts to friends and relatives at Christmas. However hanging out stockings to be filled with presents was first recorded in parts of England in the early 19th century. It became common in the late 19th century” (Lambert). “The sending of cards at Christmas time evolved from the practice of giving small, inexpensive favors to wish distant family, friends, and acquaintances well over the holidays. Over time, this custom gave way (largely due to marketing influences from greeting card companies) to the more widespread use of...

...27 November 2015 Analysis of Cathedral by Raymond Carver In “Cathedral” by Raymond Carver, it is about two men who are blind, one physically and the other psychologically. Carver uses a narrator who is a faux naif narrating his story about his life. The narrator’s wife has an old blind friend named, Robert. The story is about transcendence where although the unnamed narrator can physically see things, he lacks the wisdom and potential to see the greatness in other aspects of life that one could be limited due to physical factors. The narrator is given a gift of seeing a cathedral through the eyes of a blind man as his character develops from being psychologically blind to being able to see life from a different perspective. To understand the meaning of “Cathedral,” it is helpful first to analyze the author’s style of writing. Carver uses the first-person point of view to allow the audience to see the narrator’s thought process and reasoning. With the use of this style of writing, Carver can convey the narrator’s bigotry based on his stereotype and lack of knowledge towards a blind person. The narrow-mindedness of the narrator is apparent on how he refers to his wife’s close friend as just a blind man “a blind man in my house was not something I looked forward to” (Carver 266). He was displeased when he found out that the blind man was coming for a visit. In addition, this gives the audience the opportunity to see into the narrator’s mind in which his stereotype and false...
