Introduction by Francisco Rodriguez:

We gather here today, united as brothers and sisters, all sons of God, to thank the lord and to embrace the journey of Peace which is about to begin. I am about to introduce a leader whose words are a chain of lead, in hope that he can inspire all of us who have joined the journey and to persuade many more to grab the hand of god and together search for peace among all. A few months ago on January 6 the country went into war with our neighboring country Chile after they invaded the city of Tacna, not willing to lose part of our territory again, the military opted to fight back resulting in the beginning of a war, breaking the peace of our nation. In response to the events, I present to you an individual …show more content…
I would like to begin by thanking every single one of you for attending this event in support of peace for the nation and in the near future, peace for the world.

Many might argue that listening to a war veteran speak of peace is nonsense as I, personally can be considered a sinner, a peace destroyer and a life taker; but I speak these words today not to ask for forgiveness or understanding but to promote peace among all of us, to try and stop the fighting that does nothing more than break peace and destroy lives because I have experienced these fatality, I am responsible for destroying peace and I am guilty of the sin.

Ten years ago I left the army after serving my country for twelve years, and I have to admit, it was one of the hardest choices I ever had to make, but I did it with one sole reason in mind, to reach peace, inner peace, because before wanting peace for the whole nation I had to be in peace with myself. After so many wars, so much fighting and killing I felt unsafe and alone with myself, after experiencing so much suffering on a daily basis I develop traumas which still haunt me today. I would like to begin by thanking God for helping me change my perspective and do good for the …show more content…
Through the governmental perspective, when agreements cannot be reached upon two nations, the biggest fish seeks to destroy the smallest fish through nothing less than fighting, just like the most primitive of times. It is a shame to see how power and glory lead to dehumanization, it is truly a shame. To observe how a leader’s ambitions lead a whole army of men to behave like dogs, and forces them to commit the worst sin of them all, to take another man’s life. Who ever gave us that right? Who ever told us we could decide upon another man’s fate? A few years back I was in the battlefield, we had recently won a fight in one of the northern regions of Chile, Arica, and I can remember all of my comrades faces, they were all happy and joyful except for one, he was lying next to the body of what seemed to be a teenage boy holding his sister’s hand. I approached him and as I kneeled down next to him and looked at him into his crying eyes I was able to see all of his emotions, the feeling of disgust and guilt he had. He went on to tell me that these children, small creatures of god, had lost their lives in a crossfire and he had watched them both fall down as the bullets left his rifle and trespassed their bodies as if they were nothing more but

Gene's Journey In A Separate Peace

...In A Separate Peace, John Knowles uses Gene’s journey and his encounters with multiple levels of war to teach readers that war carries lasting effects on Gene of his interpersonal, internal, international relationship with himself and the other characters in the novel. By all means, Gene’s internal relationship with Finny would be jealously because he would always seem to one up Gene.“It was hypnotism. Was beginning to see that Phineas could get away with anything. I couldn’t help envying him that a little”(25)This quote demonstrates Gene’s internal friendship because it shows that Gene was wanting to be just like Finny and wanting to have the same characteristics as him. He is being desirous towards Finny but he knows he can’t be him. This...

Symbolizing Gene's Journey In A Separate Peace By John Knowles

...Throughout the novel A Separate Peace, John Knowles uses the war to symbolize Gene’s journey as he deals with his internal struggles with hatred towards Finny, and confusion in himself. In the beginning of the story, Gene is ignorant towards his internal struggles as he becomes jealous of Finny. Similarly, the war is not acknowledged by Finny, which is evident when he states, “the fat old men who don’t want us crowding them out of their jobs. They’ve made it all up. There isn’t any food shortage, for instance” (115). Finny pretends the war is not real, in the same way that Gene acts as if his rage towards Finny is normal and justified. Gene uses ignorance towards his own intentions just like Finny uses ignorance towards the war, as a way of dealing with their problems by pretending they are not there....

The Night Journey

...Story of Al-Isra' wal-Mi'raj (The Night Journey) In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful.  الإسراء والمعراج On 27th Rajab, all the Muslim believers celebrate this as a grand day of Mi'raj as "Grand Eid" and all the Muslims should be proud to have such a prophet like Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him and his progeny (Ahlul Bayt), to whom Almighty Allah (swt) was also proud and had invited him to visit and talked with very nearer distance as mentioned in the Glorious Qur'an 53:9. Also note that, the Mi'raj of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him and his progeny has taken place more than once. However, it should be mentioned that Mi'raj in which the daily Salat was made incumbent, without doubt, occurred before the death of Hazrat Abu Talib, who passed away in the 10th year of Besat. Unmistakably, from the Ahadith and books of history, it is mentioned that on the night of Mi'raj, Allah (swt) gave the order of the five daily Salat as being mandatory upon the Islamic Nation. The darkness of the night had spread across the horizon and silence reigned over the face of nature. The time had arrived when the living creatures take rest and sleep so that they might recuperate from their activities of the previous day. Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), was also not an exception to this law of nature and he wished to take rest after offering his prayers (Salat) in the house of "Umm-e-Hani", the daughter of his uncle and sister of Amir al-Mominin...

...At the beginning of the poem, Rossetti says "Does the road wind up-hill all the way?/ Yes, to the very end" (1-2). I believe that in these two lines, Rossetti expresses the distress she is feeling with life in general and how she cannot believe it just keeps going on and on. She uses the road as a symbol for the journey of life and she cannot believe it is windy, or difficult the whole way up the hill, or through the path of life. She goes on to say "Will the day's journey take the whole long day?/ From morn to night my friend" (3-4). In these lines, she is in this dialect with someone and is complaining that the journey of life takes the "whole long day," or in other words, she is in awe that it will take her entire life. In saying this, she is expressing how stressful and difficult she thinks of the journey of life and cannot believe she will have to go through the entire process to get to a peaceful place. I believe the person means from birth to death by their response. I think of the person talking to her as some short little elf-eared man for some reason. I picture him nicer than the men from "Goblin Market," but I think I still picture him as a goblin man because he the one that is giving her these answers that are difficult to hear, but is also telling her how to get to a better place. "But is there for the night a resting place? A roof for when the slow dark hours begin. May not the darkness hide it from my face? You cannot miss them" (5-8). Rossetti is searching...

Examining Frost

...chose to answer is about the symbolism in the setting of this poem. In our text a symbol is defined as a person place or thing in a narrative that suggests meaning beyond its literal sense. The simplistic setting represents the author’s need for peace, rejuvenation and a reminder of home, before he starts out again on his journey. Few places can be considered as comforting and peaceful and lovely as a familiar forest covered in snow. Since the writer was not afraid of being alone I believe he must be very familiar with the forest and probably grew up near it. The wood behind my house was a very special place for me. In the summertime it was a place to build forts and have adventures with my friends. On cool summer nights, it’s where my friends and I would pitch a tent and tell scary stories by flashlight. My family and I would go on hikes and discover a new place to pick wild blueberries for a pie my mother would bake that evening. Before the age of computers and cell phones, nature was where we learned about life. It was where the world would stop and we could imagine, dream and pray about the past, present and future. Before the author’s next journey, he is drawn to the quiet serene forest where he can contemplate his life’s journey up until this...

...My Experience at Mary Queen of Peace School My knowledge has grown tremendously at Mary Queen of Peace School. In first Grade, I learned basic grammar and spelling. In Second Grade, my pencil stayed on the paper continually as I wrote in cursive for the first time. It was very exciting and I loved being able to write faster and therefore get assignments done quicker. Math was hard and challenging because each day the class had to complete 100 math problems in a certain amount of time. When third grade arrived, it was on to book reports and short stories in literature. One book report each month was required and I got the choice of presenting my report with a shoebox presentation or poster. There were lots of interesting books I explored and a lot of unique topics I was discovering. Fourth Grade contained more homework, but I got through it. At...

Having financial peace should be the goal of everyone but knowing how to obtain it is a quest of it on. Financial Peace University is the way to go because they have everything that anybody would need at the click of your mouse. Before I took this course I search Google high and low on how to work a budget. FPU have what they call a quickie budget form that start off someone that might not have never did a budget this way a real budget want seem so overwhelming. The biggest problem that most individual have in obtaining financial peace is procrastination like “we will start budgeting after we get the big screen TV.” Dave Ramsey is now my new found friend he said some things to me that needed to be said. The word budget holds a lot of weight because it pertains to discipline. Discipline is defined as self-control something that most people don’t want to deal with. Having a good budget is like having your own private police that lets you know if you are breaking the law or not. Martin Luther King said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”It is best to have control over your financial affairs then they have control over. Indian Horse By Richard Wagamese Character Analysis

In Richard Wagamese’s novel Indian Horse, the protagonist Saul’s journey mirrors this sentiment.
