Internal and External Persuasive Communication

Given that there are numerous stakeholders for Best Games Productions, I will concentration my paper on Quality Control for my internal stakeholder analysis and to the audience as the stakeholders on the outside. The Quality team as an inside stakeholder works not because they just need to work but because they know that their accomplishment would be the company's accomplishment and will help them in a big way. The external stakeholders on the other hand or the expected audiences and customers do not work for the company but whose decision can influence on how the company will play out in the market as a game developer company.

In the past 24 months, Best Games has been developing a game that they believe will put their company name on top. The game was set to be released on the upcoming Holiday where in consumers are known to be spending a lot of money buying stuffs for children like gaming consoles and video games. When the launch was almost near, a bug was suddenly discovered affecting the game's quality. The question now is that should Best Games still release the game as promised despite possible bad publicity that it will cause once the game's bug appear and affect the gamers. Or should the company compromise the marketing strategy they had worked on until they can fix the bug on the game before releasing it hence affecting most of their fans and possibly risking them getting a different game instead.

Basically, as a consultant for the company I am looking at the possible advantages and disadvantages that the decision of delaying might provide. Looking at a possible long-term effect, releasing it on time might save our marketing some money there is no need for longer promotion and ads but losing their external stakeholders once, the bug began to show up and makes all buyers angry and frustrated. I believe keeping our name as one of the best in game developing should be our main focus rather than spending or extending our budget for few more dollars. I will now take a looking at the bigger picture.

Press Release for External Stakeholders

Kelchner (2014) stated that before you attempting to persuade, that is important to understand the target audience. As a company, one of our best identities is for being a committed company in what we promote and develop as a game developer company. I know that customers would appreciate an honest company thus advising them of the delay and the reason why would be better than sacrificing the quality of the game just to meet deadlines. Our aim is to provide entertainment and help these people enjoy their gaming consoles and not to make them more exasperated. However, if we will explain that the reason for delay is that we are ensuring the quality of the game to meet the company's standard. Our decision to delay the release of the game that we have been working on for the past two years was made after a lot of thinking and considerations. Knowing that the game is not at its full performance, we are informing the public that the game will not be released this holiday until further notice. We do understand how this will be a disappoint to some of our great gamers out there but our obligation to quality and satisfaction prevails rather than earning money and later on answer all those questions that we know are inevitable if we will release the game on its current state. According to Kelchner (2014), it is essential to have credibility in order to persuade colleagues, employees and even upper management.

Noise That Distract Internal and External Stakeholder

Noise is something that our company fears after releasing our statement that the game's launch will need to be pushed back. The noise that our distracters will be creating could be loud enough to cause stir among our audiences. In short, gossips and wrong information can greatly influence our decision and our external stakeholders. To lessen the impact of such bad noises and publicity, we did the announcement in public in order to give all involved individuals firsthand information about the issue.

As an individual that had the opportunity to talk to clients and takes other people's opinion about Best Games, I know that it would be best to work with the bug first before releasing the game. Many people might be talking negatively about the reason of why the launch of this controversial game but then giving an honest reason that it is for the best reason might be better and understandable for common audience. This will not compromise the company's name and credibility although at the same time we are aware of possible numbers of customers who will lose faith on us.

Synopsis During the press release, I made sure that the negative thing that happened to our new game was turned into a positive thing by using positive scripting. Instead of saying, we are sorry for the inconvenience or for the delayed release of our new game; I recapped that our company value quality above all and that we want to keep our standard on high that is why we are not releasing the game yet until it is perfect. My message is clear, the delay is not for us but for the gamers who in the first place are the reason why we are developing these games.

As a consultant and face of Best Games, I did not deny the fact about the new game being delayed but instead went out and made the announcement to the public about the reason as to why we are delaying the release. In the end, our purpose prevailed in the mind of all who know us and the kind of game we produce, we are a company of quality and this is what we want for all of our games. According to Persuasive Communications - think of the possibilities! (2014), the purpose of persuasive presentation is to convince one or more person to agree with your point of view or to take the kind of action that you want them the take.
So stop and avoid any possible problem with our detractors giving out false news and distracting information to our audience and lovely gamers out there, I released a statement sticking to the goal of the company and our mission to be the best in every game we release.

Conclusion

In creating the external stakeholders press release, I chose to be straightforward and truthful. I analyzed the intended audience and anticipated reactions to the news. While the news was of a negative connotation, I enhanced the message by letting customers know that we care about their satisfaction and loyalty by sharing Best Game Productions ethical principles in the release. Furthermore, I made sure to let customers know that we are doing everything in our power to resolve the situation. This distracts from the negative noise the press release delivering.
