How to Take Your Dog a Bath

The fear of letting your dog out to use the restroom on a muddy day. Finding him covered in mud and there’s no time to set up an appointment with your dog’s groomer. You’ll just have to take it upon yourself to give him a bath. Foremost when wanting to take your dog a bath, be prepare for what’s to come! Don’t be scared just have control of the situation. Gather all the materials: shampoo, three towels, washcloth, dog brush, cotton balls, dog spray, treats, ear cleaner, container and hairdryer. By following these instructions, you’ll avoid a big mess.
First and foremost change into something you don’t mind getting wet or dirty. They shake a lot when their fur is wet. Also have your house at a good temperature. You don’t want him catching a cold. Once you attended your dog, wrap him up in the towel because you want to avoid all the mud, flying everywhere. Therefore by having your dog wrapped until you get to your restroom it will prevent a whole lot of mess you won’t have to clean up as well. Once you’re in your restroom dry your dog off and get as much mud off as you can.
Prepare the water to warm and place a towel in the tub (without blocking the drain) to prevent your dog from slipping. Also put a drain stopper and fill the tub up half way with warm water. Before putting your dog into the tub put some cotton balls in his ears to prevent water from going in. Then pick him up and place him in the tub, grab your container and soak him completely. While his body wet drag you hand down his fur to wipe the water off so he won’t shake. Pour shampoo all down his back and some on your hands. Start shampooing at the neck and work your way down his body to tail and toes. Scrub the shampoo really well if they have long fur it take a little longer. There’s no rush because you want him smelling clean and feeling fresh.
Before you start rinsing make sure the tub is drain out. Once the tub is ready, give your dog a nice little treat. Then pursue on with rinsing him off with fresh tab water. Make sure you don’t pour the water from his head and down. Avoid putting water in his face because they’re frighten of it. You want them to feel as comfortable as possible. You’ll just be rinsing from his neck and down. Then get a wet washcloth and clean his face off. This is to protect his eyes and ears. You don’t want him catching an ear infection. Wrap him up. You’ll either decide if blow drying or towel drying is best for your dog. If it’s your first time using a hairdryer on your dog, I recommend you to just turn on at low speed and see how your dog reacts to it. If your dog does fine give him a treat, to keep him calm. Remember your hairdryer must be on low heat and low speed. Give him a minute and then start blow drying. Therefore those who dogs can’t stand the blow dryer you’ll just have to towel dry him. Towel drying take a lot longer but it gets the job done.
After he’s completely dried, comb your dog’s hair. Start off with the back and the stomach side. Then the legs but be very gentle because they’re the most sensitive. Go up and down each leg. After that comb his tail and face. We always want to make sure there isn’t any knots. Going over a second time would be the best. Dogs don’t like being locked up in the restroom for so long. That’s why it’s important to treat him with another treat. Keeping them occupied with treats are a great way to having them in a good mode.
Once you’re done combing your dog. Take out the cotton balls and check his ears. Make sure there’s isn’t any ear wax or mud. If so, clean out your dog ear with his ear cleaner. First you’ll need to turn your dog ear inside out. Pour a small amount of cleaner into one ear until the ear canal is full. To prevent your dog from shaking, place a cotton ball into his ear. Then massage the area right under the external opening of the ear canal. After that remove the cotton ball and wipe out the remainder of the cleaner with a new cotton ball. Complete these same step for the other ear. Give him his last peace of treat for doing such a good job with his bath time! Last but not least spray your dog down with his favorite spray. Your dog will be well aware that his bath time is almost done. He’ll start jumping around. Don’t worry its normal! Once he’s out the restroom he’ll be running all over with excitement. Reminder don’t let your dog out the next time its muddy outside! Either way even if you have no choice but to. Don’t worry for the next time its muddy outdoor. You’ll be well prepare for giving him another bath.
If there was another accident don’t worry with these instructions you’ll be able to get the job done with great success. The less stress the better for you and you pet. So just follow each step and most of all don’t forget the treats! Treats are very important with keeping your dog controlled and making your job easy while giving him a bath. My very first time giving my little dog a bath was the most trouble experiences I ever had. If I had these step by step to show me how to take my dog a bath. I wouldn’t have had that problem.

How to Bathe a Stubborn Dog

...Jennifer MacIntosh W131 5581 Final Draft Process March 11, 2013 How to Bathe a Stubborn Dog Bathing your dog shouldn’t be that hard. It helps keep your pet healthy, from smelling like a farm animal, and shedding all over the house. A smelly dog is not what you want sleeping at the end of your bed, or in my case snuggling next to you while trying to steal your pillows and blanket. When giving our boxer a bath, she seems to really enjoy it. However, our Lab, Jack, who should LOVE water, is another story. First, make sure you gather all of your supplies. Since Jack isn’t a fan of baths, we don’t bother trying to wrestle him in the tub. We wait for a nice day and put him in a baby pool outside. You’ll need: dog (or baby) shampoo, plenty of old towels, a hose, a short leash, an accomplice, and lots of patience. Remember, since Jack doesn’t like baths, you’ll need to be sneaky while trying to gather these items. If he sees the shampoo bottle or the baby pool you will end up playing hide-and-seek. By the time you finally find him, you’ll forget why you were looking for him in the first place. Now that you have your supplies (and hopefully Jack), lead him out to the backyard. Walk to the opposite side of the pool and use the leash to pull him in. He won’t like it, but if you’re using the leash, he won’t have much choice. Now that you have him in the pool, yell to your accomplice to turn the water on. Hose him down while trying to...

The Silky Terrier

...ABSTRACT In the pet/companion and show dog world, it is very important to groom your dog, especially the Silky Terrier. Often mistaken for a Yorkie, this particular toy breed is famously known for its long, shiny silky coat and friendly disposition. Grooming can be a great way of bonding with your pet, show off its silky, luxurious, hair in dog shows or to give him or her more visual spunk. Many tools and techniques are used to make a silky terrier look its very best for show: Clippers, shears, brushes, combs, detangling conditioners, professional shampoos, blow driers and other grooming tools are used for basic and show grooming. The Silky Terrier should be bathed once a week to once every 12 weeks; it’s a low maintenance dog and can have a fondness for grooming if started at a young age. Basic grooming should include bathing, brushing, and combing of their coat on a regular basis. Some of the many endearing qualities include a single coat that does not molt and distinct lack of “doggy” odor, therefore making them ideal for people who have allergies. History of the Breed The Silky Terrier originated in Australia in the 1890s, when breeders crossed imported Yorkshire Terriers with their native Australian Terriers. Some of the offspring looked like Yorkies, some looked like Australian Terriers, and others looked like the Silky of today, with a size and coat length that was between the two parent breeds. The Silky-looking dogs were interbred until the puppies predictably...

Why Cats Are Better Than Dogs

...are better than dogs Many people today own a pet or some sort, but the most popular are dogs and cats. Everyone has their own particular reason for their choice of pet, but I prefer cats over dogs because cats are more independent than dogs. Firstly you never have to worry about trying to fit in 2 or 3 walks every day because with cats you don’t need that. For example, if you were tired or sick and you had a dog, you would still need to walk him/her. Or, it would cost money to hire someone else to walk your dog and it is a headache to arrange. Lastly you could put down enough food and drink and the cat would eat and drink when hungry or thirsty. A dog, on the other hand wouldn’t be able to regulate how much it should eat. Also a cat can go to the bathroom in a litter box, but a dog would need someone to take it out on a walk in order to go to the bathroom. Secondly cats are much quieter pets than dogs especially during times when you want to sleep or relax. For example; let’s say an individual has a tiring day of work and wants to relax. They finally get comfortable when their dog hears a sound outside or sees another dog and starts barking uncontrollably whereas cats keep any moods they have to themselves. Cats do not feel a need to share their opinions with everyone around them. They keep quiet and do not bother with meowing at strangers. When friends arrive at your home, a dog goes into frenzy, barking, leaping and pawing at the newcomer. While the dog does everything...

I, also, point out Maersk Lines . Maersk is the world’s largest container shipping service. They provide “womb-to-tomb” service to transport a customer’s goods. A more accurate characterization of Maersk’s service might be point-to-point. Maersk will deliver a container to your location, wait for you to load the container, pick up the container, load it onto a Maersk freight ship, and deliver the container to its destination. Camp Bow Wow

...Camp Bow Wow Corporate Budgeting: Final Project My companies name is Camp Bow Wow, which is an overnight boarding facility for mainly dogs but other animals are welcome. The company was started in 2009 when the owner (Kasandra, myself) decided to become the owner of a dog named Buddy. All was well until Kasandra had a vacation planned and could not find any boarding facilities to meet the standards she was looking for. She had also recently inherited a large some of money in the amount of about 200,000 from the passing of her grandparents who also shared the love of animals with her. Kasandra used that money to find a place she could live and turn into a boarding facility and luckily she was able to find the perfect house with lots of land in the middle of town, so she got to work and the company shared its grand opening with the community in spring of 2011. The company has successfully been around for almost 3 years now offering products such as boarding, bathing, nail trims, and other products to ensure your animal is safe and happy. The location is right in the middle of the town of Appomattox so it’s perfect for people who are traveling in either direction and is known for their non-traditional animal boarding facilities, while targeting mainly dog breeds the facility is open to animals of several kinds. The reason we say its non-traditional is because the animals are not just kept in kennels all day and walked a few times unless requested by the owner, but actually...

Phobia

...Classical conditioning is a mode of training behavior where a naturally occurring environmental stimulus that produces an unconditional response is paired with a neutral stimulus. After this is done one or more times, the neutral stimulus will become a conditioned stimulus in that it will produce the same response as the naturally occurring unconditional stimulus. Classical conditioning was discovered and researched by Ivan Pavlov, a Russian physiologist. His famous experiment with his dog is known to nearly everyone who has taken a psychology class. He fed his dog in a pattern, every time he fed his dog he rang a bell. Eventually the dog associated the bell with food and would begin to salivate just on hearing the bell. That is the original experiment proving classical conditioning. Classical conditioning can cause a phobia. A phobia is a fear that is so irrational that the amount of fear is not warranted by the cause, and it interferes with the daily functioning of the sufferer. If one were to see and hear something that naturally produces a great deal of fear they may develop a phobia to similar sights and sounds. For example, if a car is heard honking and then seen and heard crashing at an intersection one might develop an irrational fear of car horns or crosswalks. Though a crosswalk at an intersection can be considered a dangerous place; if someone is so afraid to use one that they go completely out of their way to avoid it or change their plans all together, this...
