...“When I first met my boyfriend” When I first met my boyfriend “it was love at first sight” It was a breezy day in October. I was attending this vocational school in Gainesville, Florida. I was sitting at my desk completing this assignment my instructor had assigned to me. I could not help but to see his beautiful smile from way across the classroom. His appearance was very noticeable as well. My boyfriend came over to where I was sitting and introduce his self and told me his name and I told him mines. Then he started a conversation about this prelaw class we was in. He was asking me why I took this prelaw class and I told him I was very interested in law and I wanted to make it a career in the future. Then he told me I must be a brave woman to get into such dangerous career. After talking to him about my career he started telling me a little about his career and it was similar to mines. The bell rung and class was over for the day he shook my hand and left. First, the next day he came in class smiling normally he would sit across the classroom from me but this particular day he came and sat in the seat right next to me. Then he asked me how my morning was going so I replied ‘great’. He then went on to ask me about the assignment my teacher was explaining and he said he knew how to complete the assignment. The teacher ask all the students in class for their undivided attention while she go over the assignment that was due by end of the class. Shortly, after that I started...

...and morally weaken ourselves to complete this goal. Physical fitness professionals have provided us with such information regarding how we can set up a fit life style but we rarely pay attention to it. My purpose of taking a Kinesiology class was only to fulfill my required courses, but after starting with this class, I realized; I could definitely complete my goals of losing weight by just following my regular workouts for class. This routine has enhanced my stamina, helped my muscle soreness, workout time, and overall made me a healthy individual. I was always one of those individuals who would work out for fifteen minutes and get exhausted. I did not have enough stamina to stand more than fifteen minutes or do some other type of workout like, cycling or swimming. As I started with the required workouts for this class, I started seeing a dramatic change in my power of not getting tired quickly, of taking a longer time to get exhausted and shedding pounds with the pace of time. I do believe that one should have a moderate physical activity included in their daily lifestyle because it helps boost our strengths and makes us competitive towards our goals. As the book Principles and Labs for Physical Fitness mentions, “Regular moderate physical activity provides substantial benefits in health and well-being for the vast majority of people who are not physically active (Hoeger, 6)”. It was a tough routine to follow required by the class because of time conflicts and utter laziness...

...we made with those people . As I behaved disrespectfully to my teacher , I recognized that I was guilty and had a bad feelings about my friend , so i learned it was important to tell the truth . In 16 sep. 2010 , while we was sitting in the class , we had such recognized that the next class , “ Is that a geography class ” , we all don’t like to take it At this moment we had decided to make anything to waste the time of this class , “ We mustn’t give him the chance to start this class any more “ I said , that’s why we planned to make the teacher start to think to go away from the school and retire from the profession at all I had said to hany “ I have an idea , we can bring some tissues and some water and stick the tissues with the water and then through them on each other while the teacher is looking for us , and after he turn around we will through all the waterd tissues on the teacher “ hany said to me , “that’s an amazing idea” , lets start , so we started to make a two teams and start to bring the tissues and the water from outside before the teacher arrives the class . ...What I can say reflecting back on this class that I learned a lot. When I first started, I had no clue what this class was going to be like. All I heard that it was going to be a lot writing and essays. So at the start of the class, I was having a little bit of difficulty grasping the 100 word policy because I was used to writing the five sentences from Unv. 103, after my first post in the DQ discussion, I knew that this 100 word policy was serious. When the assignments came out for the week, I started thinking about what I wanted to type for answers and making sure I was following the 100 words policy the instructor was asking for. After practicing I started typing 100 words with ease, and I really felt comfortable typing answers to my DQ Questions. The only thing that I had trouble with in this class was the expository essay, because it has since high school since I last wrote some kind of essay. So I was kind of freaking out because it had been a long time and I wanted to do a good job. When we started using the GCU Library to find resources, it was a little hard at first, but after some practice it got easier. With learning how to find resources, also learned how to use the Purdue Online Writing Lab. The website had so much information how to write an effective essay from start to finish. After writing my first paper in several years, I actually did good job with the paper. I plan on using the skills I learned in this class, and applying to my next course. I understand...

...I used to think that I was “all that.” In elementary school and middle school I didn’t have to work hard and was able to get good grades without putting forth a lot of effort. My personal philosophy was that if I worked hard in class during the school day, then when I got home from school, my time should be my own. I had been successful following this belief system for years, and then, I enrolled in AP World History (APWH) in the tenth grade. My experiences in APWH changed my entire outlook on my role as a student and caused me to reevaluate my perspective on the things that were important to me. I had heard that APWH was going to require a lot of work, but I was sure that it would be no different than any other honors level class that I had taken. I received an assignment to complete during the summer. I started the work, but it was so boring that I never finished the readings. When school started, and the teacher began to give daily quizzes based on the summer readings, I knew I was in trouble. I started to fall behind due to the amount of time required to complete each assignment. I knew I wasn’t off to a good start of the school year. My grade began to tank and I was unable to keep up with the pace of this class. The downward spiral of my grades in APWH affected my other classes also. As I spent more time trying to bring up my grade in this class, my grades began to suffer in my other classes. I decided to make a drastic change. I needed to quit playing football to...

...School Bells… I started kindergarten at Spring Hill Elementary School. There my teacher’s name was Mr. Shortner. Around half way through the year I won student of the month at that school and not even three days later I switched schools to Chocachatti. My kindergarten teacher’s name there was Mrs. Noark. Everyone thought she was the best teacher ever. She didn’t like to give us homework so we used to call her Mrs. No Work. She was really nice and loved teaching the class. My mom was excited for me to go to kindergarten. She was excited because she wanted me to learn in a new environment and meet new friends and have fun new experiences. When I was in kindergarten I got in trouble for sleeping in class a few times. I would fall asleep while a teacher put on a movie or a video or when we had an easy day. Chocachatti is a performing arts school so we would do plays and musicals all the time. I remember my class was connected to another class in the hallway to get to the other class there was a little stage and seats for the audience. That was my favorite thing to do while I was in kindergarten. I would pretend that I was on stage performing a play and the audience of my friends...

...30th, I attended an AA meeting in Baltimore, MD. At the beginning, Rabbi Trencher and I were suppose to attend a NA meeting for youth, but they cancelled that one; so we went on an adventure. After being locked out of another meeting, we drove around riot tattered Baltimore City and ended up in the basement of a church in Fells Point. As soon as we enter the meeting, I felt the warmth and homeliness of the group. The welcoming committee made sure that we felt at home, that way we would continue coming. When the meeting commenced, people already started to fall asleep, play on their phones, etc. It seemed to be runned by all addicts, I feel that Rabbi Trencher and I were the only ones who weren’t addicts. The reader started by giving some housekeeping notes and one thing that caught my attention is when they said to have your slips signed go to Alex. It felt...

...Struggling an Online Class Who knew the first day of my sophomore year in high school I would find myself in a situation that I thought I would not be able to handle on my own? My Honors World History class was changed from a class taught by a teacher to a class taught by a computer. Yes indeed, they had changed my regular class to an online class instead. The principal had informed us it was last minute changes made by the school board. The school board had thought it would help us learn the material better. It took my classmates and me by surprise. I had never agreed to have this class online but had no choice but to stay in it. The counselors had advised me that I was not going to be able to move to a different class because they said moving from an honors class to a regular class would affect me. It would look bad on my transcript; therefore, it was not going to be recommended to move. As we started the class, I could tell this class wasn’t heading anywhere good. The way the system was set up was messed up. How it was set up so last minute everything was so unorganized. The program that we used for the class was confusing and slow. The teacher would have to assign each test/quiz/assignment to do them. It took forever to finish each assignment because the teacher was always so busy and each student would always be attacking her to assign the work for them. The principal felt bad about the decision that was made but could no longer do anything about it. I had to deal with the...

...CNA/Phlebotomy class made me wonder if that's what I really wanted. I started to question the one thing that had never changed in my life. I walked into class, talked to my friends for a few minutes, then sat down and waited on class to start. I was always anxious to know what tasks we would be performing that day. The bell rang, and as soon as it did, my teacher stood up from behind her desk with the biggest smile on her face. She cleared her throat and said "You guys get to watch a woman give birth today!" Everyone got so excited. I was relieved when she told us that it was just a movie and it wasn't live. As I was watching a woman give birth, all I could think about was how exciting it would be to deliever babies. That thought cleared my mind a few seconds later. The doctors cut the umbilical cord and delievered the placenta. I immediatly felt dizzy, so I put my head down on the table. Apparantly I had fainted because I woke up and I couldn't see anything, but I could hear everything going on around me. I started to panic. My teacher already had cold wash rags laying all over my body by the time I had woke up. Once I had come to realization of what had just happened, I started to think....

...I’m a junior in highschool, I still write like a middle schooler. I thought taking English Composition would be difficult for me, and although it wasn’t always easy, the class wasn’t as bad as I expected. English Composition improved my writing craft and the length of my papers. When I first started this class I didn’t have much of an idea on how to create a well-written paper. I’m still not at the level I would like to be, but I have improved. I used to think that every paper written for school had to be formal, and you couldn’t start a sentence with “and” or “but” or with the same word for multiple sentences in a row. From taking this class I have learned that those are types of writer’s craft. Starting the sentence with the same word is an echo effect and it’s used for emphasis. The piece that I believe shows most of my improvement is my analysis. I chose to do this piece on a song called “Scars to Your Beautiful.” I wasn’t sure how to really write an analysis. At first I tried to write about a picture where there was a young girl who seemed to be overwhelmed by school. She was surrounded by books and there was tons of writing and equations on a chalkboard behind her. I had no idea where to even...

...I had a life changing experience when I started going to church, and taking discipleship class. I developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I learned to build Christlike character, and achieve spiritual victory. In my family going to church was something we did faithfully. I can remember as a little girl every Saturday and, Sunday we would have Morning Prayer at Grandmother’s house. I like going to church, but I didn’t like going every Sunday. When I was a teenager, I would tell myself, when I get older, and move away, I’m never going to church again. When I was eighteen I moved to Atlanta, and I did that exactly, I stopped going to church. At first it was good, I enjoyed my Sundays, working, relaxing, or just doing nothing. Some Saturday nights, I stayed out late, partied knowing that there would be no prayer or church first thing Sunday morning. I did this for many years went by, I didn’t attend church while living in Atlanta. Then one day I started feeling like something was missing from my life, I started missing going to church. First I had to find a church, one that I would enjoy praise, worship and the sermon. I sent out to find that church, and I did that. I went for a little while as a visitor and I joined church at Voices Of Faith. One Sunday, an announcement was made for discipleship class, I didn’t know what the class was about, but I was curious after church I spoke to a representative, and I signed up. Little did I know that the classes were every...

...transition that I did was on September 30th. Identify the transition time: For this transition, I assisted the classes in switching classes and going back to their homerooms. I decided to start out with this transition, because it seemed a bit easier than taking a class to a special. I took the class that was in Mrs. Werne’s room back to their homeroom class from science, and then I picked up my Mrs. Werne’s class from math and took them back to our classroom. What management strategies or procedures did you use with the students? Since this was the first transition that I did on my own, I was a bit nervous. Since I wasn’t taking the class very far, it was hard to think of strategies to use for just a short period...

...Getting Organized I started my career in business as an unorganized individual who procrastinated as much as possible. I recently made a change to my life and the way I took charge in my daily activities. Before this class I started to un-clutter my life slowly but with this class I believe that it will help me get organized in every aspect of my life. I learned that there are many things that I can do to make my time efficient and the steps that I can make to stay organized. The first thing that I learned from the class is “Make room in your life for things that are most important to you”. The most important thing to me is my family and friends. I will start to make a balance between work and my life. I will take trips with my family and enjoy the time that I have with my friends on occasions. The next thing that is important to me is my health. I just made a change in my life by starting to exercise on a daily routine for at least thirty minutes a day. Also, I bought the bowflex tread climber so I really don’t have an excuse not to work out every day. The third thing that I believe is important to me is my religion. For the last month, my husband and I have been praying at home and we are trying to get in the habit of praying every night. The next thing that I believe that will help me out is giving my undivided attention to the task at hand. Many times in my life I try to multi-task and certain times it works but a lot of times I get jumbled up in too...
