Lack of consensus on forecasts that the departments of sales, marketing, finance and operation all had their own forecasts and they did not trust each other’s numbers. The lack of formalized process and communication of forecasting was the key reason underlying. Also, the data most relevant to forecasting was often not accurate or inusable and Leitax had no built-in system to monitor demand planning. Life cycle of certain products was often extended in order to push sales to resellers. Sell-in rather than sell-through was relied upon. The other aspect is the industry aspect that digital camera is a rapidly changing industry that new products had to be introduced frequently. These further distorted the forecasting and demand management issue. * What are the successful elements of the consensus forecasting process that should be maintained in the organization? ...amended and created over the years, lawmakers have neglected to create a substantial amount of laws that take diversity into account. In the instance of selling drugs, certain drugs such as crack, a drug used primarily by African Americans, result in longer prison sentences and higher penalties. On the other hand, cocaine, a drug used primarily by Whites, ensues fewer penalties. Our laws must take ethnic differences into account because not all crimes result in the same course of punishment. In this paper, I will discuss the impact of culture on the criminal justice system and describe contemporary methods used by the police department and security firms while working with diverse populations. Furthermore, I will detail nondiscriminatory practices within the criminal justice system and outline Sir Robert Peel’s nine principles in relation to police departments. Race and ethnicity are important factors to incorporate into laws. Many of the current laws are outdated in the sense that they do not take cultural differences into account. Current US populations have a different racial and ethnic make-up than when most laws and the Constitution were created. Present day America has numerous immigrants, legal or otherwise, who must live and abide by outdated, and at times, unfair laws. Immigrants, on a whole, are fearful of being a part of the criminal justice system, whether as a witness, perpetrator, or victim; they are fearful of being deported back to their home country where...

...comparison contained within this paper consists of the evaluation of three individual performance measurements that exist in management. The individual performance measurements are broken down in order to better understand the inner workings of such measurements goals. Therefore the end result will be measured by how important performance management actually is. In the world of business there are many cliché’s about how performance measurements are implemented and what they actually do such as “if your company doesn’t measure results then you can’t tell success from failure.” http://www.balancedscorecard.org/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx The key focus on strategic objectives should always articulate precisely what the organization wants to accomplish which is the key to finding accurate, true, strategic measurements. The strategic performance measures will allow the organization to monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the operational efficiency. The best performance measures will provide a way to monitor and see if that strategy is actually working. Focusing on the importance of the employee’s contribution to the success of the organization is another important measure that can be added along with providing a common language for the communication of everyone. Performance measurement is so vital in the structure of an organization because it is an ongoing and constant reporting and monitoring of accomplishments. Typically the program is implemented by agency management...

...InTech System Proposal CIS/207 Seth Copenhaver, David Kriner, Meg Morgan July 28th, 2014 University of Phoenix The System InTech is an Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) based system, integrated with Business Intelligence (BI) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to increase performance. “Basically, ERP is large complex information systems that integrate and stream line the organization’s business process across departmental and geographical borders” (Nafeeseh & Al-Mudimigh, 2011). InTech can help to cut costs, as well as promote growth and increase overall customer service and experience. It does this by helping to streamline and automate work and data flow, as well as transaction processing. "The system of ERP and BI integrated can enhance and improve the ability of companies to decision-making by leveraging the ability to manage data from the ERP system and the analytical capabilities of the BI system. This integration leads to optimal use of both ERP and BI systems"(Nofal & Yusof, 2013).One of the major requests of businesses today is for a system that would allow efficient utilization of collected information from local to corporate, especially on ‘ordering and distribution’ and ‘trends and sales’. BI accomplishes this objective, and with its integration into InTech, allows even greater processing capabilities. Set Up A two tier set up allows even further efficiency as it allows resident management the tools they need to make decisions in the...

...This semester I had the opportunity to attend my first Environmental Justice event which was held at the City Hall in Downtown. I decided to attend the event not only because extra credit was offered but because as a citizen of this beautiful and prosperous city, I am also concerned of the environmental damage caused by capital such as local businesses and transportation state agency (i.e the MBTA and the use of pesticides at their construction sites according to reports I’ve read online, “Inner-city Pesticide use as an Environmental Injustice” by Dr. Daniel Faber). I live in Jamaica Plain which is a low-income neighborhood, considering the fact that most of the population is composed Latinos and African Americans. Thus, it was of my greatest interest to attend this event and learn more about environmental justice in my community....
