...MGMT 530 Week 7 Course Project US Foods To Buy This material Click below link http://www.uoptutors.com/mgmt-530/mgmt-530-week-7-course-project-us-foods The objective of the Course Project is to provide you with practice in creating, justifying, and explaining a decision-making proposal. All elements involved in the creation of this proposal, from problem definition through action plan, must be covered. Further, the proposal, as constructed, must meet the tests of any sound business plan, namely that it has specific and measurable goals and objectives, clearly defined activities, stipulated time frames during which those activities will take place, and clearly defined measurable outcomes. The subject matter of your paper should be business-oriented in nature and should avoid decisions that depend largely on intuition to solve. Although the length of the paper is not predetermined, a 10–15 page analysis, including data and appendices, is probably correct. You will also share a summary PowerPoint presentation with fellow students during the Week 6 Discussion. The Final Course Project Proposal with the PowerPoint presentation is due by the end of Week 7 (graded). Required Outline The following outline is required for your Course Project. Executive Summary (less than one page) This summary is a short, carefully worded description of the problem situation that identifies the recommended solution. ...Performance Appraisal Assignment Cherise Edwards BUS 303 Human Resources Management Instructor Davis October 18th, 2014 In todays corporate world its important that employees have a set track to follow. A track that monitors their progress, where they need to improve, and where they are succeeding. This track is an evaluation called a performance appraisal. Performance appraisal is the process through which employee performance is assessed, feedback is provided to the employee, and corrective action plans are designed. (Youssef, C. (2012)). Not only are performance appraisals important for the employee but also they’re incredibly beneficial to the company. It allows them to look back on the efficiency and effectiveness of the company as well as how their core fundamentals are being implemented. Performance appraisals can heighten an employee’s performance as well as lower it; in this paper we will be discussing the affects of appraisals as well as the importance of them on a company. In most situations Performance Appraisals are used as generic reviews that help to evaluate situations and come to a certain outcome, I will also be using first hand experiences with writing and delivering performance appraisals. There are several different forms of performance appraisals, the most known are 45 day review, 60 day review, annual review, or an opportunity check. 45 day and 60 day review are pretty self explanatory, this is a performance review for a new employee after they...

...College Abstract Self-esteem is an individual's estimate of one's own self worth, the extent of individual views of good, competence, and decent. Within this activity paper we will discuss why self esteem is important, and why there are discrepancies between the actual self and the ideal self. This paper will discuss the theory of cognitive dissonance in regards to the self-evaluation theory, self-affirmation theory and the realization trap while defining the self-discrepancy theory. The need for high individual self-esteem may lead to irrational logic and individual actions against their own best interest as will be theoretically supported throughout this paper. Concluding that our teams position, will support the theory that individual competence may be inaccurate at times to maintain individual self-esteem. Self-esteem is defined as an individual’s estimate of his or hers own self-worth and the extent of individual views of what is good competent and decent. This activity paper will discuss the importance of self-esteem and explore any discrepancies between the actual self and the ideal self. ...Whitney Adamson MAT 602 Paper The success of every student begins with the effectiveness of teachers and principals. Teachers not only need an extensive knowledge and understanding of teaching strategies to ensure their students are prepared for high school and college but they also need to have a passion for making a difference (“Teachers and Leaders”). Great teachers need patience to take the time needed to influence their students and properly prepare them for their education beyond their classroom. A great teacher can make the difference between a student who continues to higher education and succeeds and a student who may fall through the crack. How is it that a person becomes a great teacher? This begins with not only formal education and training but also the resources and instruction from a great principal once you are in the classroom (“Teachers and Leaders”). Not surprisingly, research shows that top performing teachers can make a dramatic difference in the success and achievement of their students (“Teachers and Leaders”). With this knowledge society needs to do more to ensure that every student has an effective teacher, that every school has effective principals and that every teacher and leader has access to the preparation, support and opportunities they need to succeed. Understanding how important a great teacher is in a classroom is just the beginning of this issue. Next comes how to execute this priority and get the great teachers and leaders we desperately...

...Name: Hasham Tariq Reg no: 12882 Subject: Research Proposal 1 (Rp1) Class: Tuesday 6 to 9 Assignment: Abstract/References of 10 research papers (Motivation/Discrimination) Submitted to: Dr Akif Hussain / Dr Imtiaz Subhani 1. When Searching Hurts: The Role of Information Search in Reactions to Gender Discrimination Abstract Two laboratory studies conducted with Dutch students explored women’s motivation to search for evidence of gender discrimination and its effects on psychological well-being. Study 1 (N = 161) considered situational self-relevance of one’s personal outcomes (personal failure or success) on women’s motivation to collect information about gender discrimination. Study 2 (N = 106) manipulated information search and studied its effects on well-being when information contains evidence of gender discrimination or personal failure. Results revealed that women are motivated to search for evidence of discrimination when outcomes are highly self-relevant (Study 1) or the need to search is high (Study 2). Furthermore women suffer from evidence of prejudice, but only when they are personally affected by this prejudice and evidence suggests it is pervasive. ...Barriers to Critical Thinking Natasha M. King Humanities 115 Heather Karberg Barriers to Critical Thinking The four w’s of life: who, what, when, and where, that make up your social and cultural self, will mold and develop how you view the world or think. It can determine whether you will see the glass half full or half empty. Most people will never questions why they believe what they do or why they think how they do, as it has been embedded into from birth by your environments. Unfortunately not questioning your perception or thinking can be limiting to your social and intellectual growth or create barriers in your critical thinking. There are many barriers in critical thinking, in this paper I will discuss how, projection and rationalization, have been barriers in my journey to critical thinking. Let’s first take a look at projection. Projection Projection is the defense mechanism by which we see in others a part of ourselves that we cannot accept and do not recognize. (Kirby & Goodpaster, 2007). I have thought of myself as a person who can read people and a good judge of character. Perhaps instead of “reading” people, I was just able to recognize some of myself in others and adjust accordingly. Unfortunately, the adjusting may have come at the price of constantly having to formatting my thinking to fit other, which can hinder my ability to apply my thinking or decision making. The use of projection is a barrier that can be overcome by simply recognizing when you...

...Abstract In this paper, we will discuss and provide answers to the posed questions related to Ethel’s Chocolate Lounges: Back to the Future? Chocolate Lounges Tastes Sweet Success” case study. We will address (1) the type of consumer buying decision that describes the indulgence of Ethel’s; (2) factors that influence a consumer to spend money and time at Ethel’s; (3) justifying which factor is thought to motivate the consumer the most and; (4) determining what needs the Ethel’s experience appeals to the most. Consumer buying process When consumers buy a product or service, the consumer decision-making process is generally followed. As we have learned, this process usually falls into three broad categories denoted as the continuum of consumer buying decisions: routine consumer behavior, limited decision making, and extensive decision making. Consumers often follow the stages of the decision-making process but often times the stages are reversed or skipped much like that of impulse buying for example, when a consumer will most likely skip all together, the information search and evaluation of alternatives stages. One type of consumer buying process that described the choice to indulge in Ethel’s is need recognition. The boredom with mass produced chocolate makes those who love chocolate see a “need” for a new and different taste and method of delivery (i.e. the chocolate shop). Consumers will seek out new ways to get what they want when they are bored with the old ones....

...Critical Thinking Reflection – Week Five A college degree will improve my career opportunities in my Law Enforcement Career because I will be able to qualify for a supervisory leadership position. There are many reasons why people pursue a college degree these such as career advancement, financial stability, personal growth, taking charge of your life and your future. Many employers benefit in employees with a college degree because certain positions or ranks will have this as a requirement. Employees are looking for motivated individuals who learn, able to meet deadlines and have problem solving and communication skills. According to the Institute for Higher Education Policy a 1998 report published stated that “individuals benefits that college graduates enjoy including higher levels of saving, increased personal/ professional mobility, improved quality of life for their off spring, better consumer decision making and more hobbies and leisure activities.” (Porter, 2002, para. 5) I believe having a college degree will also set good examples for our children and generation to come. Everyone has a different situation they deal with in in today’s society not many student reach college level due to certain life issues such as death in the family, financial crisis, children , poverty. My cousin is a great example, my aunt a single mother to two children had a low income job in the fast food industry was laid off therefore my cousin after graduating high school had...

...WEEK THREE BULLETIN: MediSys Case Medisys Corp is an excellent case to help students think through the issues involved in designing and managing teams. There are no villains in the story, just decent individuals who behave in ways that, knowingly or not, sabotage the potential success of the IntensCare project. Medisys provides an especially good opportunity to think about lessons from the previous weeks. Specifically: Daniel Pink agues in his TED talk for the importance of autonomy as a motivator. Wasn’t autonomy the operating premise of the Intenscare project? As such, how can one reconcile Pink’s advice with the disastrous scenario in the case? Also, what could Valerie Merz learn from Henry Fonda who had no authority [Merz’s big complaint] but was able to persuade people to act as a responsible team? ANALYSIS In this century, complex technologies and increasing competition in the marketplace often mandate fast time for product development. These real-world pressures make teams a logical choice for projects that require multi-functional inputs and shared decision-making. However, groups are extremely challenging entities and managers must learn how to enable their success. There were three parts to the MediSys assignment. 1. What is working? a. On the organizational side, the company is very profitable and its original entrepreneurial culture had fostered innovative thinking across the company and, as a result, numerous promising initiatives were at various...

...In the paper titled “Lifeboat Earth” the author, Onara O’Neill, a celebrated and world-renowned philosopher, takes a deontological approach towards the issue of global poverty and the moral responsibility of eradicating (deaths ensuing from) world hunger through famine relief aid extended by the First-World countries. An ardent supporter of Kantian ethics, as evidenced by the content of her papers and emphasis on duty as shall be discussed; O’Neill emphasizes and seeks answers as to the moral responsibility of those in well-to-do situations, to lessen the hardships faced by those that are worse off. In that, through means of drawing a parallel, in terms of a metaphor; she likens the earth to a lifeboat with limited resources, adrift at sea....
