Jenolan Caves is located in rural New South Wales in the Blue Mountains, which is a three hour drive from Sydney ((Bluemts.com.au, 2015). This tourist attraction features a 10 caves and offers tours during the day and night. It has also won numerous tourism awards and is a world heritage listed site(VisitNSW.com, 2015).

About the caves
According to the CSIRO, the caves are approximately 340 million years old. The cave tours are open every day and are suited to all ages and fitness levels, with prior notice they are able to offer wheelchair access. The tours take 1-2 hours and have a few sessions per day. It currently lacks public transport facilities which has the potential to boost tourists who are unable to travel via car ie International tourists or interstate tourists. This could be one of the main reasons why tourists are deterred from going to Oberon. There is however the option for tourists to do day trips with private coach companies but these may not offer enough adventure seeking for tourists who want to stay longer.

Events
Jenolan caves features a few special events outside of the regular activities, the caves features opera singing, an underground church service and rhythm underground. There are also more events but the event offering differs depending on seasonality. Lucas cave holds the opera singing and most of the musical performances in Jenolan due to its cathedral shape.

Unique issues associated with this DMO
The main concerns with Jenolan caves is that the quality of experience for future tourists is heavily dependent on whether or not the current tourists treat the caves with respect, which includes not touching the rocks because the oils from your skin damages the rock. Jenolan caves offers tourists a few special interests including adventure travel, ecotourism and nature based tourism, and heritage/historic tourism.
