Hiring Dilemma

A company trying to get started in the evolving business industry, can easily lose sight of the goal by employing personnel that do not meet the qualifications and standards needed to make a bold move to the future. There are many exciting aspects to job hunting and there is an even bigger decision when hiring the right candidate for the position. The position requires substantial knowledge of the duties to be performed, a set of moral standards and definite fairness across the board. When hiring, nepotism should be eliminated and preferential treatment. All positions should be based on merit and honest qualifications. If the hiring process were to cater to the needs of those in desperate need, there will be many shortcomings that the organization would not be able to overcome. I have weighed the thought process of hiring because of a favor and would it be possible to truly appreciate the work ethics of someone you hired unethically. The entry-level position at VJ Productions entails significant dedication and attention to detail. The position will require the applicant fulfill all job descriptions and duties. There will be no additional training, the job will be fast paced and the necessity to implement task immediately. In all fairness to the position, there can be no favoritism or special preferential treatment. The moral high ground is the best choice for the job, the company and the fellow employee’s involved. Nevertheless hiring and eager worker that is willing to learn and dedicated to making things happen would be the best choice for the position. And employee ager to work is always a positive attribute to the organization. Exploring the norm and outside the norm could be extremely beneficial to the betterment of the organization. I reviewed the resume’s to determine the best qualified candidate and there is no outstanding attributes to lead me to the decision to pick the least qualified. As I review the negative aspect of hiring for nepotism and friendship, I can see animosity and resentment growing in the organization if the employee chosen is more detrimental to the ongoing progress. There is also the ever growing concern that this will lead to other misguided information being given in order to see the employee fail. I have the responsibility to do my job to the fullest and for the best possible attribute for my supervisors, by choosing the best candidate for the position. The positive aspect of this hiring decision is that the best qualified will come into the organization with bright ideas and enthusiasm to continue to see the organization excel. I understand the need for the individual to receive a job, but the other’s applying for this position should be afforded the same opportunity that I would give to the least qualified. There will be no training and this would be a disservice to the least qualified, and it is a decision that I must live with. I have chosen candidate number one, they are the best qualified for the position. Their resume reflects the highest standards and credentials for the position. I will expect the new employee to start immediately. On Monday I will be enforcing a new standard for all employees, if will be crucial that my newest employee be onboard prior to the initiation of this standard. There will be a probationary period of six months, I expect certain performance measures to be met and implemented. After observing the work performance over the past 30 days, my decision was a sound decision. Performance has increased 40% and morale has been at its highest. No one has felt like they had to carry the load and the team is function like a well oiled machine. I see the benefits of choosing the most qualified. This decision is unwavering and leaves no reason for doubt.

Kerry says the reason she does this is because her pageant-daughter is destined to become an actress, model, or singer one day. Ethically, this could damage her daughter.
