The Kaw Indian Tribe are a Native American tribe located in Oklahoma. The tribe known as “Kaw” has also been used as “People of South Wind”, “People of Water”. Their tribal language is Kansa which is classified as Siouan Language. Their Government. The woman would cook, do crafts, and would harvest crops. The cooking would involve skinning and cleaning the animals, collecting fruits and nuts, making fires to cook the food, and would store meat for the harsh climate change when the tribe needs food the animals that were common to the Kaw Tribe were bison, deer, cougars, elk, bear, beaver, dogs,eagles, wolves, sturgeon, crayfish, and mussels.The crafts would consist of making clothes, baskets, and animal hides. Harvesting, their harvesting was corn, beans, seeds, and squash. The harvesting was mostly women. Men did some of it when they were not getting food for the tribe. The mens work. The men's work were typically hunting and fishing, fighting, and crafts. During hunting and fishing they would shoot animals and catch fish. The Kaw technology consist of weapons, clothes, and shelter. The weapons were for defence of the village and for hunting purposes. The weapons were bows and arrows, stone ball clubs, hatchet axes, spears, lances and knives, and shields on horsebacks as defense. The clothes. The men wore a variety of clothes. Red or blue breechcloth with a belt and deerskin leggings, and a blanket robe trimmed with fur. The women would wear buckskin knee-length dresses or skirts, leggings and blanket cloaks. The shelter were what the typical indian tribe would have it was portable tipis and longhouses. The portable tipis were for if the tribe was going on a hunt for buffalo somewhere they could move the shelter to the hunting
