...July 25, 2014 Re: Ricquard Richardson This letter is a Letter of character regarding Ricquard Richard. Honorable Judge Michael Ryan, my name is , I am the cousin of Ricquard Rich. I have been in Ricquard Rich life for all of his 21 years. I have seen Ricquard Richard grow from a child to a wonderful young man. I know him to be a hard working, fun loving, responsible & dependable young man. He has showed dedication in his position with Logistic’s Supply. I am aware of the events regarding Ricquard’s guilty plea, and I am aware of what has transpired. I truly believe that Ricquard has already suffered extensively for his actions. I believe he is truly despondent regarding what he has put his family through. Ricquard, comes from a very hard working family. His mom, dad and grandparents are hardworking people and have done everything to raise this young man. Ricquard knows this and I know firsthand he is deeply sorry for his actions. I believe that extended jail time will be difficult for his family as well as himself. Ricquard is a child who has never been in trouble, he has never been in a situation like this. It is my fear that being in an environment like this with other criminals will only make him worse. Honorable Judge Michael Ryan, I respectfully ask that you grant Ricquard Rich a sentence of Probation or at least the lowest possible sentence . I believe that in looking forward, taking a set back like jail time, is not going to help in him become a...

In the 2009 film "Up in the Air," Natalie Keener decides she can no longer stomach being part of a corporate firing squad and quits her firm. But getting an outstanding reference letter is entirely within your control and easier than you think, even if you don't have a benevolent benefactor at your back. Here are three tips to ensure your mentor, former boss, or academic counselor writes you a rave review: 1. Highlight their qualifications 2. Provide a template 3. Offer a "no questions asked" policy Let's look at each of these individually: Highlight their Qualifications When reaching out to ask for a letter of reference, explain up front and center why it is that you value that person's opinion and respect their professional expertise enough so that you chose them (of all people) to vouch for you in your...

GENERAL GUIDELINES • • • • • • • • • (JB Aug 2012) Be specific and give examples to justify the points that you make. Request a CV or personal statement for additional information. This can inform your writing and enable you to be specific e.g. refer to anecdotes that back up points about a student's personality and ability. Raise the issue of references with students in class early in the academic year and clarify your / the Department's procedure for dealing with references. One page of a typewritten A4 page is generally sufficient - but do try to write more than one paragraph!. Students should inform you of the job(s) or course(s) they are applying for. The reader of the letter wishes to get to know the person better and you can tailor your give evidence of relevant skills, knowledge or experiences. If the letter is going to be negative, or overly bland, then tell the student who requests it in advance. The request may then be withdrawn. Some writers suggest that you avoid the gushing letter that only has positives to say and encourage you to write briefly about a weakness/area for development as it will give balance to the letter. Either way be comfortable with what you say. You can also follow the letter with a phone call. Do not substitute a telephone reference for a written one if that is what is requested...

...GUIDELINES FOR WRITING LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION Letters of recommendation are used to gather additional information about a candidate for employment, graduate study or other opportunity. It should give an overall picture of the candidate's: personal characteristics performance experience strengths capabilities professional promise Preferably, the person writing the letter of recommendation has been in a working or academic relationship with the applicant. It is recommended that the student provide you with a copy of their resume, along with the job description they are applying for. The letter should be about one page in length and generally consist of three parts: opening, body, and closing. Two questions to ask yourself BEFORE accepting a request to write a letter of recommendation 1. Can you speak positive about this individual? If you find yourself making up half truths, or having trouble finding positives, then you need to politely decline serving as a reference, or writing a reference letter. To avoid hurting feelings, simply state you feel you are not familiar enough with their background or work ethic to provide the best recommendation. 2. Can you speak for the applicant on the position they are applying for? If an individual asks you to be a reference, or to provide a reference letter and you do not feel you can provide a well rounded background reference, then you may want to consider either politely declining, or setting up an appointment with that individual...

...trying to do in his work, “The Theology of the First Letter to the Corinthians,” which challenges a number of common views regarding New Testament literature. The piece of this book that I will analyze deals with 1 Corinthians specifically. In this section, Furnish challenges the common belief that Paul’s theology is most evident in Galatians and Romans, while his apostolic self-understanding and views on ethical and moral issues are found primarily in 1 and 2 Corinthians. He believes this is inaccurate, and that 1 Corinthians is also, a profoundly theological letter. The approach used in arguing this claim is a very historical one. There are many references to historical texts in addition to the biblical discussion found throughout. As a guide, the four traditional doctrinal topics will be summarized and analyzed in order to better understand the relationship between Paul and the Corinthians, specifically regarding their respective views. These topics will include Christology, soteriology, eschatology, and ecclesiology. The first topic discussed is Christology. This is the field of study included in Christian theology primarily concerned with the nature and person of Jesus Christ as recorded in the epistles of the New Testament. First off, when reading 1 Corinthians there are various images that seem to stand out. Maybe the most obvious or compelling visual we see is the Christological image in the beginning of this letter where Paul draws the picture of Christ...
