Nike has three main products in footwear, appearence, and equipment . Nike founders were Bill Bowerman and Philip Knight, in 1964 known as the “Blue Ribbon sports”. That’s where Bill Bowerman and Philip Knight took a $500 pledged and purchased 300 pairs of shoes. Then Philip Knight began selling the shoes off his truck, and Bill Bowerman started to rip the shoes apart because he want to learn how they worked because he was a American track and field coach. Did you know that Philip knight ran for track in college for Bill Bownerman. Now today Nike’s headquarter is in Washington County of the United States near the Beaverton, Oregan area. That’s sitting on Six acres of land “Nike’s campus”, it has 17 main building on it. The original head-quarters officially open their door in 1990 and they have doubled in size by 2001. Nike has about 700 contract factories, in 52 countries that all manufacture all of Nike’s stuff. They have to order every 6 months at least or they lose a contract factory. Nike has more than 36,000 employees globally and 7,000 employees in the Beaverton, Oregon area. Nike products are designed for the specific sports and activities. The most popular product the more active sports “like running, basketball, footballs, etc”. Nike market their products that improves your abilities to run faster and jump higher than without Nikes and look good when being active.
Most of Nike’s product targets the more active and fitness industry, then any other industry area. The reason is it’s because people want to be healthier and want the best for their bodies. So it’s personal ethical of what brands to get. Nikes are a well known brand, where they have the pro athletes wear their product to help with their marketing their products.
Nikes used Prime Supplies and 2nd tier spend. To Nike 2nd tier program is the words for success of the Nike Supplies Diversity. Thats where Nike has a direct spending account, thats for good s and service that affect contract or work orders.
The political- legal environment affects the business for the fact that the law changes where Nike has to abide by this, that means that nike has been accused of using the child labor that was production of the soccer balls in the pakistan. the Pakistans are against child labor and slavery. Sometimes it’s for the good that helps Nike because of cheap labor and some of it is bad where it makes it hard to get around the problem cause no one wants to hear of 4 year old making soccer balls. Like the law changes all the time but thats a biggest factor in the Social, where it influences the communities, households, and the consumers in there bileifs that has a big deal because It tells a company like Nike what direction they should be heading when making products to make it better. The legal changes the laws on the employment law that affect it as well by age, wages, and the safety of the employees. Economically where the money goes like nike, add nearly $2 billion to the economy and it impacts the Oregon community with more jobs, and political on how the government policy can be affected because of the laws changing then that means that the E.G. can go in and change the law for the employment and standards of products. Now days technology has a big factor in how a business runs because Nike has to have the technology because of the factories that are global. So they can order products, plus they will have to have the technology to do their research for the product and design. Ethical has influence of good and bad of the morals of Nike. Even if they have a great product and have a bad reputation. All of these factors have an affect on every company no matter who they are, it can make or break a company
