Abstract

Communication involves spread of ideas and information between people. Communication helps in expressing feelings, emotions, opinions, and ethics and also represents class. It is therefore vital in all aspects of life ranging from that between parents and children, management and employees, employee and employee or even husband and wife. The characteristics of those involved in the process of communication can therefore affect communication. The differences in the diversity and characteristics of employees can also lead to conflicts in communication or miscommunication. The gender differences in conveying messages are as a result of biological, psychological, religious and cultural differences among men and women (Tannen, 1993).

Keywords: communication, gender differences

Conflicts at the office might be due to the long hours the employees or workers spend together, the differences in the positions of the administration and the problems that arise from change of place of work. Since gender is a culture, it has norms and standards which lead to misunderstandings between people of different sex. The differences can be in the nature of attitudes towards work and their relationships. Women like building interactions so as to achieve different responsibilities.

They find it comfortable to be assisted as long as it would lead to realization of a particular objective that was set out at the commencement. This is contrary to men who are task leaning and put up relations in the line of the project. The differences in the manner the different employees belonging to different sex, leads to lack of co-operation among the employees giving rise to miscommunication at the workplace.

I was admitted into school but I dropped out from there because of my poverty. I was born in a poor family and we were four brothers and three sisters. We found a place to live in Kamlapur rail station. After one year my father married another woman and left us. At that time my mother managed everything for us by collecting bottles and other garbage. I with my other siblings did begging in the streets of Dhaka. From 2006 I started pulling rickshaw and managed a house in Kamlapur slum. After the next day of entering into the Kamlapur slum, destruction happened in our life. A fire took place in the slum and died many people in it. My younger brother died in it. My mother got seriously injured in the fire. I hardly managed my family consisting five members. My younger brother and sisters read in BRAC school. They also collect garbage to earn some money. They hardly earn 70 to 80 taka per day. Every day I wake up at 5 am and go to the garage. Why Renting in Today’s Economy Is Better Than Buying a House

...Why Renting in Today’s Economy is better than Buying a House Matt Harrell COM/156 November 7, 2010 Karen Campbell Why Renting in Today’s Economy is better than Buying a House Foreclosure crisis is at an all time high across most large metropolitan areas in the United States. Seattle- Tacoma- Bellevue metro area registered the sharpest annual increase, 71% or one in every 129 households received a foreclosure notice. California, Nevada, Florida, and Arizona remain the hotspots for foreclosure across the nation according to RealtyTrack Incorporated Rick Sharga a senior vice president at RealtyTrack quoted “The epidemic is spreading from the states at the ground zero of the foreclosure problems out into areas that had not been previously affected.” One of the latest signs that the foreclosure crisis is worsening across the nation is, high unemployment, slow job growth, and homeowners are uncertain about falling home prices. Concerning housing, he or she has options. He or she has an option to rent and an option to buy. Renting an apartment is a better option than buying a house both renting and buying has many advantages and disadvantages. By explaining these advantages and disadvantages, I will persuade him or her into renting over buying. While renting he or she can save money, instead of spending money. “A survey conducted by Harris Interactive for the National Apartment Association in May 2010 found that 76% of those surveyed now believe that renting is a better...

...investment in real estate. He found a 4-unit building on 19 Pickney St. in Boston. Our analysis showed he should obtain $450,000 through a 20-year mortgage at 8%, as was offered to him by Sarah Harris, in order to invest in this property. The Property The property is located at 19 Pinckney St. in the back slope of the historical neighborhood of Beacon Hill in Boston. It is a 4-unit residential building, which a fire has destroyed in 2003, and thereafter only the structural shell remained. An architect started renovating it but stopped in the middle due to lack of funds. The asking price is set at $350,00. A contractor priced the remaining work at $165,000 and said it would be completed within 6 months; thereafter, the building will have three 2-bedroom apartments and one 1-bedroom apartment on the top floor. Alexander estimates that he would be able to do the reconstruction himself and it would take him only 4 months. This assumption seems unrealistic given Alexander’s full-time job and lack of experience in construction. It is also assumed that if he insisted to do so, lenders will be hesitant to finance his project. Therefore, total approximate cost of the renovated building is $515,000. Location This location has been demonstrating rising property values. Newbury Street, Financial District and the Boston Commons are within less than a 15-minutes walk. Potential renters will also appreciate the proximity of the river and esplanade within a 10-minute walk. The neighborhood...

1. Explain Whether or Not the Fact That Gabby’s Surname Is Rally Gives Her the Right to Use It Any Way She Wishes.

...Explain whether or not it matters that Rally is associated with pizza.Tradename protection extends to zone of reputation, zone of expansion, and zone of marketing in addition to being the first in the area. Because Rally is associated with Pizza andwith Motors, it is not as much of a conflict as it would have been if Gabby had a used car dealership and decided to call it Rally¶s Used Cars. According to Robert Wayne Olson Jr¶sexample, ³The Rose Cafe (a restaurant) does not conflict with The Rose Law Firm (legalservices), nor does either conflict with Rose Story Farm (a nursery). However, if Violet Rosewants to open the Violet Rose Bistro, that name could be sufficiently confusing to bar its use inthe same area as The Rose Café.´ In my opinion it is not distinct and therefore can beconsidered as confusing. In order to be protected under tradename laws, the business owner must not have a confusingly similar name to a company that was registered in the same 4 Running head: RALLY ROUND THE TRADE NAME geographic area first. Dimensions of conflict that can arise between hotel operators and owners are examined. Consistent with expectations motivated by agency theory, data collected suggest that capital budgeting systems in hotels operating under a divorced owner / operator structure exhibit more formalisation and a greater propensity for investment proposal cash forecast biasing. These findings suggest a degree of dysfunctionalism associated with the divorced / owner operator structure widely adopted in the hotel industry. The Rental Heart

...The rental heart Often when you fall in love you will end up with a broken heart. That happens to everyone at some point. But why not just go and rent a new heart? That is what he is doing in the text and what the story is about. And yes I think the main character is a boy, because if it was a girl, that had got her heart broken, it would be much more dramatic. The main character keeps getting hurt, so instead of dealing with the pain, he just visit the heart rental place, and rent a new heart. But even though he keeps getting a new heart, in someway it does not make him fully recoverer. Because the pain is not only in your heart ,it is also in your mind. So even though the pain in the heart is gone, the pain in the mind is still there. The title “ The rental heart” is very describing for the text. Often when you read a text, the title does not really have so much to do with the rest of the story. But that is not the case in this story. Because this story is about a guy, getting his heart broken, and the rent hearts. So the title is very appropriate. His first love was Jacob, and it is clearly that he was very much in love with him. “Jacob was as solid and golden as tilled field, and our love was going to last forever, which in our age meant six months. Every time Jacob touched me, I felt my heart thud wetly against my lungs”. The story takes use of flashbacks, as you can see in the quote above. The main character is definitely bisexual, he is in to girls as well...

Moorefield, West Virginia, a predominantly White community, of which I am one, is historically a town driven by factories and food industry, has become a destination for those seeking entry-level employment in the United States. Moorefield is a small rural farming and agricultural community in Hardy County, West Virginia. Moorefield is the county seat of Hardy County. "Moorefield was originally chartered in 1777 and named for Conrad Moore, who owned the land on which the town was built. Com 156 Week 8 Assignment

...Com 156, Assignment Week 8 I will use definitions in my paper. The reason is many people know that they have the option to rent or buy a home but they are not all familiar with the terminology. Rental property, investment property, equity, and principal and interest (P&I) are all terms that many people may not be familiar with. The whole point of my paper is to try to persuade someone to buy a home instead of renting for the rest of their lives. I cannot persuade someone to do something if they cannot understand the points that I am trying to make. Therefore definitions, or at least a quick explanation, would absolutely benefit my paper. Also, if I use terms that the audience does not understand this can make them decide to stop reading or completely shut out the possibility of considering my ideas. I would not feel comfortable, or see the point, of reading a story in a language that I did not understand. The same applies to reading information in any essay. The point of creating a persuasive essay is to persuade the reader. This can only be done if the reader can comprehend the material. I believe that compare and contrast could definitely work in my favor when trying to persuade the audience, it can also work against me. I do not want to list too many negative points about renting because that will make the reader think that I am trying to push my ideas on them. On the other hand, I do want to point out some of the major points that will help me persuade...

...Corporate Governance and Accounting Conservatism in China* Donglin Xiaa and Song Zhub,** b School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, China School of Economics and Business Administration, Beijing Normal University, China a Abstract A principal-agent relationship exists among creditors, shareholders and management, and information asymmetry among them leads to asymmetric loss functions, which induces conservative accounting. This paper investigates the determinants of accounting conservatism using accrual-based measures and data from 2001 to 2006 in China. We find that a higher degree of leverage, lower level of control of ultimate shareholders and lower level of management ownership lead to more conservative financial reporting. We also find that political concerns and pressures among state-owned enterprises are greater than those among non-state owned enterprises, which leads to more conservative financial reporting among the former. However, a decrease in such concerns leads to a decrease in accounting conservatism. Overall, we find that among the determinants of conservatism in China, debt is the most important, followed by ownership, and that board has little influence.
