...SWOT Analysis For my SWOT analysis I chose Noah’s Arf; a Dog and Cat Kennel business plan. This isn’t your ordinary kennel; the company will also offer things like wash your own pet, overnight care, daycare, pet portraits, in home care, pet grooming, animal behavior and other specified needs. To begin the SWOT analysis I will look at the strengths. The woman behind the idea Kris Price has 23 years as an active Customer Service oriented business professional. She has earned the respect of her colleagues. The Business Plan has a set goal while anticipated some initial loss but expecting an increase in profit throughout the next few years. Kris has a daughter who is a veterinarian that will be joining the company which will help ease the minds of potential clients to know their pets will be safe. Kris has also through the years been a pet owner so she understands the clientele that she is trying to attract. She knows that people value their pets and nowadays they are treated more than just family. The other thing I liked was that it is a 24 hour service so when you take that later flight home you can swing by and pick up the dog without having to accrue an extra days’ worth of charges. When it comes to Weaknesses I didn’t notice many in this Business Plan. Kris Price has her client base focused on a small group I felt. Yes, she wants something in an upscale area looking at two income working families but I believe widening the audience would help her attract more of a client...

...things are lonely.” Steinbeck exemplifies the theme of how loneliness determines people to try and find friendship in order to dodge loneliness. Three main examples show this idea. The first example being Candy after his dog passed away. The second example being Curley’s wife and how she dealt with her loneliness and the third noteworthy example being how Crooks was treated on the ranch due to his race and disability. Each example presents the theme of how loneliness determines people to try and find friendship in order to dodge being lonely. Once Candy’s dog dies, he desperately goes searching for a new companion because he is trying to run away from the idea of being lonely. He idealizes becoming friends with George and Lennie once he overhears them talking about buying their dream ranch. “S’pose I went in with you guys. That’s three hundred and fifty buck I’d put in … How’d that be?” (pg.86 Steinbeck). Steinbeck shows us how Candy is tired of being in a place where he knows he is not wanted and how he’s starting to give up on himself after his dog got shot. Candy had had his dog as his companion from the very beginning. Candy is the only other character besides Lennie to have ever loved an animal. After Carlson took his dog to the back and shot it, instantly Candy became attached to George and Lennie’s dream to settle down on a farm. His sudden attachment to their plan shows he is grieving over the loss of his dog silently and is desperately trying to find a new companion...

...Dylan Brotherton 4/14/15 Criminology Paper Bringing Society Together Nancy McKeon once said: “A police force, wherever they are, is made up of amazing people, and I respect them a great deal.” Unfortunately many people in our community do not feel the same way as McKeon does about police officers. I cannot express enough the importance of police relations with the community. No matter what your view is on police officers, bottom line people need to realize the significant amount of risk officers put out yearly for the citizens protection. Officers have one job and one job only and that is to protect the citizens. Police have been lately giving a bad image due to the fact of suspicious shootings. The shootings are what is in the media and what everyone sees, the people do not see all the sacrifices and good deeds that officers achieve. The media gets more and more powerful each and every year, and the impact it has on people is significant. Whether it is on Facebook, Twitter, CNN or Yahoo, people will believe anything they see on the internet without knowing the facts. The media has giving police officers a bad image and I do not think it is fair for officers. If an officer were to break rules or not go with standard procedure, they are penalized just like anyone else. Some citizens tend to think officers can do whatever they want and not get penalized. For example, On April 4th, 2015 a man was shot in the back by a cop for suspicious reasons and then the officer tried to plant...

...How To Remove The Dog's Ear Mites By Jerry Welsh Oct 29, 2010 Ear mites are one of the parasites that plague dogs. Ear mites are barely visible but these minute organisms are highly contagious. These harmless looking small white dots can cause extreme discomfort to dogs and cats. Picture the discomfort you will feel if thousands of tiny critters are scampering inside your ears - this is exactly what dogs infested with ear mites feel. Ear mite infestation can easily spread as these parasites can be transmitted by an infested pet to another through physical contact. A pet owner has to employ measures to eradicate the ear mites at once if one pet is infested lest the infestation will spread to other pets of the family. Ear mites are barely visible by the naked eye thus a pet owner not accustomed to grooming the pet would not be aware of the infestation until the pet is severely affected....

...In Of Mice of Men by John Steinbeck it shows how ranch workers had a hard life and a bad future the workers were looking for independence. Dreams keep the migrant workers going, these dreams give the workers energy to work harder in the belief that one day their dream will come true. Dreams was a common theme in old days in mice and men it demonstrated by George and Lennie, Curley’s wife, and Candy. One of the example that George and Lennie has was the American Dream it was all about owning a little farm with a small house and lennie gets to tent the rabbits.George hopes that this dream will come true so he can have a better place to live.It is important to both men because it represents the independence and freedom that they presently do not enjoy being migrant workers. “Someday we’re gonna have a little house and a couple of acres an a cow and some pigs”(Steinback,14) George was explaining to Lennie about how their dream will look like. Second, it was Curley’s wife She is married to a man she doesn't love and who doesn't love her. There are no other women on the ranch and she has nothing to do. She tries to get friends by hanging round the bunkhouse. She dreams about being a movie and a rich life. Her hopes were raised by a man who state that he would take her to Hollywood, but when she didn't receive a letter from him, she married Curley.“I coulda been in the movies, and had nice clothes an I coulda sat in them big hotels an had pitchers...

...How to choose the right bed for the dog Most dog owners are stunned at the fact that dogs sleep 12 hours a day on average, and some can even sleep up to 18 hours a day. But they do not sleep so long prison, the dog often wake up, then turn to sleep again. The amount of sleep required depends on the type of dog: a dog that sleeps less than a dog, and older dogs tend to sleep more than a child. ...I never would expect an unprovoked puppy to be so aggressive. It was a warm and breezy Saturday afternoon in May. My Mom inquired, “Connor, would you like to wash my car?” I remarked, “Sure Mom, I will do it!” I sprinted upstairs and threw on some shorts and an old shirt. I went outside and knocked down the bucket off the shelf in my garage and poured in some soap and filled it with water. My Dad walked outside to check on me and helped me reach the top of the car because I was too short. I got off task and pulled my scooter out and started riding around my neighborhood. I rode down the street about five houses. The neighbor’s puppy was out, his leash wrapped around the light post in front of their house. His tail was wagging so I thought it...

...sister people preferred to be in company with. Although they had their differences, Venus and Ariel were close and enjoyed each other’s company, like sisters should. They were also very close to their mother. Mother Nature loved her daughters for who they were, despite the differences between them. She told her daughters stories of the things she created, how rewarding it was and how power should always be used for good. The sisters listened attentively, each with a thought in the backs of their minds. Ariel enjoyed the stories, but hoped for them to remain entertainment to her. She did not want to be held accountable for continuing the creation. Venus on the other hand, wanted to know as much as she could about the power than ran in her family; she wanted to have it now, to start practicing for when she would one day rule. She thought this because it was known that one day Mother Nature would have to pass down all of her knowledge and talents to one of her daughters. It was assumed to be the eldest. In her time of creation she had chosen to keep one of the animals close to her, as another companion. This was her faithful dog that also watched over the sisters and reported back to Mother Nature, as she was often too busy to keep a close eye on...

...With so many beverages and fresh food options at 7-Eleven stores, it's a wonder how 7-Eleven can keep up with it all. That is why we have gathered these fun facts because seeing is believing. 7-Eleven, Inc. 7-Eleven, Inc. is the world’s largest convenience store chain with more than 50,900 stores in 16 countries, of which nearly 10,200 are in North America, and the company has more outlets than any other retailer or food service provider. July 11 (7/11) is the official birthday of the 7-Eleven® convenience store chain. The company celebrates its 86th birthday this year. In 1927, convenience retailing began simply enough when an employee of Southland Ice Company in Dallas started selling milk, eggs and bread from the ice dock. Soon, the convenience store was born and became known as 7-Eleven to reflect the 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. hours of operation. For more than 15 years, 7-Eleven has been listed among Hispanic Magazine’s Corporate 100, the top companies providing the most opportunities to Hispanics. 7-Eleven adds another store to its worldwide operations every 2 hours. Industry Firsts 7-Eleven was the first to … operate 24 hours a day … sell fresh-brewed coffee in to-go cups ... have a self-serve soda fountain … and offer super-size fountain drinks. 7-Eleven aired the first television advertising by any convenience store; the animated commercial featuring a singing owl and rooster ran in 1949. 7-Eleven was the first retailer to offer fresh-brewed coffee in to-go cups...

...Dog Swimming a. importance of swimming Just as swimming for people is recognized for its conditioning and therapeutic value, so has it been recognized for “man’s best friend” -the dog. For dogs that are overweight, need conditioning, or have disabilities that make normal exercise painful or inappropriate, swimming can provide an excellent alternative or supplement to ground-based programs. Also, swimming can provide dogs excellent rehabilitation therapy, aerobic conditioning, exercise, relaxation, interaction with other dogs and great of fun! b. how to swim Dogs, like all animals, have the natural ability to swim but generally have to learn water confidence before a specific swimming program can be developed. There are two swimming pools in our company. A training pool provides the initial swimming introduction and allows the dog to gain their water confidence. The main pool allows the dog to swim in 30 yard laps or to swim freely to retrieve, train or just swim for the fun of it. Swim Center staff performs the initial swimming of the dog, but owners are encouraged to take over once the dog has graduated from the training class. Dogs wear a chest harness for support and are walked down a gentle sloping ramp into the water. For dogs with paralysis or inability to walk, they are gently lifted and placed into the water and supported by the harness, or in some cases a flotation device may be used, while they develop their swimming stroke. Once the dog is comfortable...

...has given me the tools needed for me to be able to get out in my community and serve. I got into Kamehameha in ninth grade, but I had been doing the Kamehameha enrichment programs since Explorations or Ho‘omāka‘ika‘i. Through the enrichment programs I learned about my culture and cultivate land; this is what set up my belief of aloha 'āina. I have since done clean up work on beaches and around the island. My father taught me to always be involved in the community and took me and my other siblings to Ku'ilioloa Heiau in Poka`i Bay to clean up the invasive plants. Moving on from plants, I have also worked with animals. My aunt used to be a part of Fido, which is a service dog organization, and I would often go along with her and help out with the other dogs being raised. In Kamehameha I have joined the Cat and Dog Huggers Club, and through the club I go out on a Saturday every month to help with pet adoptions at the Kapolei Petco. In Wahiawa I work as a youth leader at my church and it has lead me to religious service. I help teach the younger children at church the message of the week, work in the nursery, and help set up the snacks for the end of church. These are only things I do on Sundays. Over vacations I have often helped with the vacation bible school my church puts together. Through my Church I have also been able to help out with Surfing the Nations passing out food to people in need. It is a little harder to attend every month because it is on a Wednesday when I have school...
