Abstract: The Title of our Investigatory Project is Aloe Vera Sanitizer. This days people are really prone to diseases just by simply touching a dirty thing, and commonly our hands are particularly one of the suspects on why we usually has germs in our body that sometimes causes us to be ill, that’s why our group decided to make an Aloe Vera Sanitizer. Aloe Vera gel has alleged to be useful for dry skin conditions, cosmetic ailments, hair and scalp problems and many more. First we scrape the gel out of the Aloe Vera so that our sanitizer would be sticky .We used Alcohol, Aloe Vera Gel, and essential oil to make up to that sanitizer. We mixed all the materials and then after that we stirred it and come up to a Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer. Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer is more effective at killing microorganisms than soaps. Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer helps us to kill germs and bacteria`s in our hands. Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer will help us stay our hands clean and far from diseases that can harm us and lead us to serious problems or even death.

Background of the Study *Aloe Vera *Alcohol

-Aloe Vera has been used for a host of purposes since the ancient Egyptians called it the “plant of immortality”. Aloe Vera is a cactus plant that belongs to the Liliaceae family. It grows in dry climates such as those found in parts of Africa and India has been used medicinally for centuries. Aloe leaves secrete a clear gel that when broken off from the rest of the plant that can be applied topically to heal wounds and soothe skin.

Aloe Vera is a succulent plant species that is found only in cultivation, having no naturally occurring populations , although closely related aloe’s do occur in Northern Africa. The species is frequently cited as being used in herbal medicine since the beginning of the first century AD. Extracts from Aloe Vera are widely used in the cosmetics and alternatively medicine industries, being marketed as variously having rejuvenating, healing or soothing properties.

It acts as moisturizer .Aloe moisturizes the skin without giving it a greasy feel, so it’s perfect for anyone with an oily skin complexion. For women who use mineral-based make-up, aloe vera acts as the moisturizer and is great for the face prior to the application to prevent skin drying. For men Aloe Vera gel can be used as an aftershave treatment as it’s healing properties can treat small cuts caused by shaving.

Aloe Vera is used popularly by many cosmetic products manufacturers to lower the harmful effects of the sun. It is used in moisturizing creams and lotions. Aloe Vera oil can be combined with other essential oils to heal and rejuvenate the skin. This has astringent properties for the skin’s repair process.

Aloe Vera oil is a very good source of anti-oxidants that can be useful in preventing skin damage from radiation. It includes aloe-emodin to eliminate the viruses that lead to cold, sores and shingles . This solid materials contains over 75 different nutrients including vitamins, minerals ,enzymes ,sugars ,anthraquinones or phelonic compounds, lignin ,saponins , sterols , amino acids ,and salicylic acid . - Alcohol (Arabic al-kuhul), term applied to members of a group of chemical compounds and, in popular usage, to the specific compound ethyl alcohol, or ethanol. The Arabic word denotes kohl, a fine powder of antimony used as an eye makeup. The word alcohol originally denoted any fine powder; the alchemists of medieval Europe later applied it to essences obtained by distillation, and this led to the current usage.

Alcohol is a surface disinfectant. The body metabolizes the alcohol to sugars and consumes it. Consumer alcohol based hand sanitizers, and health care hand alcohol or alcohol hand antiseptic agents are antiseptic products used to avoid transmission of pathogens. The exist in liquid, foam and easy-flowing gel formulations. The level of alcohol varies between 60% And 85%

Alcohol rub sanitizers kill most bacteria, and fungi, and stop some viruses. Alcohol rub santizers containing at least 70% alcohol (Mainly Ethyl Alcohol) kill 99.9% of the bacteria of the hands 30 seconds after application and 99% to 99.999% in one minute.

When hands are not visibly dirty, the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention and many other world public health authorities recommend alcohol hand sanitizers as an acceptable alternative to soap and water for hand hygiene.

Alcohol rubs, kill many different kinds of viruses (but are highly flammable), including enveloped viruses such as the flu virus, the common cold virus, and HIV though is notably ineffective against the rabies virus. Alcohol kills both pathogenic (disease causing) microorganism as well as resident bacterial flora, which generally do not cause illness. However , alcohol also strips the skin of the outer layer of oil, which may have negative effects on barrier function of the skin.

Significance of the Project We choose this project because now a days, people come through many interactions with things. People are really busy in preparing many stuff. People don’t really even care about their safety about their health conditions. One of our main concern is our hands, Hands play an important role to everyone. Hands are very useful in any aspects. Our hands do so much for us. They are capable of a wide variety of functions: touching, grasping, feeling, holding, manipulating, caressing and more. They are vitally important part of who we are and how we see ourselves. Our hands can perform extremely gentle and precise actions such as writing a letter, painting a picture, threading a needle or playing a violin. That’s why we come up to a decision that we will make a Hand Sanitizer, so that we people can avoid germs to our hands. Once we touched a visible dirty thing, that means our hands has already a germs that may harm us because we directly sometimes touch our eyes, nose, ears, mouth and others, which may cause a various illness to us. By applying a hand sanitizer we can easily be free from those dirty germs, because hand sanitizer works by stripping away outer layer of oil on the skin. This usually prevents bacteria present in the body from coming to the surface of the hand. Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer can help us be free from germs and other bacteria’s that is in our hands. Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer will make us feel that we are now free from germs.

Limitations & Delimitations Limitations:
>The Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer cannot kill all organisms.
>They are not effective against Anthrax.
>They are not effective against Clostridium Difficile which has become resistant to Antibiotics.
>Hand Sanitizer are not suitable for removing visible dirt from the hands, they are best used on clean hands that might contain non-visible dirt. Delimitations:
>Hand sanitizers promote compliance with hand hygiene practices because they do not require water
>Dry quickly on the skin
>They can also be used anywhere by adults and children and do not require a visit to a restroom
>Can be brought anywhere and can fit in to a pocket/purse

Hypothesis

Methodology * First we prepared the materials that are needed. * Next we cut the aloe vera in to half and after that we scrubbed the gel of it and put it in a container. * After that we mixed the following: Alcohol, Aloe Vera Gel, Essential Oil and a Scented Perfume. * And lastly after mixing it we put it to a container.
